Moyo’s P.O.V
Moyo felt ache in all of her body. The ride to and fro from the police station was hectic. It was more difficult as she didn’t have any picture of her parents, and needed to be describing them to the police officers. She gave all the details she knew, but it seemed hard without picture. Her parents had never been the social type, and she didn’t have a picture of them on her new phone. It made them spend extra hours at the police station. Thankfully, her parents were prominent or the officer might have dismissed them.
After earning a promise from the officer that he was going to do something about it, they left the station.
Now, all Moyo wanted to do was lay down and sleep without thoughts of anything. She wanted to be free of this. Yet, as soon as her body hit her bed, her phone started ringing. Moyo jumped up startled by the sudden call – her number was one of those left at the police station. It was in case her parents were busy.
She picked it up and stared at Aaron’s number. She had been avoiding his calls, but now that she knew the right authorities were handling the cases, she decided to pick up his call.
“Hello, Moyosore. Are you okay? Is everything going fine with you?” Before she could greet him, Aaron had started asking numerous questions.
Moyo smiled at that. It was good to know that someone sincerely cares about her. “I’m sorry…”
She heard shuffling at the other side, before a different voice took over the phone, “You can apologize when you see us. Can you tell these your estate securities to give us access into the estate?”
Moyo’s eyes widened in surprise, “Are you saying you guys are at the estate gate?”
She heard a low chuckle, before hearing a low tsking sound, “When I heard you were sick, I couldn’t believe it, but now I do?”
Moyo smiled; it was typical of Bayo to always tease her. “Please, give the phone to the security guard on duty.”
She said few things to the man and they were allowed access into the estate.
Moyo wasn’t dressed to receive visitors, so she hurriedly strip herself of her cloth and changed into something more suitable to receive visitors. When she came out of her room into the living room, Cassie was there receiving calls, but immediately she saw Moyo, she hurriedly cut the call.
Moyo narrowed her gaze at her.
Cassie fidgets with her phone before putting it in her pocket. Her eyes moved over Moyo in a very slow manner, “Where are you going all dressed up?”
“I’m not going anywhere. I’m receiving visitors at home.” Moyo’s tone was calm. She didn’t want to waste another set of energy fighting with Cassie. It wasn’t worth you.
Cassie frowned at her, “You are receiving visitors? Do you know anyone in this part of the country?” there was an edge in her voice. As if she was irritated by the fact that someone like Moyo could have a guest.
Instead of the response she expected, Moyo moved further from her and settled in a different seat. She knew it. She knew whatever politeness Cassie had given her to and fro from the station was because their parents were there. She was trying to act like a good girl in their presence while giving her the attitude behind them, but Moyo was already above such sneaking attitude.
“You just like to bluff. I’m not surprise.” Cassie continued.
When she saw she wasn’t getting the desire response from Moyo, she turned towards the stairs in a hurry. Moyo silently watched her disappear from her view.
Was she even bothered about her parents?
No matter how heartless she was, she should be a bit worried about them? But she didn’t seem to be worried at all. She seemed very at ease with how things were going. Maybe, she hated them that much.
As Moyo thoughts travel around, just then her phone rang. She looked at it to see an incoming call from Aaron. She smiled at it before picking up.
“I had no idea it will be this difficult to see you. Can you tell you your security to allow us in?”
They went through the same process they did at the gate, but this time Moyo went outside to meet them. Aaron and Bayo stood beside each other. For a minute, she only waited and looked at them. These two guys – together. If anyone had told her that something would bring them together, she would have doubted it, but looking at the together now.
She knew that anything was possible.
With that hope, she assured herself that her mother would be found.
They were both lost staring at the house with no direction where to turn to. So, Moyo moved closer and, “Boom.”
It was only Aaron that cowered in fear; Bayo already had a fighting stance ready. Moyo laughed at them both, “How did you both know to come here?”
Aaron glared at Bayo in an amusing way, “I was coming alone before this leech stuck to me.”
Bayo returned the expression, “Do you think I will let you have all the fun alone, while I am somewhere wondering why my beautiful friend wasn’t in school? You must be joking.”
Moyo stared at them both bicker, and wonder how they ended up here together if they couldn’t stand the sight of each other. After they had finished their display of love, she ushered them into the living room and asked a maid to bring refreshment for them both.
“How do you feel now? Cassie said you were seriously ill.” Aaron asked; a look of worry etched over his face.
Moyo nodded “I’m fine. Not that sick. Just needed to rest a bit.”
Bayo’s eyes lit up in excitement, “I get it. I’m also tired of school and rehearsal. I wish I could take a break from school.”
Moyo smiled sadly, she wished it was as simple as her being tired from school. She didn’t want to spoil her mood by reminiscing on her parents; she decided to change the topic. “How’s school? And how come you guys came here on foot. Is something wrong with your cars?”
Bayo wanted to speak, but Aaron beat him to it. “We came with my car, but decided to leave it outside the estate. I wanted to see the environment you live in.”
The refreshment arrive and they were keeping her company. Moyo had no idea she would miss this two guys this much, but seeing them in her house made her smile sadly. They were able to take her mind off things she didn’t want to think about, and able to make her laugh. Aaron informed her that they took a temporary break from practice because of her – it was impossible to act without the main female lead.
She thanked him for that.
Just as they were about to leave, they heard footsteps that made them all turn towards the staircase.
Cassie stood at the middle of the step staring at them with so much hatred. There was no hiding it as she clenched her fist openly without a word.
