MAAZ'S POV: (OHHhh... he is back) ;)

I watched a car passing by through the windscreen and glanced back to my watch, it was 11:45 am already and I have been waiting here for her since 6:00, but she didn't show up, I have already visited the Uncle's grave and made dua for him and right after that I am just sitting here waiting for her.

I was so damn excited to meet her that I cancelled all my schedule for the whole day and spend all morning to think what would I do or what I would say to her, even rehearsed in front of the mirror, I was never so nervous in my life before, but today I was anxious, my palms were getting sweaty, but now it's almost midnight and she hasn't shown up yet, which ignited my anger on her stupidity, who in the hell visits graveyard in the middle of the night.

I picked up my cell phone from the seat and called Miss Noureen, "Let me talk to Adil," I said right after she received the call,

"Yes, Maaz Bhai," I heard Adil's sleepy voice, "Adil, Where is she? I have been waiting for her since 6 and she hasn't shown up yet," I said, looking out in the dark,

"What?" he asked, "Why are you waiting for her till now? I told you she went there exactly at 6:00 am," he told me, I groaned out loud,

"What! I have been waiting for her since 6:00 pm, you didn't tell me that, you said she will be there at 6, and who the hell goes there so early?" I asked, totally irritated with my idiocy, DAMN!

" I guess it was a misunderstanding, don't worry Bhai, I will talk to her," he said,

"Now I am so sleepy, can I go?" he asked in his sleepy voice,

"Yeah, buddy, go have some sleep, I am sorry to wake you up," I said,

"Don't worry Bhai, you will meet her someday In Sha Allah, take care and Allah Hafiz," he said and cut the call, I tossed the phone on the seat and slam my hand on the steering wheel, Damn it!

"Sir, how much do we have to wait?" I heard Steve, standing next to my car,

"You all should go back now," I said and started the engine,

"But, Sir, where are you going?" he asked,

"I will be with Nani ma," I replied and press the accelerator before he could ask anything more, I was so angry at myself, why in the hell I didn't confirm the timings from Adil, how stupid I am, this was my only chance and I just blew it up! I was driving recklessly as I curse myself.

I reached into the hospital and headed towards Nani ma's room, she was sitting on the chair, reading a book, when I entered, she put down the book and looked up to me and smiled,

"So, how was it, my child? Did you meet her?" she asked, getting up from her chair and sat on the bed. I stayed quiet and walked to her and sit down with her and put my head on her lap.

"You didn't meet her, didn't you?" she asked, sound a little concerned, I smiled, she knows me very well.

"Yes," I replied shortly and told her everything, she didn't say anything, just run her fingers through my hairs,

"Don't be sad, beta, In Sha Allah, next time you will meet her," she said, kissing my temple, I looked up to her, "Is there going to be a next time Nani ma, it's been two years and you don't know how miserable I was without her, I want to apologize and make everything better for her," I said, snuggling my face into her and circled my hands around her waist,

"Yes, there will be a next time, Maaz, don't lose your hope," She said, with a small smile,

"You sure?" I asked, she nodded and kissed my forehead again, we both talked about some other things afterward and I fell asleep there lying next to her.

I woke by the sound of my phone, I look around for it and saw it on the table, I carefully got down from the bed, trying not to disturb Nani ma from her sleep, I picked up the call and stop a yarn from my other hand,

"What is it?" I asked as I saw Arsal's number on the screen.

"Sir, you have this meeting with those foreign stakeholders, we have been waiting for you since thirty minutes, I already mailed you the details of this meeting yesterday," he said and I just groan, how did I forget that!

"I will be there shortly," I said and cut the call, I glanced up at the clock, it was 11:00 am already, I never overslept in my life, I cursed again and pick my things up and went to Nani ma, I gently kissed her forehead and left from there.

I reached home and quickly got into the shower and changed into my suits and stuff the tie in my pocket along with my watch and wallet and run down the stairs to my car and got in and started driving, it was 11:30 already, I speed up the car and took a sharp turn around the corner but hit the brakes as I saw a woman coming in front of my car from no where. I got down from the car annoyed with her, why everyone is in so much hurry? Can't they wait for a few minutes?

"Get out of my way woman! I am already late!" I said, moving towards her, I saw her back stiffened as I walk closer, slowly she turns around and I was shocked to see her, the same hazel brown eyes, I urged to see again for so long, I recognize her through the veil she was wearing, she looked so stunned watching me,

"Areesha!" I called her out, she looked at me, but didn't say anything, I took a step decreasing the space between us, but she pulls back and took several steps back,

"Areesha!" I called her again, but she shook her head,

"No, No, this can not be happening!" she said and started running away from me, I just was rooted to my place, she was still afraid of me, I saw that same fear in her eyes, Damn!

