Two?

My phone rings just like every Saturday morning. I don't have to see the caller ID to know it's my mom. Every week for the last 7 and a half months, she calls me.

"Hey mom. How are you." I answer with a smile as I hold the phone in front of me.

"Good morning! I'm good. Your father and I are chilling outside before it gets too hot. How are you doing in Texas honeybun?"

"It's still great here." I tell her with a laugh. "Two out four of my final exams are completed which means I survived first year of Sports Physio-Therapy. And I think I am finally getting used to my roommate and his girlfriend." My roommate I warmed up to easily, it was more his girlfriend that took me longer to like. But this summer is going to be awesome. Me and Tracey have loads planned.

"That's wonderful! How is he doing?"

"Yes, he's doing fine. Working and training, still with Penelope."

My mom wouldn't let me move in with a single dude. Luckily, I found Jeremy with decent rent and right near campus. Jeremy and Penelope were dating a month or two before I moved in. That meant that I didn't have to worry about a college football player flirting with me for my first year in a new city. As much, anyway... All I had to worry about was school and the occasional moaning and grunting from Jeremy's room late at night. And that could be fixed with a good pair of headphones.

"Good, good. All right, I will leave you to it then. Have a great week, honeybun. I am happy to see you alive and healthy." We text pretty much every day so she knows I'm alive but we video chat on these days. I know she misses us but I feel that secretly she enjoys not having the kids around.

I laugh. "Love you mom. See you in a couple weeks!"

"Love you lots. See you soon."

We wave goodbye and she hangs up first. It's hard being away from my family for so long and I still got a couple more years to go before I'm done. At least they are only a four hour flight away.

I leave my room to make my smoothie before my run and I see a girl sitting on the couch. She's watching tv while Jeremy is cooking bacon in the kitchen. This girl is not the blonde hair, green eyed girl I'm used to seeing here most mornings. Maybe she's a friend of Jeremy's?

"Um Jer," I come up to his side, "who's that?"

He looks up from the stove to where I'm pointing and he smiles. "That's Jasmine."

"Okay, is she a classmate or a friend?"

"No, she's my girlfriend."

I chuckle and step back. "Right, funny."

"Jasmine is my girlfriend. I thought you should finally meet her." He says, going back to rotating the sizzling bacon.

"Um what? You smoking crack? What about... Penelope?" I whisper her name. Poor Penelope. He just drops her and finds a new girl right away. What happened between them? They were good yesterday. Oh no! He's cheating on her!

"I'm still dating Penelope." He says in an even tone.

Um? The girl is within earshot. I turn my attention to the new girl and she doesn't flinch. What the hell? I point my thumb toward her with a frown.

"She knows, they both do. We're polyamorous." He says with a shrug. "Don't be scared, go say hi."

They're what? Polyarmorous? When did he learn such big words. "You're joking. You've got to be fucking with me right now." He's always pulling pranks on me. This is one of them.

His brown eyes hold my gaze as he shakes his head. "Not fucking with you Vargas." He nudges me in the side and winks at me as I stand with my mouth open. Jeremy turns the burner off and walks over to the couch, holding a plate of eggs and bacon in each hand.

I follow and smile at her when she turns her gaze to me.

What the actual fuck is happening right now? Penelope should not be okay with this. Although, she isn't the jealous type. But still... this is kind of messed up. If I found out that I was dating a guy who was dating someone else I would leave. How long have these two been together?

"Jas, this is Angie my roommate." Jeremy says.

"Hi. Nice to meet you!" She says way too cheerily.

"Nice to meet you too." Okay, this is freaky. What do you do when you find out that your guy roommate is dating not one but two girls? At the same time?! Two girls!

"So how did you guys meet?"

"I was photographing for the university paper while he was playing a game."

"Yuppers, put me right on the front page." Jeremy grins and shoves his shoulder into his girlfriend. She giggles in response and squeezes his arm.

"That's cool." I check my watch, it's almost 9:30 and I should go before it gets too warm. "I'm sorry, I don't want to be rude but I got to go." I say getting up from my chair.

"Yes, for your morning run." Girlfriend number 2 says with a wide smile. I already forgot her name. I'm so bad at remembering peoples names. "See you later."

"Bye buddy!" Jeremy waves to me.

I'm still sleeping right now and this is a dream. The morning sun glaring in my eyes tells me that I am most assured awake... What the fuck! I call my friend Tracey once I round the corner of my street. "Trace! Meet me at the Starbucks I work at stat!"

"I'll be there in 10!" She says on the other side. No questions asked just ready to meet me at the drop of a hat. I love her. We were going to hang out today but I couldn't wait to tell her after my run.

"Give me the tea. What's wrong." She says before sitting down.

I run my hands through my hair. I didn't even put it up in a ponytail yet. Didn't even get to make my morning smoothie either. I was just in a rush to get out of there!

"Jeremy has a second girlfriend." You think you know a guy. Then BAM! He drops a bomb on an unsuspecting Angie.

Trace almost spits her coffee but she stops it with a hand clamped over her mouth. "Shut up!"

I nod my head like a crackhead. "That's not all, apparently Penelope knows and she's okay with it!"

Her eyes widen. "Holy shit. Would you stay with a guy that already has a girlfriend?"

"No I couldn't date someone like that, although, he is hot." I answer then sip my coffee. I could see the appeal. He's gorgeous, a college football athlete but no, that's too weird for me. If I'm dating someone, he's all mine.

"Mmhmm." Tracey hums in agreement. "Damn didn't know Jeremy was like that. What kind of relationship is he in then? What did he call it?"

"Polyamory or polyamorous. They know that he's dating both and agree to share him I guess."

"Do they have sex all together? Or separate? Will they all hangout as a group now?"

"God I hope not. But I don't think so? I don't know man. I just found out that he's dating two girls at the same time. I had to google what polyamorous meant on my way here." Polyamorous not polyarmorous...

"What is the other girl like?"

"She seems nice, well nice to me in the few seconds we talked to each other. Really pretty too."

"Damn your life is juicy." She comments quietly then takes a drink from her cup. "I wish I had some drama in my life. You have got to keep me updated on what's going on with them."

I don't need this, I was just getting used to how things are here. Now Jer has to throw this in. I rub my temples to rid the growing headache. Tracey opens her mouth to ask another question but I put up my hand.

"Can we please talk about something else?"

"Fine." She pouts. "How's your mom doing?"
