A hello to the ridiculously small amount of people that will ever see this! Lately, an editor of the Werewolf/Paranormal/Romance novel named "Her Returned Mate" asked me to review their book, so here, a review of North Rose's "Her Returned Mate".

-Synopsis-

Rayne, a beta in the Jade Moon Pack, gets forced to attend the annual Moonlight Ball in order to meet her mate. Refusing the destiny forced upon her by her pack, she runs away. After five years of disappearing from the world, she meets her mate once again and a saga of train wrecks and emotions gets brought on the two werewolves.

-Thoughts-

Personally, I do enjoy a bit of fluff here and there, maybe some real romance sometimes, but overall, I'm not the biggest fan of romance. With the three chapters I've read up till now, I think I can say that the plot is decently interesting. I'm not really into werewolf novels, but I do like the idea of a character fleeing their life as a member of a pack to go live a regular life. It's intriguing and I think it could make room for a good storyline. Yet, overall, I feel some of the points are pretty boring.  I personally don't really enjoy certain features about the characters, like how the main character is the typical girl whose parents died when she was young and treated badly by her family members. They reached out to me telling me their book was contender for number one in paranormal, so I think the characters could be more original. 

The grammar and punctuation isn't exactly the best, and I did spot some mistakes, but there's nothing major and I'd say the writing is definitely better than a lot of books I've seen.

From what I've read so far, the characters are pretty bland, with basically half of the relevant characters I've seen so far being either antagonists who are pretty antagonists for absolutely no reason other than the fact that they are 1.horny, 2. just plain annoying. There's not much that makes the main character stand out above the rest other than not being horny, and I just think that that's not the best impression to give the readers, not to mention that you have to pay to see the rest, so you can't exactly recognize the traits in the MC that would make her likeable and want us to keep reading. 

I've only read the free chapters, and so far, I don't feel like continuing to read the book, solely based on what I've seen so far. It could get interesting, but honestly, it hasn't gotten good enough for me to decide to keep reading.

It's probably good for those who enjoy Romance/Werewolf/Paranormal, but not for me.

Going in a pretty nice direction, I can't judge a book properly from only the beginning, grammar and punctuation is pretty good, characters not very interesting so far, could change.

I'm not the best candidate to rate a book of a genre I don't read, so take everything I've said with a grain of salt.
