Chapter:2

The picture above is the wedding dress she is wearing. This photo belongs to its rightful owner. And no the lady is not Cassandra. I usually did not give a reference for the character. I want you to imagine how they look.

*********

Present

Coltrane sighed waking up early was one thing but not sleeping at all was another. He sits up slowly and the room feels colder. The whole mansion was occupied by him and a few servants. But she will be here after the ceremony. He sighed as a soft smile graced his face.

He brushed his teeth and freshen up. He has too much time. Not knowing what to do he called Jeremy. At first, it went to answering mode. But the moment he put his cellphone down. Jeremy called back.

"Hello" Jeremy's voice sounds normal.

" Where are you?" Coltrane asked.

"Airport" Jeremy nonchalant words warned him.

"Which?" He asked suspiciously. Jeremy laughed awkwardly at his tone.

"Don't worry I will be there during the ceremony" Jeremy answered.

"You are the best man. You need to be here before the wedding" Coltrane said.

"Sorry Man I need to take the flight," Jeremy said, cutting the call. Jeremy feels guilty about that as he makes his way to the airport runway.

Coltrane pulled his phone from his ear staring at it for a while. Does coming here still hurts Jeremy?

He shakes his head. Now is not the time for him to think about this. He should have asked him before making the wedding arrangement. Jeremy might have kept silent for their happiness.

He walked out of the room, "Young master your breakfast is ready" Meera bowed to him. He gives a nod.

"Should I drive you to the wedding?" Ben asked. He was the head of the security.

"No, I will take my car," he said walking out of the house. The weather is a bit cold as he gets inside the car. He went straight to the dressing room where his stylist was waiting.

After a while, Cassandra sighed, pulling herself together and wiped her tears. She takes a deep breath and relaxes her passive expression. As much as she wanted to run away she could not. She needs to take responsibility for her words with that determination, she makes her way to the dressing room.

The moment she entered, it felt like she was in a different world. A world far apart from her daily life. There were renowned stylists.

She smiled at them politely. Trying not to roll her eyes as they stare at her choice of dressing.

"You are getting paid for this right?" She asked, glaring at them. She did not mean to snap at them. They flinched, shocked at her change of behaviour. Her smile dropped. She was trying to be polite but they are just wasting her time.

"I am sorry," A girl said. She kept her face blank.

"It's fine" her words were cold, chilling them. She is totally different from when she came to their salon before.

They start working on her. She let them do whatever they want without any protest as fast as they could be done with dolling her up the better.

She put on her dress. The dress fitted her perfectly. They pulled her hair in a loose bun making her wear diamond earrings with a necklace. She applied eyeliner and brown colour shadow to keeping it natural. They applied a soft peach lipstick. She stares at her reflection bitterness filling her in .

"You are looking beautiful," that lady said. She wanted to snap at her, 'No, I look like Catherine rather than beautiful' but she kept that remark to herself biting her lips.

"It's almost time" someone knocked on the door. She takes a deep breath and stands up. The weight of the white silk wedding dress weighing her down, she almost felt suffocated.

The door of the changing room opened as her father looked at her for the first time. She stilled as the opening show of her nightmare began.

"Catherine?" Her first thought was that he knew who she was but he reacted normally.

He did not give those speeches which father usually does looking at his daughter in her wedding dress. She pulled her veil down and walked out straight, not bothering to hold his hand.

As she takes the first few steps it becomes suffocating. This is bad, she thought. An uncertainty gripped her heart as nervousness washed over. Her father walked her down the aisle. Her lips set in a straight line.

Everyone is staring at her how much time has passed since she mingled with the crowd. She gripped the boutique of flowers in her hand, a suffocating feeling built up. She was feeling like the wall would collapse on her for the first time. She felt intimidated by a large group of people. She chuckled softly 'So, something really did change'. She choked on her own laugh as her eyes landed on him. She stilled stopping on her steps.

Coltrane was standing tall in his 6 feet height wearing a black tuxedo. His black hair was perfectly set. He smiled at her softly, his grey eyes softening. The bitterness of the situation washed over her again as her emotions ran wilder than she thought. He is breathtakingly handsome just like the first time she saw him.

Her father took her hand and put it on his, she almost flinched. She took a deep breath unable to control her irregular heartbeat. She tensed up.

"Relax" he whispered, softly kissing their hand. She wanted to snatch away her hand but hold on to that urge.

How much time has it been since she held his hand? He softly presses her hand in reassurance as if telling her everything will be fine. Nothing is going to be fine, nothing. She was wondering how he can be so relaxed?

