Therapy

The eerie sound of silence filled the room as I sat across from Dr. Stewart on her comfy, auburn, cotton filled sofa. We stared into one another's eyes as we waited for me to answer her question about my social life.

She sat elegantly with her leg on top of the other, in her hands were a clipboard of papers and a pen.

"I'll ask again, have you interacted with people other than your sons?" She said softly. I watched her pen ready to scribble whatever I had to say down, that's one thing about therapists, they're always noting everything.

"No, I only speak to other people if I have to, like right now." I said nonchalantly.

All I'm here to do is get better and then go on with my life, I don't need any friends or outside family, I have my family, the one I created.

Dr. Stewart began writing and I re observed her to see if anything is different from the last time I came here. She's still going to the gym, stressed, rich, and- oh this is new.

Seems like my therapist isn't a fiancé anymore. Her big ass 2 carat diamond ring isn't on her finger. I know she didn't take it off, it's something I hear her brag about around her friends.

I'm pretty sure she'll give up anything right now just to get that ring back. I took a real good look at her, a deeper one. This time I chose to examine every small detail.

From her slightly disheveled hair to the constant phone checking she does when she hears her notification sound goes off. Aren't we not supposed to have phones in here? If she can have hers why can't I have mine?

Anyways back to what I was saying, she's gone through a tough break up. It's practically making her look her most decent, normally she looks perfect. That was one of her major goals, to look perfect.

Dr. Stewart cleared her throat, getting my attention to her. She smiled, "Ok so let's talk about that, you've somewhat made progress in our other topics but this one. So let's focus on getting you to be...more social."

I groaned with my eyes rolling back, there's nothing wrong with being anti-social. Whatever she's gonna tell me to do, I'm not doing it.

"Before our next appointment, I want you to go out more, you can even take your kids. Do something fun like go to the beach. While your doing that be sure to engage with those around you."

She's over her head, thinking I'll be a friendly and sweet to random people out on the streets. They could be crazy! Heck they could be after me, you never know people's intentions.

"I'll pass, I live best when there aren't any constant nuisances around." I said before getting up to leave an hour before our session was over. Dr. Stewart was use to me leaving at random times other than the actual time I'm supposed to be leaving.

Haha, once I left 5 minutes into the session.

"Think about what I said, Ms. Williams, it could be good for you." She said sweetly before I closed the door.

I arrived home to Zain making a mess in my house, there were clothes, shoes, and bags all over the floor, oh and my furniture in different places.

He thrashed my house in search for something, this boy has no care in the world for my house. I take great pride in my house's neatness and cleanliness, now it's a jungle filled mess.

"Boo!"

"Ahhh!" My sarcastic yell was emphasized as I put my hands up in my non-existent fear. Ant's poor attempt to scare me from hiding under a pile of clothes really put a stop to my beating heart.

Putting my keys on the table that was centered in a circle of couches, I picked up Ant and sat down on my middle couch with him on my lap and together we watched his brother destroy my living room.

He doesn't even know I'm here, he's too busy and occupied in his search mission. I left him and his brother home together like I always do, only to come back with the most neatest room in my house being rearranged by my crazy 7 year old.

"I can't find it." Zain muttered to himself before he moved on to look at my bookshelf. Then I watched him get up off knees and onto his feet, he strolled on over to the bookshelf and began pulling book by book off of the shelves. As he reached higher Zain struggled more.

A book fell on top Zain's head resulting to a series of laughter coming out of Ant. The frustrated Zain turned around ready to give Ant an ear full, "That's not funny! It's hurts." He said crying while rubbing his head before he finally noticed my presence.

Zain froze mid-wiping of his tears, oh he knows what's gonna happen. I can already hear his heart beat speeding up, "M-mommy? I didn't know y-you were here. When did you come home?"

I shrugged my shoulders in boredom, "About 10 minutes ago."

Zain pouted and came closer to me, ready to rant on what's got him going mad. "Mommy I can't find my car, I put it on the table before I had went to make Ant a sandwich and when I came back it was gone! Mommy that's my favorite car." He wailed.

I couldn't take him seriously with Ant constantly trying to talk to me about the bad service Zain gave him while I was away. He constantly tapped my shoulder while saying:"Zay, no open T.V."
"I want T.V."
"Mommy, mommy, T.V."

Coming to the conclusion that Ant took the car, I put Ant down and said, "Go get Zain's car." Ant's eyes squinted in betrayal and anger before he went through the pile of clothes that he was hiding under. He pulled out Zain's small red toy car and gave it to him.

Ant growled and crossed his arms over his chest in anger, "How did you know he had my car?" Zain asked after his moment of glee.

"You didn't turn on the T.V., you should know Ant comes after your things when he doesn't have his way." I said smiling down at the angry Ant.

Getting up I took Ant's reluctant hand and maneuvered around my messy living room so I can get to my room, "I want this room the same way I had it before I left and better. You got an hour."
