Chapter 9
How can I watch you love someone else when it's clear I want you all to myself?
Darcy's POV
I sat staring at the closed door as Jane got herself ready to go home; the activities of the previous night engraved into my brain and wired to my memories.
How could she have forgotten something so beautifully magical that only happens once in a lifetime to people like me?
I've had a crush on her since that first time I laid eyes on her beautiful form and heard her speak. Now, she treats me like I'm just another girl and I don't mind that, I honestly don't. I just hate that my stupid feelings haven't evaporated by now. She has a boyfriend and I should just admit it and move on.
"You ready?"
"As ready as I'll ever be." I smile broadly.
I follow slowly after her, allowing myself to; even for a moment, be able to admire her from the distance.
The way her hips swayed so gently as she moved or how her hair would unintentionally bop up and down her shoulders. Or how the wind would blow just the right way, causing that one clump of hair to land on her cheeks and then I get to watch her push it behind her ear so carelessly.
I got to watch her nibble at her lower lip as she worried about unnecessary stuff or just as she thought about anything in general. I sighed deeply as she smiled at me before getting into the front seat of my car.
If only she knew what she did to me.
I quickly pull out of the gravel driveway and make my way down fifth, the morning as quiet and listless as ever. Our windows rolled down and the breeze bringing goosebumps on our skins as we fled down the almost deserted roads. As we pull up to the stoplight my eyes were once again distracted by the unassuming girl beside me.
Her head, braced against the seat's head and her eyes closed. Her lashes, laid perfectly on smooth skin and her perfect lips so gently parted.
I bite in my moan and close my eyes briefly as I mentally calmed myself down. It was getting more and more difficult to contain my need for her and after last night, I knew my dreams and visions would be clouded by the taste of her lips and the feels of her sweet body.
My disobedient eyes shifted over to her once more and they travelled from her face as they observed the body that my hands had come to know. She was still wearing that way too short denim skirt and that sky blue tank top that made her Amber eyes pop but which was partially covered by Ryder's black leather jacket.
Ryder.
He was a really sweet guy, I'm sure and I knew I shouldn't be trying to steal her away from him, after all, I wouldn't want someone doing that to me. I just, I think that they were way too different for each other.
The movement from the passenger side seat had me looking over again and my breath hitched as I saw her legs parted. I literally had to ease off the brakes and force myself to keep focus before I caused a major car crash.
I spared a glance her way and her eyes were still closed making me all too aware that she was still suffering from her hangover. Her chest was rising and falling every few seconds and I became mesmerized by the action. All too soon I was pulling up to her place and I pushed away the pang of disappointment I felt rising up.
"Jane." I whisper softly and allowed my fingers to gently touch her arm.
The contact was enough to get my heart racing again and when her tired eyes opened and connected with mine, I almost died.
"We're here."
She smiles at me and it's so infectious that I have to return it.
"Already?"
There it goes again. That tiny clump of hair that always seem to fall from place and beautifully land on her face. And there she goes again, pushing it to the corner and distracting me from reality.
"Well bye."
She quickly opens the door and before I know it, she's gone. I sigh deeply before resting my head on my steering wheel.
Why was being me so hard?
There were so many people dying for my attention but yet, the one person I wanted was not only taken by someone else but she was also very straight.
I groaned again as I took off. There was only one way of letting out my frustrations. With my mind made up I drove my car in the direction of the Black Panthers to do just that. A few minutes later and I was walking through the familiar black doors as I headed up to the fifth floor.
It was bright and early but the best part about this place was that it never slept and you could bet your sweet ass that it always had people. I walked past the two security guards, the locker rooms filled with people preparing themselves to go out next, the loud room, and just kept going until I reached the room at the very end.
Pushing my way in, the first thing I noticed were the many noises and the smacking of flesh against flesh. I smiled brightly before my entire persona changed.
My shoulders got straighter, I felt a bit more taller and my body was just oozing with sex appeal.
Most of the occupants recognized me immediately and a few stood frozen in their spots.
"Lady Faye." Someone whispered and a shiver ran down the length of my body.
Let the games begin.
