Hera's P.O.V

   *continuing the flashback*

I groaned and felt the weight on me do the same. What just happened? My eyes soon locked with a pair of deep blue. The boy.

He stared for a moment before realizing where he was. He quickly scrambled off of me and tried to run for the door but Zeb caught him. He screeched and kicked, trying to get free from Zeb's arm's.

"Zeb, be careful. He's still not at his best at the moment," I ordered. The boy took the chance of the distraction and bit into the Lasat's arm. Zeb grunted in pain but kept his hold.

"The little bugger bit me!" Zeb growled like he wanted to throw the kid. I walked over and stood in front of them, crouching down to the boy's eye level. He seemed to freeze in place with wide, fear-filled eyes. His breathing was unsteady and seemed like a cornered loth cat.

I sympathetically smiled warmly feeling sorry for him. He seemed to relax a little bit not enough to keep him calm.

"We'll put you down if you don't runaway. We just want to talk. Whatever they did to you on that Star Destroyer well, the best I can say is that, we won't do anything they did to...get you to talk," I said, not liking how I phrased most of it. Yet, it was the best that I could explain to the kid.

And it seemed to work. The boy agreed to our terms by nodding and I gave Zeb an okay to put him down. Zeb didn't seem sure but did as he was told, setting the child down.

The boy didn't run away instead, he stood stiff in place and hugged himself.

"Can you tell us what your name is?" I asked, kindly.

He hesitated before saying in an unsure and shy voice, " Ezra."

"It's nice to meet you, Ezra," I spoke.

"W-What's your name?" He asked, curiously. Then he clasped his hand over his mouth as if saying a bad word and backed away.

"I'm sorry! I didn't mean to-I didn't mean to say-say anything!" He stuttered, backing into Zeb. He jumped and froze. I could that he was about to bolt for the door behind me.

"It's okay," I quickly reassured, "You're safe and you can ask us questions."

Ezra stared at me but still was a bit jumpy like he didn't believe me. All thoughts of that quickly vanished when I said, "My name is, Hera."

   He calmed down. Good.

"Are you hungry?" Sabine intervened. Ezra flinched a bit when seeing her and didn't respond.

"Can you go make him something?" I ordered the artist. She nodded and walked to the kitchen. I stood up and gestured to Zeb that he can leave. He gave a firm nod before walking out the door to his room.

I looked down at the boy who felt out of place at the moment.

"How about we sit and wait for your food to arrive," I suggested. He didn't say a word but silently went over to the checkered table and sat down. His arms were still crossed over his chest and eyes drawn to his boots. I reluctantly sat across from his.

We sat in silence for awhile before I broke it.

"Is there anything that hurts?" I asked, referring to his injuries. He bit his lip, unsure if he should say anything or not.

"If there's anything that hurts, just tell me when you feel comfortable doing so," I said.

Ezra shyly nodded as Sabine entered with a plate of food. She set it in front of him and I thanked her before she left for her room. Ezra stared at the sandwich in front of him. I could tell that he was hungry but also hesitant to make a move.

He looked up at me for permission and I smiled, gently saying, "Go on."

He slowly took the sandwich in his hands and skeptically kept an eye on me for any signs of denial. I showed none until feeling some victory swell up when he took a bite out of the food.

He took another cautious bite and chewed it down before realizing that I was staring. He was a bit reluctant and I snapped out of my little stare down.

I stood from the seat and said, "Once you're done, just sit tight and make yourself at home. If you need me then I'll be in the cockpit."

Ezra nodded silently as he chewed. I smiled before heading towards the cockpit. Once the door closed behind me, I let out a sigh realizing that I held my breath the whole time.

One problem at a time. I kept telling myself that but the churning feeling in my stomach stayed. Who knows what Kanan was going through now? I can't imagine...

Shaking the bitter thoughts away, I made a bee-line for the only place I could feel like myself. Once entering the small room and sitting in my chair, I finally relaxed and watched the stars. I wasn't sure how long I was there for but a scream tore me out of thought.

I immediately jumped out of the seat and ran down the corridor to where the scream came. The common room.

Before I was close enough for the door to slide open, something else did it instead. A flash of orange ran straight into me, knocking all the wind out  of myself. I didn't fall but arms instinctively wrapped around the form that crashed into me.

Ezra quickly looked up to see me. I saw the tear tracks and was going to ask what happened. Yet, didn't get the chance when he started to freak out and tried to run away, again.

"Ezra! What's wrong?" I asked, worried. He kept crying and screaming, "I'm sorry! I'm sorry! Please, don't hurt me! I'M SORRY!"

I was very confused why he was acting like this but let him go. It wouldn't help if I kept holding him to make him even more terrified. He ran into the cockpit and disappeared as I stood there wondering what happened.
