Chapter Nineteen: A Small Gift

The time had been set. Shadow would pick Amy up from her house at around two in the afternoon and they would spend the day together. While sitting on the back of Shadow's motorcycle, holding onto him while he took her home to get ready, she couldn't help feel like she was being selfish. Of course she wanted to spend some time with Shadow, but what about Sonic? She liked them both, so why did she spend more time with Shadow than Sonic? It should be equal so she could get an understanding of her feelings. The whole ride, she was just letting thoughts of Sonic roam her mind, a very small portion of those thoughts were telling her to cancel her date with Shadow and spend today with Sonic, but she knew that she didn't want to do that. As much as she liked Sonic, she liked Shadow the same amount. She'd just have to hang out with Sonic the next day

"Uh Rose? We're here." Amy was snapped out of her thoughts by Shadow, who wasn't on the motorcycle anymore. Her hands were on the seat that he was just seated on and they were parked in front of her house. The black and red hedgehog chuckled at her confused face and helped her off of the motorcycle, taking his helmet off of her head

"It's about eleven twenty-seven. That should be enough time for you to get ready, shouldn't it?" Shadow questioned as he walked her to her door. Amy smiled and nodded, stopping at her door and smiling up at the hedgehog. He smiled softly back at her

"Yes Shaddy, that should be enough time." She replied, reaching into her pocket for her keys. Once she retrieved them, she unlocked her door. She turned back and faced Shadow, but was caught off guard when his lips met hers. It was a tender and quick kiss that ended too quickly to her liking. She looked a bit dazed, which caused Shadow to smirk

"I'll see you then, Rose." Shadow walked off the porch, walking towards his car. Amy leaned against her door frame, a dazed smile on his face. Shadow hopped onto his motorcycle, waved at the pink hedgehog, and drove off. Once he was out of sight, Amy walked into her house. She closed the door and shot a text to the group chat of her and the girls, telling them that she had a date and needed help with getting ready. She smiled when she got replies of them saying that they were on the way. While waiting, she went to take a shower, Shadow and Sonic in her thoughts. They were both pretty amazing boys in her eyes. Corny to say it, but they were her ideal boys. After a while, she finished her shower, stepping out and wrapping a towel around her body and a towel around her quills. She walked out of her bathroom and to her room, not being surprised when she seen the girls sitting on her bed

"Hey." She greeted them. Rouge smiled at the pink hedgehog before getting up off of the bed and flying towards her

"Date with the Dark Knight?" Rouge wondered causing Amy to blush and nod. Rouge giggled

"How come you haven't went on a date with Sonic?" Cream questioned from her spot by Amy's dresser, rummaging through it in search of putting an outfit together for her best friend

"I was actually thinking about that, it could be because Sonic never really asks me for a date. So whenever Shadow asks, I go since I mean, I like them both." Each girl made a noise to signify that they understood what she was saying. Blaze walked out to Amy and placed her hands onto the towel that was drying her quills

"Well let's get you ready for your date." The purple cat stated, making Amy smile brightly. Time flies as the girls work on getting Amy ready for her date. It took Cream and Rouge a while to finally agree on an outfit for Amy to wear and for Blaze to get the pink hedgehog's quills to spiral curl the right way. By the time they finished, it was almost time for Shadow to come and pick her up

"Well girls, how do I look?" Amy smiled as she did a small spin in front of her friends. Rouge and Cream decided that a pastel baby blue skirt and a plain fitting white shirt with white sneakers was the best way to go for her attire. Something simple and cute to match with the spiral curl of her quills and a pastel baby blue heart clip in her quills to pull back her bangs

"We did pretty good." Rouge and Cream high five'd, causing Blaze to roll her eyes and giggle. Their sounds stopped once they heard the door bell ring. Rouge looked at her watch and noticed that it was still ten minutes until Shadow would arrive

"Maybe he decided to come early?" Amy smiled. The pink hedgehog didn't mind, she really wanted to spend some time with him anyways. The girls laughed and Rouge flew to the door, opening it. Surprisingly it wasn't Shadow

"Sonic?" The bat wondered. Why was he here, at this time nevertheless? Sonic smiled at her, but was secretly trying to see around her

"Hi Rouge, Amy's home right?" He questioned, hands behind his back. Rouge couldn't just lie so she just nodded, opening the door more so he could step into the house. Sonic thanked her and walked in

"Hi Sonikku!" Amy greeted him, going over and hugging him. Sonic felt his heart melt as he wrapped his arms around her tightly. After releasing the hug, Sonic reached into his pocket and fetched out a silver star shaped locket. Amy looked at it in confusion as Sonic placed it in her hands, a small blush on his muzzle

"I-I had Tails make it for me. I want you to always keep in mind how much I love you so...open it." He told her. Amy could hear Cream's small squeals behind her, she could also hear Blaze trying to calm her down. She could definitely hear Rouge's murmurs of Shadow needing to hurry up, no matter the time. So she took a deep breath and opened the locket, her face going into a small look of shock. It was a picture of when her and Sonic were younger. She was kissing his cheek, to which at that time Sonic would try and maneuver himself from her arms, but he wasn't. He had a small smile on his face along with a blush. She never knew this photo existed

"I've always kept that photo with me in my room and I thought that maybe you would want it." She looked up and seen Sonic rubbing the back of his head and looking away, fully flustered. Amy could feel the tips of her ears heat up as she smiled. She placed the necklace on and hugged Sonic tightly

"Thank you Sonikku, it's amazing." She told him. Her heart was racing, he was actually thinking about her. She felt his arms wrap around her waist to hold her close, laying his head on top of hers

"I'm glad you like it." He replied, closing his eyes. He felt at peace having her in his arms. That was until he heard a cough behind him

"Am I interrupting something?" ....
