In the beginning
Your p.o.v
I walked into the guild,trying to ignore the burning and unbearable pain in my stomach. I kept a smile on my face, but I knew I still had fear in my eyes. My hands were shaking so hard, so I balled my hands into fist, and put them at my sides.Sighing as I sat at the bar,Mirajane came up to me and smiled.Her smiles always made me happy so I smiled wider.
  "Hello (y/n)!What can I get you today?"Her cheery voice rang in my ears.
  "Can I have a milkshake please?"I asked quietly. In response,she nodded and walked away. Holding my hand to my stomach,I let my smile drop. It hurt to breathe so much, but I couldn't let anyone notice.'Not like anyone would care.'A voice in the back of my mind said. I didn't want to believe it but I had to. I was too vulnerable to it now. He made me vulnerable to it.
"Here you go,(y/n)...Hey,is something wrong?"Mirajane asked as she set my drink down. I quickly put my smile back on my face and nodded, hoping she would brush it off. I felt a small but tight hold on my wrist and looked up to see the stern face of my friend."Come on (y/n).Don't think some of us haven't noticed the bruises you bring in here." She said, a small yet firm frown forming on her face. Someone noticed?
'That's the thing.Some of them.'It's not like I want attention,I just want someone to care.
"I-I...It's nothing,Mira.I'm fine." I said, averting my eyes to my lap. Her grip on my wrist loosened a little bit, but was not removed.
"(Y/n)..."She started, but was called to a table. I heard her sigh and walk away. I drank my milkshake and grabbed my wallet out,putting the money on the counter.
"Hey (y/n)!"I heard a voice say.I turned around to see Levy and Gajeel.
"Hey guys!"I said smiling again.They sat down on each side of me and smiled like idiots.
"What?"I questioned switching my gazes between them.
"You trust us right?"Levy asked and I nodded.
"And you would tell us if something's wrong,right?"Gajeel continued,and I nodded after a few seconds,tapping my fingers on the bar.
"What's this about?"I asked in confusion.
"Ok let's get straight to the point."Levy said acting serious all of a sudden.
"Every time you walk in here,you're always smelling like blood,you always have bruises on you and you're always looking like you were crying,"Gajeel continued,also serious.
"And we want to know why."Levy finished and I looked at them in disbelief.
"Really?"I said and they nodded.
'They don't care.'The voice said.Then why did they ask?
"Guys I'm fine..."I said playing with my fingers."Really...I'm ok."I said looking up at them.
"No you're not.We're worried about you."Gajeel said and I sighed.
"Why can't you just trust me?"After seeing the look on their faces,I sighed."I'm just not feeling well ok.I must have been taking too many jobs."I said laying my head on the counter.
"Bull-"Gajeel started but was interrupted by a voice.
"Hey guys!"A familiar cheery voice says,causing me to flinch slightly.I hope no one saw that.
"Hey Natsu."Levy said and I turned back around to face him.
"Hey Natsu."I said quietly.
"Hey (y/n),are you ok?You seem off."He asked.
'He shouldn't act like he cares.He doesn't have the right too.'But he's my best friend.He could care if he wanted to.
"Y-"I was cut off by the doors being burst open.I looked towards it to see a white haired girl standing there.
"I'm back!"She yelled and the whole guild went silent.A couple seconds later,the guild was cheering and going towards her.Well everyone but me,Gajeel,Juvia,Levy,Wendy,Romeo,and the exceeds.
"Who is that?"I asked quietly as Wendy,Romeo,and the exceeds came over to us.
"That's Lisanna.Mirajane and Elfman's younger sister."Happy answered sitting on my shoulder.
"But I thought she died?"I said, a bit confused."Well I'm going to say hi."I said jumping off the stool and waking over to the crowd.I slipped the the people and saw Lisanna and Natsu hugging.I tapped her on the shoulder.She turned around and I smiled at her."Hi my name's (y/n).You're Lisanna right?"I asked putting my hand out for her to shake.