"Areehsa! Please listen to me for once, just give me a chance to explain myself, please Areesha!" I said running behind her, but she ignored me and started running faster, I chase her from a distance and saw her going into the building, I ran behind her but the security guard caught me from my arm, stopping me to go inside,

"Sir, you can't go inside without the security check," he said, but I release my arm from his grip,

"Get away from me!" I yelled and move forward, but he again caught me from behind,

"Sir, I am sorry, I can't let you go," he said, flaring my anger, I looked up to the small lobby area where I last saw Areesha, but she was not there, I look around for her, but got nothing,

"Sir," that security guard called me again, he was getting on my nerves, I took a few steps away from him and it took all of my efforts, not to punch him right across his face.

"I am going," I said, raising both of my hands and walked out of the building, I looked up to the name and called Arsal, telling him the name of this building and ask him to get me all the information on the owner and cut the call, a small smile creep up on my face,

At last, I know where she lives now, just wait and watch Areesha, I am coming!

I got a call from Arsal when I was in my office going through some files after my meeting with those stakeholders, "Yes, what did you got?" I asked him and he started telling me all the details,

"Okay, very well, arrange me a meeting with him today," I ordered,

"But, Sir, you already have a busy schedule for today and if you don't mind, can I ask you something?" he said, I let out a brief sigh, "just set me a meeting with him," I said

"Yes, what do you want to ask?"

"What are you planning, I mean he is just a small businessman, he doesn't have any more assets other than that apartment complex," he asked, " I just want to buy those apartments, even I have to pay double for them," I told him,

"But, Sir, they are not so high rise residence, why would you be interested to purchase them?" he asked me again,

"Arsal," I called him, "Yes, Sir?"

"You ask way too many questions,"

"Just do what I have asked you and let me know before the lunch and prepare the documents, I want them today!" I said and cut the call,

After the meeting with that guy I sign the documents and shake his hands, I just can not wait to see Areehsa now, I look into the details of the apartment and was a bit surprised not to see her name anywhere, but one name caught my eye and I tightly bawled my fist, I need to pay a visit to Ehtehsaam now. I called Steve and asked him the location of Ehtehsaam, he told me he was still in his office.

I barged into his office, with his assistant trailing behind trying to stop me, but Ehtehsaam ask him to let it go and turn to me,

"So, why do I owe this surprise visit Maaz?" he asked calmly, I gritted my teeth and punched him straight in his face, he stumbles backward holding his jaw with his hand and wipe the blood from his lips,

" Use your words Maaz, I don't want us to get into a fight," he said playfully, inflaming my anger,

"You knew it all along! You lied to me on my face! I asked you several times, but you lied to me, why? She is my wife! I have every right to know about her! Why the bloody hell you hide it from me?" I yelled, grabbing him from his collars,

"Yeah, I know I lied to you, and I am not sorry at all! I just keep my promise to her, to keep her away from you idiot! Don't you get it? She doesn't want to be with you," he said, pushing me away from him, I stood there watching him blankly,

What does he mean?

" When she came to me that night she was so scared and broken, she doesn't even want to hear your name, she asked me to help her and to keep her away from you and to keep her identity secret, I just did what I thought was right for her, how many times Maaz, how many times she tried to tell you the truth, but you didn't give her a single chance, she wanted to tell you everything, you were her last hope, but you let her down so badly!" he stopped for a second and continued, "she has been through so much in her past, Just leave her alone," he said

I drop myself on the chair and cover my face, "No, Ehtehsaam, I can't leave her alone, I want to apologize for what I did, I want her back in my life, she is the only woman I ever wanted, I have been searching her for years when she was with me all the time, you won't understand this Ehtehsaam, but I have to meet her," I said,

"Well, I am sorry, I can't help you with that, but I will advise you to take it slowly, she hasn't overcome with her fear, you need to be extra careful with her," he said,

"I know, I have messed everything up, but now I want to make it all better," I said dropping my head on my hands,

Ehteshaam smiled, "Well, I know you will do it, just clear your mind and think a suitable plan for it, after all, you are Maaz Jafferi!" he said, making me roll my eyes at him, I stood up from my place and extended my hand to him,

"Thank you for keeping her safe," I said with a smile, he grinned shaking my hand,

"How is Mahrosh?" I asked,

"Well, you should stay away from her otherwise she will beat you up so badly that I won't be able to stop her, she is still angry at you," he said, I chuckle,

"Allah Help me, my list of apologizing, people are getting longer," I said, we both laugh and I bid him goodbye.

