Chapter 21 - Stop Swearing

Enjoy this chapter!

~ Jordan's POV~

I sent Adrian a small smile when he walked into my hospital room where I had been lying for the last three days after giving birth to Leo. I was meant to be discharged the same day but I had some complications after the birth which meant I had to have an emergency operation and had to stay in hospital for a few more days. Leo stayed with me only because I had to feed him and it was the best place for him but Adrian has spent the last couple of days coming to see us whenever he could.

"How are you feeling?" I sighed tiredly as he sat down next to me, taking Leo out of the small crib next to my bed. "Tired, I just want to go home now."

Adrian nodded, his eyes staying on our sleeping son in his arms. "Are you still in pain?" I nodded and took a sip of my water. "Yeah, it's still pretty hard to move around." Adrian didn't miss the sadness and frustration in my voice but he didn't bring it up. "At least you're okay. I was so worried Jordan, I don't know what I would do without you tesoro."

"I know." He frowned at my curt response but didn't say anything else. Adrian didn't know what was going on when it all happened. I fell asleep and when I woke up I had been told that I had an operation due to excess blood loss and complications inside me where the placenta was.

"How's everything at home?" Adrian scoffed and leaned back in his chair gently, making sure to not wake Leo up. "It's dead. I miss you baby, it's not the same with out you." I forced a small smile on to my face before looking away. I wasn't in the mood to be all cute with him, not after being stuck in hospital for three days and being told I couldn't hold my own baby.

"What's wrong?" He frowned at me and gently placed Leo down in the crib before leaning forward closer towards me. He took my hand in his and kissed it while waiting for me to respond. "Nothing Adrian." He sighed in frustration and let go of my hand. "What's your problem? I haven't seen you since yesterday and all you're doing is being a moody-" He had to cut his sentence short to stop himself from saying something that would surely piss me off but it made no difference, I was already angry.

"Sorry, what? I'm the one who's been stuck here watching other people look after my baby while you just turn up for a couple of hours to hold him then you disappear." I kept my voice low while I glared at Adrian.

"That's because of the visiting times idiot." I shook my head and pointed towards the door. "Just get out." He glared at me and shook his head in frustration. "You're pathetic Jordan."

"How am I pathetic? I think I have a right to be upset Adrian. I've only held my baby once for about two minutes, I haven't held him since I gave birth to him. I can't look after him, I can't change his diaper or feed him properly he's already drinking my milk from a bottle and he's only three days old. That shouldn't have happened."

He sighed and reached over wiping the tears off my cheeks, he didn't say anything else and just sat with me quietly for a few minutes waiting for me to calm down. "I'm sorry." He shook his head at me and kissed my cheek. "I should be the one saying sorry tesoro. This whole thing is just hard as fu-"

"Don't swear Adrian." He rolled his eyes and grinned at me before leaning closer to me. "That's exactly what I've missed." He pecked my lips and mumbled against them. "I love you."

Before I could respond to him a small cry interrupted us. I frowned at Leo who was crying in the crib next to us but there was nothing I could do about it. I couldn't get up because I was hooked up to all the machines and I would need help to get off the bed - so far I've only moved from my bed when it's been necessary. I'd probably get shouted at by the nurses if they saw me try.

"Get a nurse Adrian." He shook his head and picked up Leo before coming towards me. "I'll help you hold him." I shook my head in protest and glanced at the windows where any nurse could easily see me. "No Adrian. They think I might drop him if it causes me too much pain. I don't want to risk it."

"I'll support most of his weight, don't worry. He needs his mama." I bit my lip staring at my baby boy who was starting to cry even more and nodded at Adrian who slowly passed him to me, making sure to keep his hand underneath Leo.

As soon as he was in my arms his crying stopped and he blankly stared up at my face. I gave him a smile which caused him to release a weird gurgle. "See you're fine. Screw whatever they say, don't listen to those bitches." I glared at Adrian who smiled sheepishly. "Sorry, I'll try harder next time." I rolled my eyes before looking down at Leo. "You're heavier than I remember Leo, you eat too much."