"Yeah.It's nice to meet you."She answered shaking my hand.
"Well I hope we could become good friends."I said before walking away.I sat down back at the bar as the cheers of the guild partying started in my ears.
'They won't care anymore.Not while she's here.'Why should I listened to you?'You just give it time...see how everything changes then.'I knew the voice was right.It was always right.Why would anyone care?I would lose all my friends and family.I would never be cared for.
*5 weeks later*
I walked (limped) into the guild,with pieces of glass embedded into my body.It hurts a lot,but I got used to it.I greeted everyone,but no one seemed to respond back.I just sighed and ignored it,it's nothing new anyways.
'They do this because they don't care.They never cared.'I knew it was right.I sat at the bar,and took the glass out carefully,putting on my jacket to hide my wounds.For some strange reason,I couldn't feel the pain of the glass.I was probably used to the feeling.Closing my eyes,I laid my head on the counter,blocking out the noise in the background.'It will never stop.You will always feel pain.'I know it will never go away.It will always be like this.I felt a tap on my shoulder and turned around to see Laxus.I smiled and reached for the headphones on his ears but he pulled back.
"Hello Laxus."He mocked,crossing his arms.
"Hi Lax.Can I have your headphone-thingys now?"I asked making grabbing motions with my hands,reaching for his ears.He shook his head 'no' and sat down.I pouted and put my head on his shoulder."Please."I asked sticking out my bottom lip.
"No."He said crossing his arms.
"Please."I asked again.Cue the puppy dog eyes.
"No,and that's final."He said smirking.
"Well then...it's a shame that I don't care.See you later!"I said grabbing them and running off.
"(Y/N)!"I heard him yell behind me and ran around the tables and to the bar where Mirajane was working.I hid behind her as Laxus came up to me.
"I have a Mirajane here,and I'm not afraid to use her."I said peeking over her shoulder to see his scowling face.Mirajane just had a confused look on her face.Poor Mira.
"Mira,can you do me a favor and move please."Laxus said kindly.
"But big sister Mira,he's going to get me if you move.You don't want that to happen do you?"I said innocently.Ha!The big sister card.What're you going to do now Laxus?I felt Mirajane freeze in her spot.Gotcha Mirajane.Just stay in your spot.
Suddenly my only protection was picked up off the ground and moved away.That's my cue to leave.I ran past them,and ran behind Wendy and Romeo.
"Guys you have to help me.Laxus is-"I was picked up before I could finish my sentence and carried away."Help someone!He's go hurt me!"I yelled as Wendy and Romeo laughed."So you're just going to stand there and laugh?!Traitors!"I yelled as we made it outside.I was met with the stern face of Laxus."Hey Laxus...you know I was kidding when I said I didn't care."I said putting my hands up in defense.He looked at me for a moment before his hands reached for my sides and started tickling me.I started laughing and trying to swat his hands away.They next thing I knew,I was hanging on a tree branch by my hoodie..."Laxus!This is not fair,you know I have short arms!"I said crossing my arms.
"Which is why I put you up there in the first place!"He said smirking,his headphones in hand.I wanted to kick him but he's my only chance of getting down.
"Big brother,please.I don't want to stay up here..."I pleaded doing the puppy dog face.
"Hm...I'll think about it."He said and turned around.
"Laxus..."I said glaring at him."LAXUS DONT LEAVE ME UP HERE!"I yelled as he walked away."Idiot!"I yelled and tried to reach the hoodie.
After about five attempts at reaching,pulling my body up,and plain old struggling,I gave up.
"Need some help?"I heard a mocking voice say.Looking down,I saw my celestial spirit,Loke,his black eyes looking up at me mysteriously .
"Yes..."I said sheepishly.He easily grabbed my hoodie and lifted my off the branch."Thank you big brother."I said smiling cheekily.
"How did you end up on a tree branch in the first place?"He ask as I hopped on his back.He grabbed my legs so I wouldn't fall off.
