Heir
"My precious light, don't ever show your fear. People will use it against you"
"Keep your head up Zain, you're my crown, I need you shining at your brightest."
"A King like yourself shouldn't let people ruin his happiness."
"Our world is different from others, we're warriors who can't stop fighting."
"Don't breathe through your mouth, you have a nose for a reason."
"Whenever you fall, pick yourself back up. I don't ever wanna see you depending on others when you have yourself."
"You're smart, baby. That brain of yours will create master plans one day."
"Remember this Zain, you're a Williams by blood so you fight whatever and whoever to stay alive."
"Protect your brother, Zain."
Every lesson my mommy has taught me kept repeating over and over in my head. Her voice echoed all throughout my thoughts, it's like she was still with me...but she's not.
My mommy is gone and what's left is her body. Ant and I watched the men in black lower the box that mommy was in, in the ground.
I wanna go with her too, I can't live on without her. She's my mommy! Mommy, I miss you!
Ant looked up at me as I held onto him tightly, "Mommy...w-where's mommy?" He asked me quietly.
People around us were starting to leave and the once quiet graveyard became a chattering social environment. My mommy never knew these people, why are there so many people here?
"Mommy is gone...she's with Grandpa now." I whispered to my brother. He probably still doesn't understand since he thinks Grandpa is still alive.
Ant frowned at yet another thought of mommy abandoning us, "I-I...I wanna go."
I shook my head, "No, we can't see mommy and Grandpa now. It's too early." I said, disappointing my brother. He groaned lowly before he laid his head on my side.
The adults made sure for Ant not to see mommy during the ceremony since he's young and will probably believe she's sleeping.
When I saw her, she looked different. I remember mommy having a three small beauty marks on her face. Two on her right cheek and one in her left. I saw two marks, the third one wasn't there.
I also remember mommy having a small, barely noticeable scar on her cheek...but when I looked at her it wasn't there.
Her skin color was very pale and cold, but I guess that happens when people die, so I didn't think much about it.
But my point is, my mommy looked different.
"Are you guys ready to go?"
Brunet approached us with a small smile on his face, it was clear as day that he's trying to make us feel better.
"Can-"
"Hey" I heard that familiar lady say as she interrupted us. That lady is Momo, if I can remember enough, I think she's my Auntie.
She looked at Ant and I with a big smile before squatting down to our height. Her smile was heartwarming and she did look a lot like mommy, but her aura was so different from mommy's.
"I know you both must feel devastated, I understand how it feels to loose a loved one."
Her eyes kept moving from between Ant and I, awaiting for some sort of reaction from us. The kids and people behind her was watching from a distance but they're still in an ear's shot of our conversation.
Brunet cleared his throat, "Um, Momo what are you doing here? Is Unique's funeral over as well?" He asked.
Unique? I remember that name, sadly I don't remember a face to go with it.
The lady looked up at Brunet, "Yes it is, I'm here to see my sister's grave, then take her kids home with me. That's what she'd want."
Huh? I thought we were gonna go back to Grandma's house. Where's Grandma?! I don't wanna go with her!
Momo put her hand out and was about to touch Ant when I slapped it away, "Don't touch my brother!" I yelled at her and quickly pulled Ant and I behind Brunet.
Brunet put an arm around us before looking back at the frowning lady, "Janunu's last wish was for me to protect her kids. I'm sorry but they can't go home with you."
"No...w-what? Why would she want that. We're her family, she...she loves us." The lady said, her voice was starting to break as she realize my mommy actually never really liked her.
"Unfortunately, Janunu has legally put her death wishes into plan way before her time. By tomorrow her descendants's last name will be changed."
A low gasp came from the lady before she finally let out her tears. "S-she actually changed it? Oh God."
Pulling on Brunet's sleeve, I made him give me his attention. "I wanna see Grandma. I don't wanna be here anymore." I said.
He nodded before looking back at the lady, "You all have a good rest of your day, I am truly sorry for you losses."

"Have you babies been eating? Both of you look skinny?" Grandma said as she laid in her hospital bed.
Two days before mommy died, Grandma had to get hospitalized. She's getting pretty old but at least she's still here. There were these guys who always wore red that were taking care of us, until Brunet came and took us.
Those guys showed us lots of pictures of mommy and some guy. The guy was her boyfriend and she looked really happy in all the photos.
I wanted to show mommy those photos but unfortunately I can't, so now I hold onto them as another reminder of her.
"We've eaten Grandma." I answered her shortly.
She opened her mouth but paused, whatever she had to say must've slipped her mind. "I've lost most of my sons in such a short notice, but I was blessed to have you two as my grandsons. I know this is sudden but...you both have to be careful. Your mother is dead and so is your father, both your parents had enemies, they won't be afraid to come for you now."
I scoffed, "Grandma, I'm the product of Earth's most dangerous people, I'll be twice as bad as my parents. If their enemies come for us, I won't be afraid to end them."
Mommy would always say, "Let the dogs come get a lick of your bone, they'll die within seconds from your deadly poison."
I'll live up to your name mommy and you definitely won't be forgotten.
The End
