Chapter Three: Shadow

"Oooo! You should buy her a single yellow rose." W.B. stated as she flew beside me. I rolled my eyes and dropped off my paper work to one of my coworkers who needed it

"And why should I do that, Bat?" I questioned, stopping and folding my arms as I turned around to face her. She landed on her feet and smiled flirtatiously at me

"Well Shadow, the yellow rose symbolizes a promise to a new beginning and friendship. From here on out, you and Pinky will be good friends. So yeah, a yellow rose." I inwardly groan at her words, but I knew that it sounded like a good idea. Whenever I hung out with anyone, I always brought something to give them, so a yellow rose sounds like a good idea

"Okay, I'll stop by Silver and Blaze's flower shop and pick up a rose." I replied calmly. I started to walk back to my desk, but I could sense that Rouge was shocked by my words

"What's wrong now?" I questioned as she flew to catch up with me

"Nothing, just didn't think you'd just agree to the idea like that." She replied. I shrugged my shoulders, a small smirk on my face

"You'e the told who told me to ask her to hang out, so I'm doing just that." I explained as we made it to my cubical. I grabbed my red zip up jacket and put it on, not zipping it up. I made sure I had my wallet, phone, and keys before exiting the building, walking to my motorcycle with W.B. still following me

"You're going now?" She wondered as she landed beside me, watching me as I got onto my vehicle

"Yeah, she gets off at ten and it's nine forty-four right now. I think I should head out." I shook my quills out a bit, slightly debating on if I want to put on my helmet or not

"Well go ahead, lover boy. Have fun on your date." I growled at her response

"It's not a date, Rouge!" I started my motorcycle and looked at Rouge, rolling my eyes and nodding at her to signal my departure. She nodded back at me and I rode off, heading for the flower shop...

{Time Skip}

"Thanks, come again!" I heard Silver's cheery voice ring as the door opened and a random costumer came out. I caught the door before it closed and walked in, seeing Blaze tending to the flowers on the window sill

"Shadow? You usually don't come around here." Blaze was the first to notice my appearance. I smirked a bit and shrugged my shoulders

"Well what do you need?" She questioned. I hummed a bit

"A single yellow rose if you have it." I answered. I could almost hear Silver's eyes perk up at the sound of my words

"A yellow rose!? No problemo!" In the amount of almost 10 seconds, I was presented with a yellow rose with a white bow wrapped around the stem and no thorns lathered it. I nodded in approval and carefully took the flower from his hand, pulling out my wallet with my free hand

"How much do I owe?" I questioned. Blaze shook her head

"It's on us. Rouge already told me what you were gonna do tonight." Blaze smirked and so did Silver. I felt my ears get hot, but I turned my body away so they wouldn't see my face

"Whatever, I'm gone. I don't wanna be late." I told them, walking out of the store. They bid me a farewell before the door closed behind me. I rolled my eyes and went to my bike, safely placing the flower in the satchel since it was wrapped in the plastic it usually comes in. I sighed and started my motorcycle, quickly intersecting onto the road to Amelia's job. I growled when I seen the clock on my bike pop up

"I'm five minutes late already..." I thought to myself. I mean, it's not like I really wanted to hang out with her, but I've already planned this crap and I invited her, plus I'm never late for anything, so I'm already mad about that. I groaned as I stopped behind a car at a red light. I seriously don't have time for this!...

{Time Skip}

I'm fifteen minutes late....FIFTEEN FUCKING MINUTES LATE!! I growled as I parked my motorcycle, turning it off and walking to the cafe. Nothing could make me even more mad-

"Shadow?"

Annddd I stand corrected

"What's he doing here?" Faker and I disgustedly stated in unison. I glared at him as he just frowned at me. Stupid bit-

"Hi Shadow! I'll go get my jacket." When Amelia disappeared around the corner, Sonic was in my face in a matter of seconds

"Why are you here and what are you doing with Amy?" I scooted back a bit away from him, wanting my personal space

"None of your business faker." Was my only answer, dusting off my jacket. He opened his mouth to say something else, but I averted my eyes when I noticed Amelia coming around the corner to us

"Ready to go?" I asked her nicely. She smiled and my heart leaped a bit. The fuc-?

"Ames, where are you going with Shadow?" OH MY FUCKING GOD, I WAS ALREADY LATE, CAN YOU LEAVE US ALONE SO WE CAN GO?!

"We're just going to hang out, that's all." Amelia replies, looking at me. Thank Chaos

"Yeah. Let's head out." I replied

"Okay. Bye Cream, make sure to lock up!" Wait, Cream was still here?

"Okay Miss Amy!" The small rabbit popped up from behind the counter. I wonder if she overheard Sonic and I's conversation

"Let's go Shadow." Before I knew it, Amy was pulling me out of the bakery by my wrist. I'd usually pull away from anyone who'd do this, but her touch was surprisingly soft and warm so I didn't mind too much

"Okay, there's actually something wrong with me." I groaned, shaking my head...