Was it only her who is making the situation awkward?

The veil is covering her head, he couldn't get a glimpse of his soon to be wife. A smile spread across his usually blank stoic face. After all, she is the woman he loves for a long time.

This might be the most important event for any woman but she felt suffocated. She looked around ignoring the priest's words, all this glimmering golden silk decoration with the enhancement of pink and white flowers gave an ethereal look, princess shape white dress, everything described as a fairytale wedding except the groom is not her.

'What am I doing?' She asked herself closing her eyes for a while. When she opened her eyes, it fall on her so-called mother, 'A business deal, being her replacement' she looked away as the reality crashed on her.

She felt a nudge on her hand as her attention landed on him. He felt a flash of anger pass through him for her ignorant behaviour. This is because of her arrangement now she is ignoring it? The question is why?

"What is it?" she asked him coldly. Coltrane gives her a confused look before shaking his head. She focused on the priest as he continues or repeats. She has no idea what she missed.

"Do you Catharine Rosella Walmart take Coltrane Flynn Mayor as your lawful wedded husband to hold him in sickness and in health. To be true in good times and in bad. To love and honour till death do you apart?" The moment Father asked her. She blinked, hearing the name stung her, her eyes directed towards her mother who smirks at the arrangement. She grit her teeth. This can't be happening, her world crashes as she looks at his love-filled soft eyes. Staring at her pleasing not to break his heart. She rolled her eyes. It's not like she needs to do anything to break his heart. Is not it already broken then why will she put effort? A smirk crosses her lips.

If she is going to suffer like this she will make him suffer too...

Cassandra closed her eyes. If her mother tried to play games both can play right. She keeps her voice calm.

"I do," she said calmly, not giving her mother satisfaction.

"Do you Coltrane Flynn Mayor take Catharine Rosella Walmart as your lawful wedded wife to hold her in sickness and in health. To be true in good times and in bad. To love and honour till death do you apart?"

"I do" she feels him squeeze her hand in assurance as she rolled her eyes. The ring is exchanged. She felt the weight on her finger and the urge to throw up was getting stronger. This is absurd.

"Now you may kiss the bride"

Now what? Are you fucking kidding me? She glared at the father.

Knowing her mother she knows, Coltrane has no idea about the replaced bride. Well, it's not like it's her problem. She was supposed to take Catherine's place. She did, now it's not her problem if this gets publicly exposed. Everyone will know what a farce of marriage this is. But the only problem will they recognize the difference?

She clicked her tongue inaudibly annoyed at that fact. She doubts anyone will recognize the difference.

He turned her towards him, his finger tucked her naked shoulder. She flinched as he slowly removed the veil above her head.

She looked at him straight in the eyes, her eyes blank as she gave him a bored look. All the trace of warmth vanished as he stared at her coldly.

At first, she thought he was faking his emotions but the Coltrane she knows is always truthful about his emotions.

Nothing happened.

Not that she wanted anything to happen. He was looking at her with that same shocked face. She can hear the crowd waiting for the kiss.

She sighed, the last thing she wanted was being kissed by him, never.

She stands there with an aloof look on her face feeling her mother's glare burning a hole on her head, her mouth lifted up as she smirked for the first time till all this started she is starting to enjoy this. She was about to step back when a hand which was on her shoulder a while ago, gripped her waist. Everyone can feel the tension but no one objected  thinking they were lost in each other's eyes.

"What the fuck are you doing here?" Coltrane growled slowly. She just rolled her eyes.

"Can't you see what am I doing?" She mocked him.

"I can but this will not end up good for you if you keep spouting nonsense" he glares at her anger flash through his eyes as his grip tightens. She winched.

"Let go of me this instant and don't touch me" She glared at him intensely. The more she tried to move the stronger his hold on her got.

"I would not have touched you if you are not here in the first place" he whispered, his voice almost sounds threatening.

"Oh trust me, the last place I want to be. Is there?" She snapped back.

"I would not have if your bride didn't have any runway excursion" she grits her teeth not letting him see her in pain. Cassandra put her hand on his which was gripping her waist trying to release.

The waiting crowd started to cheer for the kiss. He glares at her as she returns back. He has a reputation to hold, so he moves forward for a pretend kiss. They will continue this conversation later at least that's what he thought when her words only increased his anger.

"Don't you dare kiss me" she glared at him. He returns the glare with hatred.

"Trust me the last thing I wanted to do is kiss you" he whispered with chilling coldness.

