Brunet tailed me the whole day, talking and talking about how dire the situation he put himself in is. My kids loved the fact that he was here, which very much annoyed me especially to the point where they invited him to stay the night.

Does he not have anywhere to go? Why does he always accept their offers about staying or eating with us? I'm not a hospice!

"You know Brunet, there's a hotel not far from here, it's just a few miles down the main road." I said sending him my famous knock-off smile.

Brunet looked up from taking a bite out of the the meal I cooked. He smiled back, "Oh, that's nice but I wouldn't want to ruin my plans with Zain and Ant. We're gonna build a fort after dinner and have a sleepover."

Zain quickly nodded his head, agreeing with Brunet. "Yes, yes! And we're gonna stay up all night watching Marvel movies!!" He said happily.

Grrrrrrr!

I took an angry bite out of my food as I watch my sons interact with Brunet like he's the last person they'll ever see. I give them everything they want, but once this idiot pulls up they immediately drop what they have and indulge with him.

He needs to go.

"Gosh you both are growing up so fast, it's been 4 months since I last seen you both." Daniel said, sounding like a happy uncle. He better not think of himself as their uncle, that title isn't his.

Zain giggled, "Hey, guess what?"

Brunet rubbing his head and pierced his lips out to portray that he was thinking, "Your finally a football fan." Brunet said confidently. What is up with this dude and football? He's been trying to get Zain to like it, which by the way he doesn't. Zain doesn't even understand the concept of the game.

Zain shook his head no, "Think again."

Brunet gasped, "You! You like someone." He said googling his eyes, and repeatedly raising his eyebrows. This is ridiculous, Zain doesn't even talk to girls.

"No, I gained speed! I beat my recent time of 13.48 by a whole minute!"

Brunet spit out his drink and bulged out his eyes at Zain in unbelief, making Ant and Zain laugh at the crazy face he made. "Your kidding me right?"

Zain shook his head no and pointed at me, "Ask mommy."

Now all eyes were on me, "You should really consider putting Zain in a sport, he has the energy and talent." Brunet said seriously.

I deadpanned him with my mug expression, who is he to tell me what to do with my kid? Zain never asked to be in a sport, he only asked for me to train him. What he got from that training will be used when he's in danger.

Even if he were to ask me to be in a sport, I'd reject that request. If Zain finds a great passion in that sport that he decides to want to make a career out of that, I wouldn't want those dreams crushed when my past mistakes come running after him to get to me.

He'll end up having to give up his dreams so he can protect his family.

"Zain doesn't even go to school and you want him in a sport. His anti-socialism will keep him from enjoying the sport." I said, coming up with an excuse, which at the same time is the truth.

Brunet rubbed Zain's head, messing up his already frizzing hair. "Awe don't worry about that, I'm pretty sure once he warms up to his mates he'll be the best he can be."

I hate when he does that, he basically curves my excuses and quickly make up a solution. It's good in his work field but in my life it's not, I like how things are now and I don't wanna change it.

"And why haven't you put him in school yet? He's missing out on a lot of instructional time." Brunet inquired.

"I don't wanna go to school." Zain said, speaking up. See there, a perfect reason not to put him in school. Good job Zain.

"At school you can have lots of friends and become a genius." Brunet said reasoning with him. I rolled my eyes, "Leave him alone, school, sports, it's all bullshit-"

"Language!" Ant and Zain yelled out at the same time. Taking in a breath, I cleared all the profanity out of the sentence I was about to say and rephrased it in my head before speaking.

"Sorry. School and Sports are unnecessary, I can teach Zain and Ant what's really needed to survive in this deadly world." I said.

From the look on Brunet's face it was obvious that he didn't agree with me. We've been over this school matter for a while, and it's always been the same response out of me.

He cleared his throat while putting down his utensil, "Well at least get these boys to see their family once in a while, they really-"

"Cut it out Brunet." I said interrupting him.

Wiping my mouth with my napkin, I proceeded to say, "You of all people know that I want nothing to do with the Williams. Zain and Ant are fine, they're not normal kids that need socializing and all that other crap."

He scoffed, "You really need to get over that pettiness you have with your folks. Maybe if you've had a nice chat with them then you'd realize how stupid you've been this whole time. Oh and you'll also notice that Zain's a little behind for kids his age. It's great that he at least knows how to read and write small words, but what about the basics of math or expanding his reading knowledge. You can't keep him in the shadow forever Janunu."

Brunet words rang in my head, he's gotta a point, but still, I can teach Zain those things my myself. I don't need to send him to school, he can stay right here at home with me and his brother.

"Zain and Ant don't need to go to school when they have me, so back off and worry about your own dying family." I said, hurting him where it hurts. His wife got diagnosed with some type of cancer last year after she gave birth to their daughter. Her symptoms are getting worst by the day and soon she'll die, leaving him with their kid.

I don't understand why Brunet like to think that he's apart of my family but he really needs to stop. He's bringing up topics I don't want to partake in. Maybe I should move, maybe that'll get him to leave us alone.

"Well anyways, I'm going to bed, Brunet you know what to do." I said before abruptly leaving the table.

Tonight I made sure to use extra dishes when I was making dinner, so that the fool sitting at my table can spend extra time contemplating on why he came to my house. His ass finna clean my dishes and clear my table, if your a guess in my house don't expect not to do anything. Your gonna work for a stay at my house.