I glanced at the watch, it was 1:00 am already, I felt exhausted, but I wanted to see her, so I drive all the way back to her apartments and sneak into the building, I took stairs and headed straight to her room, I unlock it easily with the help of my pocket knife and some tricks I learned in the collage, I entered slowly and close the door behind me, only the side lamp was illuminating the small area but I could see everything, this was a small apartment with a single bedroom, a living room, and a small open kitchen, everything was neat and clean, a single couch in the living room was placed near the rug, few paintings were hanging on the white wall, a small dining table was placed near the corner, I slowly opened the door next to the kitchen and saw her sleeping on the bed, I stepped in and took a seat beside her bed and watched her sleep, I don't know why but watching her from distance gave me some kind of unknown pleasure and I felt like a massive burden lifted away from my shoulders, I lean back on the chair and watched her while lighting a cigarette .

She started to toss and turn, mumbling something that I couldn't understand, I wanted to touch her and to comfort her, but before I could do anything she woke up screaming from her sleep, I stay there watching her silently, when she lowers her head and started to cry, which broke my heart watching her suffering like this, I curse myself again for treating her like that, for not trusting her! Damn! I am an idiot!

"No! No! not again, not this again, please no!" I said and woke up from that same nightmare, again my body was shaking badly, I wipe the sweat from my forehead and drop my head on my hands and started to cry again, every night I fear to fell asleep, every night I got these nightmares, reminded me of my past, I took a deep breath in and scrunch my nose as I smell that awful odor and that's when I noticed someone's presence in my room, getting panicked I look around in the dark but saw him sitting on the chair in the corner watching me intensely make me gulp harder. I close my hands into the fist and shiver as the cold wind touches my body, but his presence calmed me, the pain and distress I bear after all those nightmares were gone.

"What are you doing here? And how did you get in?" I asked, getting down from the bed and cover my body with the duvet, he slowly stood up from the chair and took small steps towards me, as he closes the distance between us, I took a step back and hit my back on the wall, he came closer and put his hands on the both sides of my head, caging me in, I tightly shut my eyes and tighten my grip on the duvet,

"I just wanted to see you Areesha, don't you think it's been a long time," he whispers in my ear and a shiver run down my spine as his breath was fanning my face,

"Areesha, please, you don't have to be afraid of me, I wanted to apologize for everything I did in the past, but now I learned all the truth and I have changed, I have also learned the biggest truth of my life, Areesha, I can't live without, please give me a chance to prove myself, please," he said, but I didn't open my eyes, I thought it was another dream, I will open my eyes and will lose his feeling, his warmness near me and I don't know why I don't want him to go, so I just kept my eyes closed feeling him near me,

"Areesha!" he called me softly and I felt his thumb caressing my jaw,

"Areesha! Open your eyes, love, I can assure you this is not a dream," he said gently kissing my eyes, did I say that loud, I thought and hold my breath, afraid to move a single muscle in my body,

He lifted my face and I opened my eyes looking back into his gray orbs, the same mesmerizing eyes, I wanted to see again, we hold each other's gaze for a long time when I recall the memory of his face covered in blood came into my mind, I pushed him away from me and drop myself down on the floor covering my face with the duvet and tried to stop the tears.

"Shh... Areesha, please, don't cry, please calm down," I heard him again, as I felt his hands around me, pulling me on his lap and rocking me back and forth, I again tried to push him away but he tightens his grip on me,

"No! Get away from me! Please don't touch me!" I shouted, but he did not let go, just hold me in his arms, I started to kick and punch him but he did not release me and took all the beating,

"Calm down, love, just take a deep breath," he said, caressing my back, as I lay my head on his shoulder and again started to cry on my weakness, why I am so weak!

Why my heart wants to forgive him for what he did to me,

Why I wanted him to hold me forever like this,

Why my heart has this yearning desire for him,

Why!

"You have to go Maaz, you can't stay here," I said after a long time and pulled myself away from him,

"No, I won't leave you ever again," he replied, holding my hands, but I yank my hands away from him,

"No, please, don't! Just leave me alone Maaz, Please!" I pleaded, he watched me for a moment, pain and hurt evident in his eyes,

"Okay, I am going but only for now, I will come back for you Areesha," he said after a long silence and left the room, leaving me there sitting on the cold floor with a tear-stained face.

Ya Allah! What shall I do!