"Is it hurting you?" I shook my head, my eyes staying on Leo. "Let go, I think I can handle it."

"Are you sure?" I nodded and Adrian slowly moved his hand which was supporting Leo in my arms and I sent him a smile. "I'm fine." He nodded and sat down again but made sure to stay close to me in case Leo became to heavy for me. "You're so perfect Leo." I hadn't seen him this close up since I first held him three days ago and his face was already changing a lot.

"When can I leave Adrian?" He reached over taking Leo's hand in his before looking at me. "Maybe today or tomorrow I think. I haven't spoken to a doctor yet."

As soon as Adrian finished speaking the door opened and the same doctor who helped deliver Leo walked in followed by the rude nurse who told me not to hold Leo incase I hurt him, their eyes landed on me holding Leo and I knew straight away they were going to give me hell for it.

I turned towards Adrian to pass Leo to him but he purposely ignored me turning towards the doctor with a small smirk on his face. "Yes?" I rolled my eyes at his smug tone. "Uh...I take it you're feeling better Jordan?"

"Just because she's holding her son that doesn't mean you can automatically assume that she's better." Adrian's tone was cold and intimidating but for some reason this doctor has had a death wish since the day he delivered Leo. "Yes sir, but your wife was strictly told she couldn't hold her baby or anything heavy until she was told otherwise."

"He's a new born baby, he's not that heavy." Adrian didn't seem like he was going to stop his arguing anytime soon, he completely ignored my first few attempts at getting his attention until finally he looked at me. "Just take him Adrian." He shook his head and stood up becoming more and more angry by the situation. "She's just given birth and you think it's okay to tell her that she can't hold her own son?"

Judging by Adrian's threatening stance and his cold voice I could tell this wasn't going to end well. I looked down at Leo in my arms who was watching the scene unfold with mild curiosity, I kissed his forehead before whispering to him. "Get used to it, he's like that everyday."

"When can she go home?" The doctor sighed and checked his clipboard. "As long as she has sufficient support at home then today should be fine."

"Are you trying to say I can't look after my wife?" Adrian glared at the doctor causing me to let out a groan. "Adrian just be quiet. Can you get the discharge papers please?" The doctor frowned at Adrian before he nodded and come over to me. "I just need to check you over one more time to make sure and then I'll have the papers brought to you."

Adrian took Leo out of my arms letting the doctor check over all my stitches from the operation and just my general overall health. Once he was happy he unhooked me from the machines, prescribed me some medication which was safe to take while breastfeeding and went to get the discharge papers.

"You need to calm down sometimes Adrian." He glared at me from his position across the room where he was busy showing Leo the view from my window. "He was a bastard Jordan."

"Stop swearing." He rolled his eyes and went back to whatever he was doing with Leo. "Here you go Jordan. Just sign them and take them to the reception desk when you're done, you're free to get changed. If you need any help just-"

"She doesn't need your help thanks, I can help my wife get changed." The doctor shook his head and left the room without saying anything else to us. "I don't like his attitude." Adrian placed our son down in the crib and grabbed the bag which had some of my clothes and things in.

"I'm pretty sure he doesn't like yours either." He sent me a cheeky grin and helped me to sit up properly before he helped me take off the hospital gown I was wearing leaving me in my underwear. "You're so beautiful Jordan." I rolled my eyes as Adrian's gaze went over my body which definitely wasn't beautiful. "I just had a baby and surgery, I'm definitely not beautiful."

"You just had my baby, to me that makes you the most beautiful girl in the world." He kissed my forehead before helping my put on my tshirt. He then slipped my feet into my leggings and helped me stand up before pulling them up properly. I slipped my feet into my flats and stood next to Leo who was staring at the ceiling with a blank face causing me to laugh. "You look exactly like your papa."

"If you're trying to tell me that I'm good looking, I already know I am." I scoffed at his arrogance and shook my head at Adrian who was busy gathering all mine and Leo's things from the last few days, just as he finished Leo began to cry once again, this time I knew it was because he was hungry.

