Chapter Two
Alec.
It has been almost a week since Jake saw Rayne/Raya at her bakery. He was still trying to find a way to tell Alec about her. Alec was still the man that people feared because of the reputation he built for himself in the last year and a half.
"Get me the file for Marcelo", Alec asks his secretary. Today wasn't a good day for him because of the way his mother was behaving toward him.
She has always been telling him to get back to the woman who killed the love of his life. His mother Amanda has always tried to see the good in people like Maya.
"Here is the file you requested sir", says Freya who is his secretary. He nodded and took the file.
Alec needed something to distract himself because he might end up doing something he would regret. He always remembers how Rayne used to tell him; "Anger is poison to the soul. Use your anger as something that will be productive to you and you might even gain something from it".
Rayne is and will always be the love of his life. No one could replace her because she was the only woman who managed to tame him.
He remembers her laugh, her smile, and the thing she loved to do which was baking. That's how she won his father's heart.
Alec threw the file on the table and walked out of his office.
"I am leaving. I might not come back", he informed Freya but she knew that this was one of those days that he needed to be alone.
"Yes, sir".
Meanwhile Jake was still looking for a way to tell his son about what he found out but the question remains. Will Alec believe him or will it arise more problems than solutions?
But he knew that one way or another they would have to ' accidentally ' meet. And he had to make sure that they did meet.
As Alec was walking toward his car a woman was on the other side of the road. She was trying to get a taxi for her and her daughter Jade.
As soon as Jade saw an opportunity to cross the road. She is an energetic two-year-old who needs to be monitored.
"Jade..."
A voice called out to the little girl but she was stubborn as she refused to go back to the woman.
Alec saw the little girl in the middle of the road when a truck was heading toward her. He quickly jumped into action, rushing towards the little girl.
This caused the woman to scream as Alec saved the little girl. When she was in his arms, the little girl looked at him and said; "Thank you, Sir".
Alec couldn't get his eyes off her because she had the same smile as Rayne. Her smile would light up the room.
"Thank you so much for saving my daughter...."
As he was about to answer the woman, looking at her he realized that it was none other than Rayne.
His Rayne.
His Cinderella.
But he was told that she died in the accident.
"Rayne..."
Raya/Rayne looked at him and wanted to say that she wasn't her but he didn't let her as he hugged her so tightly.
"Could you please let me go?", she tells him while trying to free herself from his arms. But he didn't want to let go.
People started gathering around them this made Axel let go of her because he didn't want any public scandal that would bring the person responsible to harm his family once again.
"Mommy..."
Alec looked at his daughter with a huge smile on his face, he couldn't believe that they were both here even though he didn't know about Jade.
"I found you again, My Rayne..."
"Not this again", said Raya/Rayne shaking her head when she remembered what happened last week.
"I am not Rayne. My name is Raya. I am sorry if that hurts you but I don't know who this Rayne is. And I hope you find her".
Alec didn't want her to leave but how could he explain to her without freaking her and their daughter.
"Ray, I will explain everything if you please come with me. I will tell you everything that I know about you", he tries to convince her.
Raya/Rayne knew that this man wasn't lying because she could see how he was towards her and how he hugged her.
"Okay, But one condition. We meet at a public place".
Alec agreed to her condition because it was the only way to be with her.
"Let's meet at the Talon's Café today in the afternoon". It was enough time for him to get the things he needed to prove to her that she was his Rayne.
His Cinderella.
The love of his life.
Alec went back to his penthouse where he had pictures of Rayne with her friends. And the ones they took when they went for a getaway weekend that his father had insisted on.
"What's going on?", his father Jake asks when he finds Alec with a bunch of albums.
"She is alive. My Rayne is alive. But unfortunately, she lost her memories and this is the only way I can help her remember", Alec explained to him while arranging the pictures.
"Need any help?", Jake asks his son who shakes his head.
"No, thanks dad. How come you aren't shocked at what I told you about Rayne being alive?", Alec asks his father.
"I met her a day ago when I went to the bakery that I told you about. I saw her but I didn't want to say anything or give your false hopes so I let fate take care of your meeting without anyone's interference", Jake explained to him.
"Well, dad, you are a grandfather now. We have a daughter who is the most beautiful gild I have ever met", Alec tells his father while smiling. "You will love her dad", he added finishing packing the photo album in a bag.
"Where are you going to meet her?" Jake asks his son. Alec explained to him how they met and how Rayne still doesn't trust him.
"Plus this is the only way I could see her and our daughter", Alec says walking out of the door.
I hope she remembers and you get the happiness you both deserve to have.
Jake thought to himself looking at Alec closing the door.
