Chapter 9 [Bradon's POV]
.Chapter 9 [Bradon's POV].
This chapter is dedicated to @DirectioneRadz for being an awesome friend/sister!
Christine's POV
"Chris this is Sebastian; Seb, this is Chris," Brad introduced me to his hot friend. Seb pulled me into a hug, and then wolf-whistled softly after eyeing me up, but not in a creepy manner.
"She's my friend-" Brad began.
"No I'm not, actually," I interjected. "I'm just another girl he met at the party, the one who isn't his type, and trust me, doesn't even want to be."
By the time I was done, Seb looked confused, and Brad had completely frozen on the spot, his lips parted.
"I'll . . . leave," Seb said, probably sensing the tensed atmosphere, and pointed towards the tables, disappearing in the blink of an eye.
I looked back at Bradon, who had an unreadable expression on his face. "You heard me that day?"
"Fortunately yes: I got to know what a jerk you really are."
"You do know I didn't mean that right?" he said slowly.
"No. I was just acting bitchy for no reason," I replied sarcastically.
The next thing I knew, I was pinned to the wall, with Bradon breathing down my neck. "What the hell are you doing?" I said through gritted teeth.
"Just making some things clear," he whispered. "I didn't mean what I said, okay?"
"Seb assumes everything without knowing the whole story. If I would have told him you were my friend, the next thing you know is you're my girlfriend in everyone's eyes."
"Ew."
He released me, and I did not miss the rolling of his eyes. "C'mon, I'm not that bad . . . Oh, I forgot! You are absolutely and irrevocably in love with Julian."
I blushed.
"It's cute when you blush" he said, and pinched my cheeks.
My eyes snapped up to his in surprise, and it was his turn to go red. "I'm sorry, I-I-I-" he stammered.
"It's fine," I cut him off. "And I'm sorry, too. You know, for the misunderstanding about . . ." I trailed off, hoping that he would catch my drift.
"Yeah, it's cool," he grinned. "Friends?" he extended his hand forward, and looked at me expectantly.
"Friends," I smiled a genuine smile, and shook his hand.
"God, now I have to go and explain everything to Seb," Brad groaned, and glanced towards the table where his friends were sitting. "See? He's even looking at us now."
I turned my head, and sure enough, he was eyeing us like a piece of chocolate.
"He's worse than a girl when it comes to gossiping, I swear! He knows everything about everyone."
"Then let's give him something to gossip about, shall we?" I smiled.
"What are you-"
I cut him off by placing a light, lingering kiss on his cheek. I then waved to Seb, who was looking like a child on Christmas, and walked off.
Bradon's POV
"I thought you said she wasn't your friend?" Zach said, smirking at me. I glared at Seb, who gave me a sheepish smile.
"I couldn't help it, bro. The thought of you having a girlfriend overwhelmed me," he said, wiping off fake tears, and I rolled my eyes in annoyance.
"So how was it?" Caleb asked me.
"How was what?" I said, raising my eyebrows, even though I knew extremely well what he was talking about.
"Don't play the innocent card on us, Brad," he scoffed. "We saw her kiss your cheek."
"So?" I said incredulously. "A kiss on the cheek does not mean anything."
Lie.
But there was no way in hell that I was gonna tell them I had a tingling feeling on my cheek when Chris kissed me.
I ignored the feeling then, and I'm still gonna ignore it now, because . . . because well, no reason. I'm just going to let it go.
"See, she's looking at you," Seb teased, and when I located her, she sure enough was giggling silently at me, and gave me a small wave. I smiled, and waved back.
I turned to face my friends. "So what? Al and Dan are waving, too. It doesn't mean anything," I shrugged it off.
"How do you know them, again?" Zach asked me.
I looked incredulously at Seb. He told them what I wanted him to tell them, that she was not even my friend, but he didn't tell them how I met her.
Excellent, Sebastian.
"I met them at a party," I shrugged.
It was gonna be hard to keep up with the I-don't-care persona, because I genuinely liked them. They were cool.
"They don't look like they're of age, though," Caleb said, furrowing his eyebrows in confusion.
Caleb was the wise one of our group. Cool and laid back; but wise, nevertheless.
"Neither am I of age, Caleb. Still you do see me in clubs, don't you?" I rolled my eyes. "I met them at a high school party."
Zach did a double take. "High school party?"
"Yes," I said emphatically.
Was it that hard to believe me?
"Let me guess, Alec set you up," Seb said.
"That's my man," I cheered, and gave him a high-five.
"She's gorgeous," Zach stated.
"I know man," I said proudly.
"And so is her friend," he continued.
I nearly chocked myself as I stifled a laugh. "You think Dan is gorgeous? God, I can't wait to see his reaction!"
"No, idiot! I'm talking about the blonde one there. Jesus, I could make her moan all night."
It wasn't really that hard to guess that Zach was a pervert and a flirt. That asshole called himself 'Casanova'.
Yeah, right.
Next in line was Seb. He was not as a pervert as Zach; more of a guy who'd like to charm a girl to bed, if you know what I mean.