"I need to feed him Adrian." Adrian didn't seem to know what to do next so he just stared at me waiting for me to decide. "Can you call a nurse please?" He nodded and left the room, a minute later he was back with one of the nice nurses who gave me a smile.

"Is it possible if you can show me how to breastfeed him? I haven't done it yet and I don't think I'll be able to do it on my own at home." She happily nodded and told me to sit down on the bed which Adrian helped me with before she brought Leo over to me. She then helped my to take off my tshirt and my bra.

"You don't need to take all of it off every time, just for now so I can show you easily how to do it." She showed me how to hold him properly so that I didn't aggravate my stitches from the surgery before explaining the best way to get Leo to latch on. It took me a few tries before I was able to do it properly but I soon managed to get Leo feeding happily. Once I had finished and he was full I put my clothes back on and I stood up slowly with Adrian's help, thanking the nurse just as the door bursted open revealing Matteo and Angelo who came bounding in with Carlotta following behind them carrying a car seat for Leo, irritation clear on her face.

"Can I hold him Jordan?" I nodded in amusement at Matteo who eagerly but gently picked up Leo from the crib where the nurse had just put him down. Carlotta came over to me and gave me a gentle hug careful not to hurt my stomach. "How are you Jordan?"

"I'm okay, I'm just happy to be leaving this awful place." She smiled at me and nodded glancing around the room with her nose scrunched up. "It's not very big." Her comment caused us all to chuckle.

"Angelo babe pass me the car seat."

My eyes widened and I turned to Carlotta who's eyes were as wide as mine at her obvious slip up, her face grew pale when she was faced with the murderous looks on her brothers' faces.

"Carlotta I really hope I didn't hear that correctly. Did you just call him 'babe'?" I quickly took Leo from an angry Matteo's arms before he accidentally dropped him. "Okay baby why don't we just move away from all your angry family, we don't want to get hurt." I carefully stepped away from them all whilst holding Leo in my arms. "Guys if you shout, which you will, please shout quietly, I don't need Leo crying again."

None of them even acknowledged what I said and Adrian's hard gazed remained on Carlotta who still hadn't answered his question. "Adrian..."

"You're screwing my best friend?" I may have underestimated how angry Adrian would be, he was doing that calm but furious thing he does when he's about to explode. "You." He turned his attention to his best friend who looked like he would rather be anywhere else in the world than here right now.

"Bro liste-" Adrian cut Angelo off by stepping towards him and pulling out his gun. "Adrian!" Carlotta's pleading cry fell on deaf ears since Adrian was too angry to care, but I wasn't about to let him pull a gun out around my son.

"Adrian! Put it away now before I walk out of here with Leo. And I'm not joking." His eyes moved towards me before going back to Angelo. Eventually he put the gun away but his anger didn't disappear.

"What the hell is wrong with you? I'm holding your son and you have the nerve to pull a gun out? If you ever do that again you'll be lucky to ever see him again." Adrian's attention turned to me and his glare hardened even more if it was at all possible.

"He's my bestfriend and she's my sist-" I scoffed in disbelief and shook my head. "Just let them be happy Adrian. If she likes Angelo then just give him 'the talk' and leave them to it. They're grown adults plus you've got your own family to worry about incase you've forgotten."

I sent him one last glare before turning to Carlotta who was watching the whole thing with tears in her eyes. "Can you help me put Leo in the car seat and carry everything to the car?" She nodded and took my baby out of my arms before going over to the damn car seat which started this whole thing in the first place.

"Jordan..." I shook my head at Adrian indicating that I didn't want to speak to him. He sighed in frustration and grabbed my bags off the bed before leaving the room. I turned towards Matteo who was still glaring at Angelo, I cleared my throat catching his attention and he quickly took the car seat from Carlotta who had already strapped Leo in.

"You guys take him to Adrian's car. I just need to sign the discharge papers and give them to the receptionist." Matteo carried Leo out with his hand on Carlotta's back making sure she was leaving infront of him, he wasn't about to leave Carlotta and Angelo together any time soon.