"Uh...you see...I took something from Laxus,and ended up in a tickle trap,that ended up with me in a tree...and that rhymed."I said as he started walking while shaking his head.
"I will never understand your weirdness."He said shaking his head.
"No one ever will."I said giggling.
"So...where to (y/n)?"Leo asked as I started to play with his glasses.
"Ooh!Lets's go to the ice cream shop.Your paying!"I said happily.
"Why do I have to pay?"He whined and I laughed.
"Because I payed last time.Now go kitty!Go!"I said pointing to the ice cream parlor.He sighed and continued walking. "Do you think the other would like ice cream too?"I asked and he groaned.
"I'm paying for them too?!?"He said hanging his head.
"You should've payed last time.If you did that,you wouldn't be in this situation."I said as we got the the shop.
"Virgo!Can you come here please!"I called out,opening her gate.Virgo appeared and bowed."Hey Virgo,can you please asked what types of ice cream the other would want?Leo's buying."I asked while smirking at Leo.Virgo laughed at Leo's face.
"Ok Princess.I'll be back in a minute."She answered before she disappeared.A couple seconds later she came back with a list."Here you go,Princess."She said and gave me the list."Thanks Virgo!"I said and she disappeared."23 people.That's how many I'm paying for."Leo groaned as we were walking inside.
"If it makes you feel better,I'll pay half."I suggested,scratching under his chin.I received a small cat purr in response.
"Hey don't do that!"He exclaimed,his face turning red.
"I can't help it!You're just too cute for your own good."I said and in result,he put me down.
"Just for that you get no more rides."He said crossing his arms.
"Ok,don't be like that."I said wrapping my arms around his waist.Ok I know you must think we like each other.No it's nothing like that.We just have a brother and sister relationship.I think of all my spirits as my family."Fine,I'll even put on your favorite movie for you."I said laughing at his pout.
"Is that a promise..."He said trying to hide his smile.
"Promise."I said handing him the list."Your still paying though..."I said and he rolled his eyes at me.
"You're lucky you're you,(y/n)."He said and I skipped to the counter.
"Hi m'am,I would like 1 cookie's and cream to go please."I asked and looked to Loke to see him looking at the list in shock.
"Who eats that much ice cream?"He muttered,taking out his wallet and basically taking all his money out.
"Here you go."The lady said handing me a bowl and the spoon.
"Thanks m'am!"I say happily,pulling out my wallet to pay my half.
"No need for that.It's free for the both of you."She said and I smiled.
"Thank you miss."I said and turned to Loke."Well you're off the hook this time Loke."I said and he sighed in relief.
"Thank goodness."He said and ordered what they wanted to go.We gave the ice cream to Virgo and she disappeared.We walk out the shop eating our ice cream.
"Thank you big brother."I said my mouth full of ice cream.
"You're welcome (y/n)."He said handing me a napkin.I must have ice cream on my face."I swear you act like you're 5."He says as I clean my mouth.
"Which is why you are the big brother."I said and he rolled his eyes again."Now,let us go watch movies and be lazy!"I said pointing to the way of my house.
"Mhm."He answered with his mouth full of ice cream.
"And I act like I'm five..."I said sarcastically.
"Oh shut up."He sat putting his bowl in the garbage.I did the same.I hopped on his back and he held my legs.
"Go kitty!Go!"I said pointing to the house.He chucked and started walking.
"Loke..."I asked putting my head on top of his.I received a hum in response."You're a lion right..."Another hm."So that mean you have cat reflexes and stuff like that?"I asked while smirking.
"Why do I not like where this is going?"He asked,more to himself than to me.
"So if I do this..."I said scratching behind his lion ears.
"(Y-y/n)...I told you not to do that."He stuttered as we reached the apartment.
"I know but it's just too cute!"I exclaimed jumping off his back and unlocking the door.
We walked in and sat on the couch."Ok...I promised you your favorite..."I said trailing off.
"Oh (y/n)!Not this again!You did this last time!"He said crossing his arms.