"But that was before, now that you are standing here, wearing that ring. I will kiss my bride" he forcefully takes her lips between his biting on her lower lip which was hurt from before. Blood fills her lips as his tongue invades her mouth. He did not let her fight or struggle. His grip on her waist makes the pain unbearable.

Coltrane feels her hand moving. He let go of her waist, grabbing her hand from making a scene in front of the crowd bending it behind her back. He pulled her closer. Everyone clapped and cheered for them. He removed his lips, her eyes filled with unwanted tears.

"Try and stop me," his cold whisper threatened her.

His lips crashed on her lips again pushed her in another punishing kiss. That's when he felt something warm and wet on his cheek. He left her out of breath letting her hand go. She controlled her tears but a lone tear fell anyway.

"Why are you crying, love?" He mocked her as her eyes split fire at him. She wanted to slap him right across the face but she holds back not in front of the crowd or her mother will hold it over her head.

"I thought how lucky Catherine is that she ran away from you" Cassandra coldly jabbed him. No, she will not let him win.

"What did you just say?" He glares at her with hatred.

"You heard me," she smirked, mocking him. Before he could say or do anything she pulled her veil down, taking a steps away from him. Her hand feels like burning from the way he held her, a red mark will definitely form. But what was worse was the burning sensation on her waist.

She looks at the crowd to see many known faces. She have no wish for a reunion and avoiding the people will be best.

"I pronounce you Man and Wife" He moves forward, the idea that he will again put his hand on her waist makes her shudder. She steps back holding out her hand forcefully so that it seems like she wanted to hold his hands.

Coltrane takes it, she feels him again gripping her hand. She smirked digging her nails on his hand, he immediately let go glaring at her. He moved forward removing her veil.

"Please sign this" the lawyer standing beside the priest's hands over the marriage registry paper for them to sign. He signed it without looking at the contract while she thoroughly read the paper only to see Catherine'sname written on the paper. She will never let her mother plan go successful. A smile formed on her lips as she signed her name and handed over the paper.

The thought that this marriage registry will be rejected, makes her chuckle. This is hilarious.

"You think this is amusing" his cold voice makes her look at him.

"Yes, it is" she raises her eyebrows for him to object.

She is about to walk away from him when he grabbed her hand and pulled her towards him. She collided with him, her heel breaking due to the force as pain shot through her ankle.

"Where the fuck do you think you are going?" He growled in her ear people look at the sweet romancing going on as that is what it looks like to them at least.

"None of your business" Cassandra snapped at him as pain shot through her ankle. His grip tightens around her wrist.

"Start speaking" Coltrane hissed, pulling her closer, not bothered at the fact that she hurt her leg. She winched.

"About what?" She snapped.

"You know very well about what?" He glares at her.

"No, I don't. Please enlighten me" she rolled her eyes.

"Where is she?" He asked as his hold tightened around her wrist. She bites her lips stopping a scream closing her eyes for a bit, exhaling.

"I d..." before she could yell those words he kissed her muffling her voice. He just pressed his lips against her to keep it shut, a pain shot through her mouth.

"Don't you dare scream?" He warned her coldly.

"What are you going to do?" She raised her eyebrows challenging him.

"Worse than what I did?" His word held hatred which he felt for her.

"What do you expect me to do? Cower away? Get scared of you? That is not gonna happen. So, You can go and fuck yourself" she struggled to get out of his hold.

"Oh! Is that so?" He spatted as he gripped her hand. She holds her breath, forcing herself to endure the pain. She will never give him the satisfaction of hurting her.

A bruise will definitely form on her wrist.

A tap on his shoulder halters his bubbling hatred. He turns to look at the intruder. Leaving her hand to hear a sigh of relief, but immediately he feels a grip on his hand. She was about to fall when she grabbed the first thing that came near her hand. He stilled and silently stood there when the intruder held her hand asking, "Can I have a moment with her please?"

"Yeah" he turns around. She let go of his hand and grip Austin's shoulder. She hugged him, closing her eyes.

Past

They took a seat on the table for four. Cassandra was sitting beside Coltrane and Jeremy was sitting opposite of her. He looked uninterested as he ate his food. Catherine awkwardly looked at him for a bit but started eating.

"Flynn...?" Coltrane was amused at the way she called. She blinked her eyes.

"No one uses Flynn, it's my middle name" he stares at her for an answer.

"I like that name more than Coltrane though" She shrugged her shoulder smiling cheekily.