"Don't worry about them. They'll be fine, I'll talk to them." Angelo sighed and sat down on the bed whilst looking at me. "I really like her but I know they're my best friends, I've screwed up haven't I Jordan?" I shook my head and smiled at him. "It's okay, honestly once they get over the shock they'll calm down and you can talk to them properly. Now come on, all this standing around is making me tired."

After signing the papers I walked out the hospital slowly with Angelo next to me in case I needed him but thankfully I was okay walking. Getting out of bed was the hardest part but once I was up and moving the pain wasn't as bad. We made it to the cars and I gave Angelo an encouraging smile.

"You'll be fine, just try not to look at Carlotta around Matteo." He rolled his eyes and made his way over to Matteo's car where he and Carlotta were already waiting. As I approached Adrian's car he got out and opened the back door to help me get in next to Leo. I didn't say a word to him when I got inside and he slammed the door next to me before getting back in the drivers seat.

We drove back to the house in silence which just ruined my mood even further. Of course the day I brought my baby home from the hospital Adrian and I would be ignoring each other. That's just the story of our relationship. We finally pulled up to the house, before the others and Adrian took the bags inside before coming back to carry Leo's car seat inside. Once again he helped me out the car and I made my way inside without waiting for him. I slowly climbed the stairs, biting my lip at the sudden pain I was feeling in my stomach.

"Jordan wait. Let me take him upstairs and I'll carry you." I shook my head and stubbornly climbed another step. "I don't need your help."

Adrian mumbled something to himself and passed me on the stairs, he disappeared for a second before coming back and stopping infront of me.

"It's a long way to our room. Let me just carry you." I glared at him but eventually nodded anyway, he gently picked me up and carried me to our room, he placed a kiss on my cheek before putting me down on the floor where I noticed a small crib was next to our bed. "What do you need to do before getting into bed?"

"I think I'm gonna take a shower, just to get rid of the hospital feeling." He nodded and guided me into the bathroom and I started taking off my clothes while Adrian turned on the shower. "Do you need any help?" I thought for a moment before nodding knowing I wouldn't be able to do it on my own.

"Let me put Leo in the crib and I'll come back." I resisted the urge to sigh knowing this was going to be our life now. We would always need to make sure Leo was safe and comfortable before doing anything, that's being a parent I suppose.

Adrian returned and stripped off his clothes ignoring the obvious glare I was giving him. He got in the huge shower and I begrudgingly followed him. He helped me to take a shower being extra careful not to get my bandage on my stomach wet, it wouldn't have been a problem since I could just change it but I didn't want it soaking wet.

I had just finished washing my hair when Adrian placed a soft kiss on my lips catching me off guard. After a few seconds I started to kiss him back and he gently pushed me against the wall deepening the kiss. We made out for a little while longer but I gently pushed him away before he could take it any further. "I can't have sex with you for a long time Adrian. I'm still angry at you too so don't think you're off the hook."

I moved past him and got out the shower before drying off. I heard Adrian come out behind me and I made my way back into our room to get dressed into some comfier clothes. I got dressed with only a little help from Adrian before I lay down, finally in my own bed.

Adrian got in next to me and wrapped his arms around me gently before resting his forehead on my shoulder. "I'm sorry. I shouldn't have done what I did earlier but I was just so angry. Angelo has been my bestfriend since we were both babies, he should have told me if he liked my sister...I just didn't know how to handle it."

"I don't care Adrian, you shouldn't have done that. Whatever happens with those two should be none of your concern now, I need you more than ever." He looked at me properly and nodded. "I know, I'm so sorry Jordan. I love you."

"I love you too." I mumbled quietly and kissed his cheek before closing my eyes; I was determined to get as much rest as I could before I needed to tend to Leo again. I was going to try my best to prevent myself becoming an exhausted mother, if I rested as much as I could then I'm sure it's possible. "Wake me up if you need me." I felt Adrian nod against before I fell asleep.