"Well it was a scary film so that was totally different."I said and he groaned.
"Which movie is it this time?"He asked his shoulders slumping.
"Just this totally not scary movie that I'd love to watch right now.I promise we'll watch it right after-"I tried to plead but he just shook his head no.
"We watch my movie first...wait now that I think about it...are you emotional?"He asked narrowing his eyes at me.
"What do you mean?"I asked confused.
"I mean,the only time you want to watch the my movie is when your emotional and then there's the ice cream...oh no!"A look of horror comes on his face.
I finally caught on to what he was saying and whacked him on the head with a pillow."Well thanks for jinxing me Leo.Now I'm going to be in pain for a week!"I said and as if fate decided to be so cruel,I felt like I just peed myself."YOU IDIOT!"I yelled hitting him again.
"What did I do!"He yelled trying to block my hits.
"You jinxed me!Now my period's on and it's all your fault!"I said crossing my arms and got up.I went to the bathroom and walked out five minutes later,grumbling and holding my stomach in pain."You.Why you do this to me!"I asked pointing at him and flopping on the couch.
"I'm sorry (y/n),I didn't know."He said patting my head as I put it on his lap.I just kept groaning in response."I do think about your feelings and it not like I did it on purpose...Mother Nature just decided to mess with you today."He answered to which I replied with a whine."I know it hurts.It's just her way of testing you."He said sighing.Another groan and whine."It would just be weird if the boys went through this instead of the girls..."He answers and I glared up at him."Yeah not helpful.But maybe if you just ignore it,it would go away."He said and I just blinked at him.He only sighed.
"Aries would you come here please."He called out and Aries appeared.
"Yes Leo."She said and he motioned to me.She looked at me holding my stomach."Cramps."She stated and I nodded."Period."Another nod and groan."He jinxed you didn't he?"I nodded while Leo started protesting."Men."Aries muttered before lifting my feet and sitting down.
"You're suppose to be helping me,not putting me down."Leo said as he refrained me from suffocating myself in the pillow I was screaming in.
"You shouldn't have jinxed her."Aries said.
After an hour or so they had to leave (much to my dismay),and I was left alone in the apartment as always.I wouldn't admit it but I get pretty lonely here by myself.I mean I could call my spirits here,but I want them to have time to themselves.There was a knock on my door and I opened it to reveal him.
"Hey (y/n).How's it been?"He said leaning on my doorframe.
"Good,h-how about you?"I stuttered,as my hands started shaking.
"It's been swell."He said walking closer.I tried to close my door but I could barely move it an inch before he blocked it with his hand."I thought you knew better,(y/n)."He said,reopening my door and walking completely inside.
"I-I'm sorry.J-Just please leave."I said in fear as he put his hand on my face.My breath got caught in my throat as his face got closer to mine.
"You know I can't do that."He said as his hand traveled to my neck.
"P-Please.I beg y-you.I'll do anything.Just...just don't do this."I tried to plead but he only smirked.His hand tightened around my neck as his lifted me off the ground.I started chocking from the lack of air and trying to get oxygen in my lungs. Black spots started clouded my vision and he finally let me go and threw me on the couch."Ha-Have you no soul..."I got out gripping my throat.He frowned at me and kneeled down so we were face to face.
"I'm a demon,of course not."He said the smirk returning to his face.
"Why are you doing this?"I said and he only shrugged.
"I'm just following orders."He said before walking out,slamming the door behind him.I sighed and started picking up the glass pieces of a vase from when he threw me to the couch.I put the glass in the garbage and walked to the bathroom,looking at the bruise already forming on my neck.No amount of make-up will cover this.I sighed,wiping away tears that fell from my eyes.Why does this happen to me?What have I done wrong to deserve this?Well tomorrow could be different?
'No it won't.It will be like all the rest.'The voice said.You never know though.I cleaned my cuts from this morning,wrapping them in bandages so no one would see.I walked to my room,changing into my pajamas and laid down,falling asleep in a matter of minutes.
