AREESHA'S POV:

I slowly opened my eyes and groaned as my head was hurting so much, I closed them again and tried to feel something around me and I felt a little hand resting on mine, I smiled and opened my eyes this time ignoring the pain, Adil was sitting beside me and watching me with worried expressions,

"You scared me Api!" he said, "I thought you will leave me just like mama did," he said between his hiccups,

"Hey! I am fine, nothing happened to me buddy! I will never leave you," I said holding his little hand in mine, he lay beside me and I wrapped my arms around him protectively, we both lay there for a few minutes, I was stroking Adil's hair and was trying to calm him, as he was crying hugging me tightly,

"Oh, thank god! You are awake! You scared me," I heard Alex coming into my room, he was holding a tray which he placed on the side table,

"Well, thanks to you, "I said mockingly, he came to us and sat on the chair near the bed,

"I am sorry, okay! I had to do that in order to let my father believe I am with him, if I didn't do that he must have done much worse to you, and I really didn't know it was going to rain last night, otherwise I would never have left you out there," he said,

"Just go away Alex, I don't want to see you right now," I said turning my face away from him,

"Well, okay, but you should take these medicines after having this soup, I think you will feel better after it," he said, pointing towards the hot soup from which steam was coming out, and it really smelled delicious, I nodded and he left,

Adil help me to sit and I took a sip of the soup, it was good, I gulp down the liquid and felt some warmness, after drinking the whole soup I picked up the bottles of medicines and took two tablets of each and gulp them down with water and laid straight on my bed.

There was a soft knock on the door and again Alex came in carrying a huge pink box,

"What is it?" I asked,

"Delivery from a lover boy!" he said and placed it on my bed and left closing the door shut with a loud bang, I shook my head and untie the white ribbon from the box, as I opened the first thing I found was a very cute white and pink stuffed teddy bear holding a white paper, I picked him up and took the paper from him and put it beside me, I opened the folded paper and read it,

"I want you to wear this tonight,"

I looked into the box again and found a gorgeous white dress, I took it out and hold it straight in my hands, it was the most beautiful dress that I have ever seen in my life, it had white pearls on the border and fine blue embroidery was done along the edges of the whole dress, the bodice was covered with silver and blue silk thread embroidery, all in all it was so lovely dress that only looking at it I felt so good. Beneath the dress were royal blue velvet stilettos, I just eyed them and wonder, how I would walk in these shoes,

"Api! it is so soft!" Adil said, clutching the teddy bear to his chest, I smiled looking at him and put all the things aside and lay down on the bed and tried to sleep again, but this time there was a sly smile on my lips,

"Thank you Maaz," I whispered before giving myself into the peaceful sleep.

"No, she is fine now, you don't need to call for a doctor," I heard the first thing as I woke up in the evening,

"Why didn't you tell me she was seriously sick?" I heard Maaz's voice,

"She is perfectly fine Maaz," Alex said

"Let me go inside!" he yelled,

"Maaz, she is sleeping and I don't want you to disturb her, she hasn't sleep whole night, so let her take some rest," Alex said, there was a silent pause and in another moment Maaz came through the doors, opening them widely, I looked at him and then I watched Alex, who was trying to stand up from the floor, Maaz came to me and I cover myself from the duvet till neck, I was in my pajamas!

He sat on the chair beside my bed and put his hand on my forehead, then he holds my wrist and started counting my pulse, I just smiled looking at him, how adorable he seems to be like a caring person,

"Maaz, I..." I tried to say something, but he placed his finger on my lips making me quiet, after spending more minutes playing as a doctor, he smiled, looking at me,

"Why didn't you inform me that you were so sick?" he asked passing me a fruit bowl, I took the bowl from him and shoved the juicy fruits and berries in my mouth, moaning in delight as the flavors exploded in my mouth,

"It was nothing, I am feeling fine now," I answered as I swallowed the fruits and took another mouthful of them again,

"You had a spike of fever and you are saying it was nothing, you fainted on your doorstep and you think it's not a big deal," he asked,

"Yeah... but right now I am feeling absolutely fine! I really want to go to Haya's wedding," I said, he stared me,

