Chapter 19
Valencia
I stood there staring at my reflection in front of the mirror making sure that I looked the same level of sexy I had expected to be. No thanks to the bruise that was around my arm I couldn't wear the sleeveless red color dress any longer. I had to change the whole look. There was an entire hour for today's party to begin and I was here preparing to keep everything in line.
Demyan hadn't come back home or maybe if he had I hadn't cared to look. I had got too many miss calls from Natalia but I just couldn't pick those up. It would be just me blasting her ass over what his brother had done to me. Isn't that what we all do to punish our loved ones?
Making my way downstairs to the garden where I had set the party I saw a few of Demyan's guards were around but I paid no heed to them. I had bigger plans than him tonight. The event planner had set everything for the little gathering we had tonight perfectly. I could have surely done this inside the house but what was the fun in it.
A queen's throne had been made for me, and I loved that. I would like to sit there and see the demise of Claire.
"You like everything I have set up today?" I turned to look at the event planner. It was her job to make sure everything was perfect.
"You have done a remarkable job and I hope you would do the same again and better than this in the coming days." She nodded to me and left after a bit of chit chat. Looking at the time I realized I still had half an hour to go. My guests were going o arrive soon too. I had asked Ben to show it to our guests as soon as they come. Claire had been very mischievous and it was really hard to get everything in alignment but now it was.
I hated her not because she had taken Alexandro from me but to get there she had done so many wrong things for her obsession with him that the line between right and wrong had blurred for her and changed sides. Tonight her lines will be blurred once again to make her see sense.
"Valencia," I looked up to see Zach standing there.
"Yes?" He was still in the same clothes from the morning.
"Demyan has been looking for you everywhere and asked me to bring you to the hotel." I gave him a raised brow as if he was really serious. Like hell, I would go to him.
"Please tell him that sadly I don't have time right now but he can surely try later on." I saw his eyes harden because I had dismissed him and his boss with those words a bright smile.
"And while you are on it say thanks to him for this morning. It was very memorable." I let my head drop to the side with my tone nothing but dangerous. Moving away from him my hand went to my neck the necklace with his ring was no more there. I had decided to let go of it because sometimes we don't need a constant reminder about things.
I looked at my surroundings ticking the number of guests that were invited to today's party. Demyan and Natalie weren't one of them though. I would like it better if she stayed away from this dramatic moment of my family. It was all between us and then it would be over.
Or maybe not the was still one last thing left between us.
Making my way up to the throne that was made for me I settled down watching and waiting for all this to unravel.
There were many people all around the place most of them Demyan guards and a few servers from the company. I had called people here today but none the ones my family had expected. Calling out one of the servers I asked him to go and call my family to out to the party.
I was going to enjoy this too well. Asking another server for a glass of red wine I sat calmly watching Hilda, Claire, and my mother coming out with all the men following.
"Let the guest in," I told one of the Demyan's guard. They sure came in handy maybe I should hire some too. All those people who had worked here came in Dressed in their best. a few familiar faces and a few unknown. Nana came out dressed in the dress I had sent for her. Ben beside her.
I looked at him and he gave me a nod telling me that the two most awaited people had arrived. He was told to keep them apart and different rooms. Agatha one of the housekeepers who had worked here when I was here had come because she wanted to. Sarah, another young girl from a state over had come on her own because she had wanted to. Most of the people I had called have some were been a part of this house directly and indirectly. They all were the ones my family had looked down upon. The one they never thought to be of standard.
Hilda and Sienna, my mother, were the first ones to look at the people around. I had seen for years how they had treated people like they were nothing. they had become inhumane and I was sure if I had stayed with them I would have to but sadly them kicking out had taught me how tough it was.
Tonight besides bringing down Claire I wanted to thank all these people and pay them respect for working for us.
"What are all these people doing here and where are the real guests?" I saw some people's feathers unfurling at Hilda's word while Claires stood beside them looking up at me. Only if she was able to pot out the faces of these few people I could see her beautiful face turning pale.
"Well, the guests here and a few are waiting inside," I said sipping through my wine crossing my legs, and sitting on my throne which was a bit above them with a good height.
"These people are not guests!" Sienna exaggerated looking at all the faces. "There was supposed to be a party here not a servant's quarter meeting and their gathering," she gathered making me stand on my throne.
"Don't you dare disrespect them!" My voice boomed in the garden. "You are no above them if I should say you are lower than all of them." I put her in her place.
"The party you had in mind is not today but soon and you are not invited to it I might add," I informed my mother seeing anger in her eyes. Claire and Hilda each of her sides. did they really think that being together could pull me down or make me fill with fear what tiny little creatures they are.
"I'm not going to stay for this." I looked up to see Karl saying turning around.
"Aww dear brother this is my last show why don't you say for one last time." My words had him halt. He turned around looking at me with no emotion.
"I promise after this no more disturbing or pulling out your skeletons. However, if you still decide to leave I would kick you out of the house by the end of the night and the company too." I specified.
