~Elizabeth's Pov~ 

Meliodas and I were sitting on top of one of the grass hills. We were able to see people dancing around the marketplace grounds. The sun had fully set, the moon was starting to rise. "M-Meliodas" I whispered looking down at the ground as he gave out a 'mhmm?'. He and everyone else. They had done so much for me. Merlin and Diane both counting me as a friend. Both of them calling me that alone, it really made me happy. "Thank you" I spoke, my voice still in a whisper as a smile grew on my face. 

I felt a hand on my own as I looked up to see Meliodas in front of me smiling. "I say it again, you look a lot more pretty with a smile on your face" he spoke getting my face to feel heated up once more. I was confused on why my body was acting this way. It still felt as if this wasn't the first time being by Meliodas's side. "I-I'm trying to be serious" I whispered, stuttering at first as he only chuckled. His own smile growing. My face just felt as if it was warming up even more. "So am I" he soon replied, not helping my face. 

"You know I think everyone back at the Boar Hat will agree will us wanting to see you smile more" Meliodas soon spoke as I felt him holding my hand slightly tighter. My heart was starting to beat even louder in my chest like before. I was confused on why my body was acting this way but there was one thought that was now in my head. That there was a chance of me and Meliodas having history.  My body was so certain that this wasn't the first time being by his side. The same with Merlin. The others didn't have this reaction.

It really bugged me slightly. "How about tomorrow I help out with your lesson?" he soon asked as I nodded keeping the smile on my face. Soon Meliodas's eyes widen as he lost his smile moving fast to get on his feet. He picked me up in a princess hold once more moving as where we were once sitting was hit by lightning. Dirt from the ground came up creating a dust cloud as Meliodas had a serious look on his face. "Meliodas, I ask you this. Hand over Princess Elizabeth" I heard a male voice.

Once the dust cloud vanished a male was standing where the lightning hit. The male had short, slightly curled, salmon-coloured hair. He had think eyebrows and a pair of light blue eyes. He was wearing a dark-coloured fully body knight armour without a helmet. The upper part of the armour was carved with several crosses and the symbol of the Holy Knights. He also had a leather waist belt fastened on top of his armour as in his right hand was a single sword. "Gil" Meliodas mumbled as the male seemed to be human. 

"Holy Knights are keeping the other Sins busy. You are all to be killed if you do not hand over the Princess" this 'Gil' spoke as I got worried about the others. Meliodas only smirked while 'Gil' had no emotion on his face at all. Meliodas turned around placing me on my feet, whispering to me to stay on this spot before turning back around to face the male. "Sorry Gilthunder but I won't let any of you take her away from me" Meliodas spoke as I saw the town below being raided by an army of knights. 

People getting hurt by them. Wasn't the knights there to protect them? Liones. Merlin once told me it was a Kingdom that put the people first. That would protect anyone who needed it. The past tense was correct. At the lesson, I questioned it but now seeing all this myself. I understood what Merlin meant. Blue lightning was starting to bounce off Gilthunder's sword as Meliodas stood there, still not pulling out his own sword. "Gil, don't make me have to fight you. Elizabeth is the one person I will put above everyone else. So stand down" Meliodas spoke harshly. 

I was shocked by his words as Gilthunder only moved his eyes toward me. Looking right at me. "After I finish off the criminal Meliodas you are to come with me. Third Princess Elizabeth" he only spoke as if Meliodas didn't warn him. I was slightly scared. Meliodas gave off a sigh as Gilthunder moved swinging his sword toward him. My eyes had widened as Meliodas was able to dodge out the way by just moving slightly to the left. He pulled out his own sword, Lostvayne. I needed to know how I knew what the weapons were called.

I needed to know why I felt weirdly toward Merlin and Meliodas. Soon the two males were clashing swords, both being powerful with each hit. "ELIZABETH!" I heard Hawk's voice as I turned around seeing him running over. He stopped in front of me, sounding out of breath. "Crap really is Gilthunder. We gotta get you out of here Elizabeth" Hawk spoke sounding more worried than scared. I went to reply until a woman was behind Hawk making him turn around fast, now looking scared. 

The female had a slim build with long black hair. She had a pink headband on her head as her eyes were depicted as if they were closed. She was wearing a single white one-piece with a small white coast. She had long white boots with heels. She was different to what most knights were like. The only armour she was wearing was her gloves and knee protectors. "Hello, Princess Elizabeth" she spoke as I heard Meliodas call my name worried only for me to hear lightning being stricken. "Who the heck are you?" Hawk asked loudly.

"I am Gulia a Holy Knight" she answered with a smile on her face. Hawk stayed in front of me telling this Gulia to back off. He was being so brave. He was scared but yet was standing there for me. Someone he had just met the other day. I was useless. I didn't know how to fight nor any magic. "Hawk" I whispered in shock as she summoned a lance in her hand as she still kept her smile. I was even more scared as I turned my head to see Gilthunder was able to push and keep Meliodas back. It was easy to see the two were very powerful.

I was shocked Gilthunder was able to spar with a Demon and being able to push one back. He was more powerful than a normal human. "Lightning will be wiping out this whole area soon Princess. You have to come with me now" I heard Gulia speak as my mind went to the people in the town. The knights were keeping them there. Why? Why would they kill innocent people? I turned my head looking toward her. I was scared. I was so scared.