"You introduce your full name. So I will make a use of it. And besides, did you hear your name C-O-L-T-R-A-N-E it's too big" Coltrane rolled his eyes at her ridiculed explanation.

"Well, did you hear your name
C-A-S-S-A-N-D-R-A it's bigger than mine. So, what shall I call you?" He asked her with a smirk. She flinched at his words.

"Cassandra, Cassey or Cass. Whatever you like?" She shrugged her shoulders.

"I need your middle name," he said.

"I don't have a middle name," Cassandra said. Coltrane looked at her shocked, tilting his head.

"What's her full name?" He turned to Catherine and asked, pointing at her.

"Cassandra Walmart," Cath replied, looking down for a moment.

"Sandra, How does it sound ?" He asked not to give up.

"That does not sound much different, though" she rolled her eyes and started digging in her food.

"Well, well well look who is here?" They looked up at them. They surrounded their table.

"If you don't know who is here, why are you around?" Cassandra asked, raising her eyebrows. Jeremy and Coltrane chuckled at her words while Catherine sits here stiffly.

"You found yourself a mouth bitch" the most beautiful girl among them came out. Her blonde straight hair rested above her shoulder with equally striking blue eyes. She is the picture perfect beauty.

"Oh!my you have eye defects darling if you can't even see my mouth," Cassandra said standing up. The sound of snickering could be heard throughout the room. She glares at her. Cassandra rolled her eyes.

"You are here for me. Right?" Catherine asked standing up before Cassandra did some more damage without realizing who she was.

She is definitely older than them. She turned to walk away not interested in the conversation anymore.

"I will make you pay" She yelled at Catherine who flinched.

"And you??" She turns at her.

"I will see you" the moment Cassandra heard those words, she pulled the blond haird girl closer to her.

"What do you want to see?" Their breath mixed as she flushed before running away. That was the last strike before Coltrane and Jeremy started laughing out loud followed by everyone in the cafeteria.

"Why would you do something like that?" Catherine asked as tears of frustration filled her eyes. She will pay for this and she knows that.

"She should not have mistaken me for you" Cassandra rolled her eyes.

"So, Who was she anyway?"

"Sabrina," Catherine said before walking out of the cafeteria.

"What happened to her?" Jeremy asked. Coltrane sighed mouthed an 'I will tell you later before following her'

She stares at them wondering if she did something wrong.

Jeremy stands up finishing his food.

"Hey"

************

Present day..

"Hey" Austin's voice snapped her back to reality. She was gripping his shoulder tightly.

"Are you trying to break my shoulder?" Austin asked as Cassandra let go only for her to fall forward. He holds her.

"I break my heels " She forced a smile at him with watery eyes. He put her hand on his shoulder.

"Hold on to me" Austin bent down, slowly removing her shoes. He touched her foot.

"It just cramped your feet '' he massaged her foot before pulling it in a weird direction.

"Ouch," she winched.

"Put your foot down, it will be fine" she did as he asked her. Her pain vanished.

"So, What are you doing?" He asked, raising his eyebrows. She sighed, she can't tell him that it was because of those documents she did it but lying was not an option for her.

"You can see what's going on" Cassandra replied sarcastically.

"No, I don't know what's going on here" Austin snapped. The dread he was feeling before coming here refreshed in his mind.

He asked, looking at her from up to down. "Aren't we supposed to attend your sister's wedding? So, why are you the one in the wedding dress?"

"It's a long story" she rolled her eyes at him. He glares at her.

"I will tell you later" She looked at him seriously this time. He sighed.

"At least give me a reason," He asked her. Coltrane stands beside them talking to other people and keeping a close eye on her.

"She ran away," she said a little loudly, rubbing her head.

"And you married in her place" she nods her head.

" Great I believe you, now give me the real reason" He rolled his eyes before staring at her. She looked uncomfortable.

Their conversation stopped when someone came in front of her.

"What the....." her words trailed off as her eyes widened. She doesn't want to meet him, not that she wants to meet anyone from the past.

Will he recognize her? As the thoughts wander. The last thing she wanted for everyone to know who she is.

"Cassandra?" He looked shocked.

This is it another chapter which I rewrite. It's almost 3.8K. Yeah I know I am very inconsistent about how much words I write. It basically tallies from 3000 to 4000.

Thank you for reading dearest.

Do share your thoughts and comment. Constructive criticism is always welcome.

I would have written something along the line like, Can you guess who is he?

But most of you already know who he is? And those who don't please wait for the next chapter.

Until next time...