"That's Alicia," I said. "But you don't want too flirt to hard with her. I'll bet you 100 bucks that she'll kick you where the sun doesn't shine," I laughed. "She's a sassy one."
"And Chris?" Caleb asked.
"She has a very sharp and sarcastic mouth. But she's more innocent than Alicia, and caring, and she has that friendly aura around her . . . You're messing with me aren't you, Caleb," I said, deadpanned. "I don't like Chris like that."
"I didn't imply anything," Caleb said slyly.
"But if you're not interested in her, let me take her, dude. She's fucking sexy," Zach said excitedly.
And also a virgin.
"No," I said deadpanned. "Absolutely not."
"And why not?" he challenged.
If only you knew, Zachary . . .
"She's . . . in love with someone else," I said, concentrating on my food.
"Like you, for example?" Caleb laughed.
I choked in my food. "What? No! Are you crazy?! I met her just a couple of weeks ago!"
"All the good ones are taken," Zach complained. "And I need someone to help me to tell Diana to lay off."
"Dude, she doesn't leave you alone," I laughed, and Zach made an ugly face.
"Don't change the subject," Caleb warned. "And for your information, when I said how was it, I meant the talk."
I nodded.
"It was you who assumed otherwise," he smirked, and I clicked my tongue impatiently.
"Fine, I enjoyed the kiss on the cheek, happy?" I snapped, causing them to snicker and hi-five each other. "Are you my friends or what?" I muttered under my breath as I glanced at Christine from the corner of my eye.
The man at the table, who I assumed was Dan's father got a phone call, and after a quick discussion with everyone at the table, he and a lady who was probably his wife, left the table.
Now it was only Chris, Dan, Alicia and 'Edward', as I heard Chris say earlier.
Being the stupid idiot I am, I thought that she had come on a date with Edward; but it was before I saw who he really was.
And why would she come on a date with Edward when she was head over heels for Juliet?
I sniggered at my own joke, remembering how she got all riled up when I called Julian 'Juliet'.
My attention refocused on Chris, as she whispered something in Edward's ear, and he shook his head profusely. Chris simply slapped his head, pointing discreetly towards Dan and Al.
I averted my gaze towards them, and saw Dan lean forward and wipe something off Alicia's mouth with a napkin.
I smirked to myself. I knew Dan had the hots for Alicia, and I knew he wouldn't admit it. And Alicia was blind.
I looked at Chris again, and she and Dan's brother were looking at them intently-Chris had an adoring expression, while Edward looked frankly disgusted.
I couldn't blame him though.
He said something to Chris again, causing her to slap his head again. I swallowed a laugh.
Both of them looked as though they were about to burst from laughter, and I chuckled to myself, seeing their pained expressions in order to hold down a laugh.
Suddenly, both of them shot up from their seats in unison, and left the table. They went and hid near the bathroom, and I swear I heard a faint sound of laughter. I smiled to myself, seeing the startled Dan and Alicia they left behind.
Their departure brought me to my senses, as I turned my attention back where I was.
Sensing silence around me, I looked up curiously, to see all the three guys staring at me.
"What?" I said self-consciously.
"Nothing," Caleb drawled. "We were just saying how you don't like Christine."
I put a spoonful of my soup in my mouth. "That's right, I don't."
"Oh, come off it," Seb snapped suddenly, and I looked at him, annoyed. "That's right, because normal guys don't stare off at a distance at some girl he met at a party-"
"She's my friend," I defended.
"I know that," Seb snapped again.
Ouch.
"They don't smile and smirk and chuckle to themselves just to pass time. If you do that, you're a lunatic, and I think you need mental aid!" he said, and then breathed out a lot of air at once.
"Why are you guys bent on me liking her? I think I should make this clear. I. Do. Not. Like. Her. Like. That! Understood?"
There was a chorus of a half-hearted, "Yes", and I nodded with satisfaction.
Way to pressurize a guy. I admit that she's really hot and all, hell she's beautiful, but I really didn't see her that way.
Just then, she and Edward came out from wherever they had gone, both red in face. If I didn't know better, I would have assumed worse-case-scenarios, because let's face it-she would get arrested for screwing him: he's underage.
She caught my eye and grinned. She motioned her head towards her two best friends, and then winked at me, trying to stifle a laugh.
I smiled at her, motioning her to go back to the table-Al and Dan were eyeing us suspiciously. I didn't want to be bombarded by them too. Three people were enough.
And if I had learnt anything from my stay at their place, it was that they're exactly like these idiots with me here, so they would easily like each other, and I'll be their bait.
She nodded her head, and then suddenly, her phone rang. She bit her lip sexily-what the fuck are you thinking, Bradon?-and smiled to herself before taking the call.
I sighed, knowing pretty well that it would be Julian.
"I do not like her," I said impassively, as I caught my friends' knowing gazes.
All I got in was a: "Sure, we didn't say anything, did we?"
I rolled my eyes at their immaturity.
I did not like Christine Hawkins more than a friend.
