Mathew P.O.V

I had moved to my 'bed' to watch Demi stir up the chef, which was quite amusing. Before she got up and left without anyone. Lilly wanted to go with her but the guards stopped her and put her back in her cell. She looked upset and is now waiting for Demi to come back.

The chef scoffed and left after Demi. The guards despite being suspicious stayed put and kept silent. I knew she was going back to base but why? She could avoid it till the mission was over, couldn't she?

Detrys P.O.V

I continued walking into the shadows of the forest till i heard a loud noise. I didnt take the chance to fight but ran till i got to a familliar clearing, the trees all had symbols on them. I start to the say the first symbol and then continue saying them out all  in order. A whistle was sounded and someone droped from the trees.

I looked at the person and walked up to them calmly before sending a clean right hook to their face. They fell back and held their face as they likely have a broken nose. "You didn't do your job properly. Guess who I found. Do you already know or were you too lazy to do your job Dan!" I yelled at him. He smirked up at me but I returned it with a glare that made him shrink back and lose some of his cocky confidence.

"What ever are you talking about? I have no clue on why you would ever think that." He said calmly looking me in the eye as he sat on the floor. I stomped up to him and lifted him up by his collar. I lent in and whispered   "How would boss react if a runner had purposefully lost Mathew and didn't report back that he is still in reach?"

His face dropped and he looked at me with a pleading look then he begged "Please! Don't tell him! He will kill me if he finds out! You know how scary boss is don't you? I just wanted a better rank then being a runner." I looked at him with a clear scowl and spoke with a disgusted tone in my voice "You think finding him after you failed your job will give extra credit? You would have been throne into the torture cells for not doing your job right the first time!" I dropped him on the ground, kicked him in the gut and walked towards a building that blended in with the shadows.

I entered the noisy building as people were drunk and causing a ruckus. I  walked over to a circle of men as they shouted and yelled at something that was happening in the centre. In the centre there was Hunter who was being beat into the ground by Frost. I groaned and walked up to Frost before he could throw another punch and held his arms behind his back "I don't think I would do this if I were you. You don't know how boss will react to your mistake." I threatened as I looked at his face which held horror then pushed him into a few drunk men "ALRIGHT PARTIES OVER GO DO SOMTHING ELSE!" They all groaned but walked off.

I looked at Hunter as he lay in a ball on the floor. He was covered in bruises and was bleeding so I picked him up and took him to the infirmary so I could tend to his cuts. He looked at me with a thankful look but winced as I poured some cleaning alcohol onto the cuts. "You know you aren't allowed in there. You always get beat up by Frost" I stated "Boss isn't very happy with you. He sent some runners out to see if you had any progress but apparently you have been living in a cell ever since you left for your mission." He explained as I started to bandage up his arm in cloth.

I looked at him with a sad smile and messed his hair up "Don't worry to much about it. I'll survive. Just stay out of the pub this time." I said as I walked away towards the training grounds knowing that's where boss will be. I reached my destination but slowed my pace as I was fully aware  for what was going to happen. I walked behind him and spoke my report in a very monotone voice "Progress has been made but the mission is slower than expected due to some troubles that I have made my way through. It will require more time to finish as a problem has arisen and it will take more planning to wo-" I was punched straight in the gut then one to the head but balance myself so I stay standing. "Work o-on how the ob-objec-jective is ob-obtained al-" I was kicked in the gut and punched in the face a couple times but still weakly stood still. "Also th-there are mo-ore p-people to witt-witness the pl-plan we al-already ha-" I get kicked in the gut and my feet taken out from underneath me but I am held still so I am still an easy target. "Have make-making it harder to make this a ste-stelf miss-mission" I finish as I am punched a few more times before I am dropped to the ground and kicked repeatedly.

I hear Boss yelling stuff like disappointment, trash, uneeded, pathetic and a waste of space before stomping off towards his office. A hand is held infront of me as I take it and I am helped up. I stand still regaining my vision as I look at the small group that has surrounded me. Quil, Jamie, Turner and Pearl all looking at me with sadness and pity in there features.

"Hey guys. Nice seeing you but I do wish it was in better circumstances than this." I say referring to what just happened. They shake their heads and hug me softly, I push them off and limp towards the bunks. We call it that because everyone shares a room with five other people. I walk into my bunk that I share with them and walk over to the little bundle of sadness I have on my bed, I start stroking it and it instantly becomes excited as I let my wisp animal jump on me and push me to the ground.

I feel pain echo through my body which catches his attention as he stops and nudges me with his snout. I pick him up as I go to sit up on my bed  knowing I have to explain what has happened whilst I was gone.
