Damon has a large house. You'd be surprised. I didn't know his parents were this rich, but I should've suspected by all the expensive clothes he wears.
I had worn a nice blue dress and my hair was curled slightly. I hope it didn't look too bad. This wasn't my first party, but I was still trying to hide my depression from everyone, so I always have to look happy and clean.
When I got into the house, everyone was already mingling and drinking. It was like a mosh pit in the middle, people grinding on one another and beer splashing all around their feet. I grimaced and moved away from that area. The outside might be safer.
As soon as I leaned against the wall, however, I noticed Leo walking towards me. Why? I don't know.
"Hey, you're Sara, right?"
He knew my name. Holy cow one of the most popular guys in school knew my name.
"Y-yeah, why?" Real smooth, me. Real smooth.
"Well, you know how we share a Ceramics class, right?"
"Of course."
"So, I've noticed you seem to be pretty good at it, while I am, well, shît. Do you think you could perhaps help me?"
"Sure!" I was grinning now.
Leo grinned at me. "Thanks! I'll see you later, Sara."
I nodded, unable to formulate sentences anymore. As soon as he left, I couldn't stop smiling. Had one of the most popular boys in school just asked me for help?
Sure, it didn't seem like much, but I was certainly feeling happy. It wasn't true happiness, but it was pretty close.
I must have been super giddy and stupid because I ended up taking some of the alcohol.
By the time I was dizzy and tipsy, I had to sit down on some love seat somewhere.
I must have looked completely out of it, because Jeromy came by, tugging some girl along with him. They paid me no heed, but I paid attention to them.
Jeromy slammed the girl against the wall and began to suck her face. I frowned, my vision blurring slightly.
Jeromy pulled away and whispered something in her ear before kissing her again. The two eventually managed to pull away from one another just in time to go into a bedroom.
Eventually I left, seeing nothing of interest around. However, I ended up actually bumping into someone. Sophie.
She blinked as the beer she had been holding went all over me. Before I could say anything, Sophie's face immediately changed. Her expression became frantic, worried even.
"Oh my god I'm so sorry! I, uh- oh my gosh." She was blubbering.
"It's okay, I was planning on leaving soon anyways."
Sophie shook her head as she looked around. She then grabbed my hand and led me to a bathroom. "We're about the same size, right?"
"What?"
Immediately, Sophie began to take off my wet clothes. I tried to fight her but she wouldn't have it. Eventually, she had all my clothes off. I watched as she tore hers off and then handed them to me. Before I could say anything, she was already putting my clothes on her. Once I was done, she looked up at me. "Keep them, Sara."
And with that, she ran out of the bathroom.
I frowned, but put her clothes on nonetheless. Once I was dressed, I walked out.
I felt pretty out of place, seeing as these clothes hugged all my curves. I made my way towards the door, however, I was stopped by Amy.
She frowned as she eyed my outfit. "Isn't that Sophie's?"
"Yes, she gave it to me when she accidentally spilled beer all over me. I don't know where she went, though."
"Oh. I'm sorry, it's just that me and her are good friends and I have to look after her. I don't know what it is, but it seems like she's been through hell."
I frowned. "She didn't seem it."
"Yeah, well, she's good at hiding things."
That makes two of us.
I nodded. "Well, I have to go. These aren't the kind of clothes I like to wear."
Amy smirked. "You and Sophie look good in it, and both of you hate it. I should've known. She doesn't like this type of clothing, either."
"Oh. Maybe that's why she was so quick to shove it on me. Well, that and not wanting me to deny it, I guess."
Amy nodded, agreeing with me. "See you around, kid."
I nodded as she walked off. Then, I finally made it to the door.
Once I made it out I walked towards my car. Once I got in I started it and looked up, only to see Sophie shivering on the sidewalk. I was about to go offer her a ride when a taxi pulled up. Sophie gladly got in and it drove away a few moments later.
I shrugged it off and drove home.
When I got home, my mom didn't even acknowledge my outfit, like always. My dad nodded at me, probably believing I had been wearing that before.
I went into my room and tore off the dress. Then, I pulled on some PJs.
I was about to go to sleep when my phone vibrated. I picked it up and saw a message from my cousin, Calvin. He was coming into town for a while while his family was out of town.
I grinned. He was one of the few family members I enjoyed spending time with.
Maybe life was looking up.
