~Lucy's POV
"Lucy, go to bed," Erza sighed. I shook my head while reading a book, my concentration at its peak. I haven't gone to bed for a day, keeping myself in the books. There must be a way to undo the spell. I can't just let the fact go that without me, Levy would be okay.
There has to be a way.
I wanted to destroy the paper with what it did to Levy, but I cohldn't. This was the prove that the spell is real and that I wasn't imagining things. Suddenly yellow light shone from my key and Aquarius appeared.
She was glaring at me.
What have I done now?
"You little brat. What were you thinking calling me?" she yelled at me. I looked at her in confusion. What the heck? I didn't call her at all. She was leaning closer to me and then suddenly stood up straight again.
"I didn't even call you."
Then suddenly she smacked me across the face and I flew back. I groaned. "What the heck?"
Aquarius went to the book on table and sighed, "You won't find anything in here."
She looked harshly at me and then looked away, her features softening, "Stop with the childish behavior. You didn't know, she didn't know, it isn't your fault."
She grabbed my arm and teleported me to the celestial world. "What are you doing?" I asked when I saw my clothes changing into the celestial world clothes. She didn't speak as she continued to drag me somewhere.
Soon all my spirits were in front of me, including Natsu. "What's going on?" I asked, a little fearful of the answer.
"Lucy..." Loki said and stepped forward. He looked at me with sympathy. "I'm sorry for what happened to Levy."
I suddenly breathed out. "Wait. You guys have lived for a very long time, don't you guys know an undo spell? Every spell has a loophole. There must be."
Nothing was said. Then after awhile they shook their head. "Do you know why she can't wake up?"
I shook my head, the answer obvious. "That's because of a barrier, ebi," Cancer said. I gestured for him to go on. "What Cancer means is that a magic concentration is blocking her power to wake up," Virgo said.
"Is there any way to go through the barrier?" I asked with tears in my eyes. If my friends didn't know it either...
They all looked away.
"G-guys?" I asked while stepping back.
"The barrier is as strong as the celestial King. You can't possibly break it."
I wanted to cry already. "But there is one other way. As we are the zodiacs," Capricorn said.
"And that is?" Ready to do everything to wake up Levy.
"As you see, the barrier is blocking her power, so she needs power. The spell may be as strong as the celestial King, but that is for outsiders. Levy herself could overpower it, because to her the barrier is as weak as a stone."
"Your point already?" I asked impatiently.
"We could teleport some power of us into her and with that power she could overwhelm the spell..." Loki began, carefully. I feel like there is a but.
"But?"
Nobody of the zodiacs said a word and I tapped my foot on the ground. Natsu sighed for the first time since I was here. "They will basically be worn out after that and it will take some days to recover. A month at least."
"No," I immediately said.
This surprised my friends. "What do you mean?" Aquarius said with her eyebrows twitching.
I crossed my arms. "Exactly like I said. I won't save my friend if my other friend has to suffer because of that."
"Stop acting like that!" Aquarius yelled at me. I stepped back while flinching. Loki's hand was clenched and Natsu's teeth was gritted while the rest looked at me with concern.
"The spell takes time. We could save her right now. We are asking your permission for one of us to do it. Don't you see it? We care about you and your well being. You didn't sleep at all because you were worried so let us help," Loki half screamed at me with a concerned look.
"They will recover, Lucy. Levy won't if we do nothing," Natsu spoke in a composed manner. I didn't know hot tears were already flowing down. This is a dilemma.
Of course I wanted to save Levy, but not at the expense of my friend.
Natsu walked to me and grabbed my hand, holding it tightly and secure. "One of us will sacrifice him- or herself and will recover within some weeks. You won't even notice it."
I shook my head. "There must be an other way."
Natsu and the zodiacs were getting irritated at me.
"Lucy. The spell will complete in about one hour... do you understand? She will die in about an hour," Natsu spoke to me like I was a child.
I sighed and wiped my tears away. "But you guys won't blame me?" I asked to everyone.
They all shook their head. "We will never blame you for something, unless it is truly your fault, but other than that, no," Aries said with a gentle smile. "I'm sorry," she continued after her sentence.
She will always stay the same.
I sunk down on my knees. "Thank you guys." I'm so fucking thankful for my friends right now.
I always am.
"But who will... give Levy power?" I asked hestitantly.
Aquarius raised her hand. I was taken by surprise, I didn't expect her out of everyone.
She rolled her eyes when my mouth went agape. "Stop looking at me like that. Let's go to this friend of yours."
Soon I was teleported to Levy's room along with Natsu, Loki and Scorpio.
Aquarius put her hand on Levy's head. "She's too smart for her own good."
In the meanwhile Loki picked the lost spell books and flipped through the pages. Sometimes he ripped some pages out of it.
"What are you doing?"
He looked at me with a expression I can't read. "This book is the cause. Some spells are harmless but some are not. I tore the dangerous ones."
Aquarius took one deep breath. "Everyone, leave. I need to concentrate."
"Sure," Scorpio said. He winked at her. "I'm going to take you out when you wake up."
Aquarius smiled, a smile I don't get to see often. "You better."
I ran to her and hugged her tightly,
"Thank you so much, Aquarius. I will see you soon." I hope.
She pushed me away and put on a glare. "Don't touch me you little brat," she snarled. I smiled and laughed mentally. Oh god I love her.
She pushed me away and I heard her muttering a spell. Loki and Natsu were watching me, ready for my outburst.
Soon we heard nothing anymore and Loki gestured to wait a little bit more.
Soon I pushed the door open and Aquarius was on the ground, unconscious. Levy still was laying on the bed. I tugged at Loki's clothes. "Why hasn't she woken up yet?"
"She needs time. But it will be all right," Loki assured me.
Natsu walked over to Aquarius and lifted her up. He put her on his shoulder and sighed. "I wanted to be the one to help her, you blue little mermaid," he muttered. I know for sure I wasn't meant to hear it. But I did.
I smiled a little and walked to Levy. Natsu did help me.
Soon my three friends stood next to me and an unconscious Aquarius carried in Natsu's arms.
Scorpio grabbed her out of his arms. "We will be going now," and they disappeared except Natsu.
Natsu walked to me and hugged me. He broke the hug and smirked at me. "We have some new training to do. You are weakening."
He did it so I would take my mind of this situation. I rolled my eyes. "You wanna bet?"
He nodded.
I went to swing my foot to him, trying to kick him. Key word on trying. I really thought I was as fast as the wind... a little bit exaggerated.
But still, I thought I was fast enough to kick him.
Instead he caught my foot and swung it up, making me upside down while he was holding my foot.
"Nice try, Luce. You're as bad as I knew you would be," Natsu said while laughing, implying he didn't mean it.
I groaned and swung my arms in every direction. "Let me go, you pink haired bastard."
He immediately let me go and I fell on my back. Luckily not on my head.
He bent down to be on the same height as I was on the ground. He was playfully glaring at me. "S-a-l-m-o-n, it's salmon, blondie."
I crossed my arm. "I prefer Luce all the way."
He smirked and stood up straight, "I call you whatever I want, blondie." He did a great job at provoking me.
"Whatever, pinky," I said, smirking back. He scowled and I knew calling him pinky annoyed him.
"Okay, okay. Stop calling my pinky and I will call you Luce or Lucy."
"Okay, salmonella."
His eyebrow twitched and I bursted out laughing. I put my hands up in defence.
"Okay, Natsu, deal."
Though I liked salmonella.
XD