"You know I have my ways," I added smiling as I stood there near my throne. Karl stopped right there.
"Now now, Everyone I welcome you to this small party of ours. I just wanted to appreciate you all for all you had done for this family and how much you have put up with." Smiles graced many lips and none of them were from my family.
"We have got really good food and drinks for all of you being served around. Don't be shy." My words slipped being the perfect hostess.
"However before all of this, we have some serious things to talk about." I saw the fear settle in my family's eyes. Their minds would have been turning into thinking what I was going to do. Claire stood there tall the fear was there but that woman had an obsession too. Maybe I should have her send to a therapist or much better a mental hospital.
"And it involves some of you too." I took a few steps down walking down to where Agatha stood.
"Like her." The petite woman aged with time stood straighter as I reached her. With a hand over her shoulder, I looked at the three women of my family and that was when I saw fear in Claire's face. She took a step back and then another. I smiled widely as I looked at her fearful face. She knew what was coming.
"Ahh, Claire there is no pointing in running away dear," I said with a hand over Agatha's shoulder.
"Face what you have done if you really love Alexandro," I remarked knowing very well that she would stop. Alexandro on the other hand looked at me. while my father stood there with nothing but a blank expression. We both knew it well that he was over.
Claire's steps halted and she looked around. The faces from her past clicking.
"Agatha tell us about that night when Alexandro was drunk. What did you see?" I told her as I moved right towards Alexandro with mischieve in my eyes. He stood straighter as I came to him. Putting a finger on his cheek I let it trail down to his neck.
"That night Mr. Alexandro had come home drunk. He was very much drunk could barely stand." Agatha told us the untold truth. I looked at Claire with the glass of wine in my hand and then at Hilda while I stood beside Alexandro. He had gone stiff. They both stood straighter knowing well what was coming.
"Ms. Claire and Hilda had come to his rescue." I saw the look on Alexandro's face. He didn't know this and he should hear it well.
"I thought maybe they would take him to his room or maybe yours but I saw them going towards the guest room. I had thought maybe it was because of Mr. Alexandro's fight with you," she told as a server gave her a drink. Everyone looked at her with curiosity.
"Did you know that dear Alexandro?" I asked, and he shook his head in denial. I could see this was going to break him and it didn't matter to me at all. "Continue Agatha," I smiled as I sipped through my wine from beside him.
"Well, he had dropped his wallet at the door. I had gone to return it to him taking the path where they were going but when I reached there I saw Ms. Claire and Hilda leading him into Ms. Claire's room. I was shocked but I didn't stop there. Three of them were inside and the door was ajar. I heard Claire and Hilda talking." She took a sip of her drink and then looked at distaste Claire and Hilda.
"Hilda talked about some drug that will keep him asleep and," she paused her eyes looking at everyone.
"Don't be afraid Agatha," I told stepping away from Alexandro and moving to my dearest Claire. Putting a hand over her head I moved as if she was a small child. I could feel the fear rolling out of her in fear. Hilda turned to look at her brother and I saw Alexandro shaking his head at her in utter disappointment.
"It's almost embarrassing Ms. Valencia. I wish I could have told you back then. it's so disgusting to even speak. To see a sister letting it happen to her brother is more disgusting." She said with her face scrunched from how she felt.
"Then I think everyone should know the truth, Agatha. We should see the true colors of these two women." I told her as I felt tears roll down Claire's cheeks as I stood beside her.
"Hilda had given a drug to Claire something similar to viagra and a drug called Rohypnol." She paused looking with disgust at them. "I didn't know what it was but before I could hear more Hilda saw me and scolded me. She asked me to leave right then and there to never come back. She threatened that she would put the blame of robbing jewels from her and send me to jail. I had gone away at the same moment."
Alexandro shook his head in disbelief feeling as if he was going to faint. His expression was something like that of a dead body. He had lost his color.
Hilda stood with her head in shame and Claire just cried. Falling down to her knees she sobbed. Karl stood anger in his gaze as he looked at Hilda and Claire.
"I researched and putting all the pieces together I understood what had happened that night." She said before slipping out the bitter truth of the obsession.
"That night Claire had been the one to rape Alexandro and the worst part is that Hilda let it happen. She let her own brother get raped." Everyone's eyes went to the two women who we were talking about. The first dead old skeleton slipping out of the closet.
Alexandro fell to his knees, beating the ground with his fists. Eyes judging both of them as they were the witches who needed to be hung down from the tree.
Would they look beautiful if I did that? Hung them from the tree with a noose around their neck.
Rape.
The worst kind of thing anyone had to go to through and a sister helping was not wrong and evil.
I looked at Alexandro with tears in those eyes he looked broken. I could have consoled him but the point was I didn't need to. This wasn't what broke us it was him choosing her that broke us.
He chose his rapist and now he had to live with that knowledge weighing him down for the rest of his life.
Claire's downfall is here.