"Are you serious? You are not going anywhere other than to the hospital with me," he said, crossing his arms on his chest making his strong and large frame more prominent,

"Please Maaz, I really want to go," I said, he again looked at me for a few seconds then sighed,

"Okay, but if you didn't feel well, we will come back that instant and you will not leave my side for a second, understand?" he asked, I nodded and grinned at him, he rolled his eyes at me, "I will pick you up till eight , you have two hours to get ready so don't waste it and be ready on time," he said and left after caressing my cheek with his finger, I was really taken by his behavior today, he acted like a caring person, like he really cares for me, that thought made by grin wider ad I hugged the teddy bear lying beside me, I glanced at the wall clock and stood up from the bed a wave of dizziness crossed but I didn't pay attention to it and ran into my bathroom and took a quick shower, after drying my hairs I walked out of my room in search for Adil, who was sitting on the couch munching on the chocolates and watching "the boss baby".

Alex came into the living room as I was about to sit next to Adil, "where is Uncle?" I asked him,

"He has gone to Haweli for three days, he had some work to do there," he informed me, "So, just relax," he said, I nodded and took a mouthful of chocolate from Adil's hand, "You know, you are spoiling him," I said to Alex, he frowned looking at me,

"ME?" he asked,

"Yeah, you should not give him this amount of sweets," I said, taking away the big bag of chocolates from Adil,

"Hey!" he protested,

"That's enough for now Adil," I said, he returned watching his movie,

"Well, you should say that to Maaz, he brought these chocolates for Adil," he told me, and I was surprised listening to that, first, he was not allowing me to keep Adil with me and now he is being so good towards us, this was strange.

"You should go get ready, he will be here in just half an hour," Alex said, I stood up from my place and kissed Adil's head and walked back to my room, but as I closed the door I gripped the handle tightly as I felt dizzy standing there, I shut my eyes and took a deep breath and steady myself, when it was over I walked towards my dresser where I had placed my dress on the rack, I quickly changed into the dress Maaz,send me earlier and braided my hairs in side French, I applied minimum amount of makeup and lastly I put on my stilettos, which were really hard to wear, I picked up my bracelet and engagement ring from the inner drawer and slid it into my finger and wrist, when I was spraying the perfume I heard Alex calling me, I walked down the stairs carefully and when I reached the last step I saw Maaz standing there eying up and down, nervously I looked at him, his face was blank,he didn't even said a word, just turned around and walked away to the main door.

I followed him and stopped right next to his car, he opened the door for me and when I got in he slammed the door and walked around the car and took driving seat, he started the engine and started driving so skillfully at the speed of 349 km/hr, I clutched the seatbelt as my life depend on it and closed my eyes, trying to relax myself, but it was getting really difficult for me as I was feeling nauseatic at this moment and didn't want to ruin his precious Ferrari GTC4Lusso, after few more minutes drive he parked his car infront of the hotel near the beach, he was about to climbed out of the car when I stopped him, "wait," I said, he looked at me, frowning his perfect brow at me,

"I shouldn't go out there in front of media," I said,

"And why is that so?" he asked,

"I don't look suitable for you," I said in a low tone,

"What?" he asked,

"I said I don't look good to be standing right next to you in front of the whole world!" I blurted out, he looked at me for second and lifted my face with his index finger and made me look at him, "Never say that again Areesha, you look perfect standing right next to me, that is your only place you should be in your life and don't underestimate yourself, you are the most beautiful girl this world will see tonight," he said and got down from the car and help me got down from there, he hold my hand in his in a firm grip and proceeded towards the main entrance,but as I started walking with him, I felt another wave of dizziness and I tighten my grip on his hand and closed my eyes as the flash lights from cameras were making it more difficult for me to stand, Maaz instantly wrapped his arm around my waist and led me into the hotel with his security guards,when we reached the main lobby,he released me,

"Are you feeling okay?" he asked, I nodded and smiled assuring him that nothing was wrong with me, he sighed and started walking to the main hall where the wedding ceremony was being held, but when we enter the hall I gasped, looking at my surrounding, it was totally breathtakingly, so elegant and beautiful, I roamed my eyes through all the exquisite arrangements and landed on the beautiful sea outside the window, it was just one of the best experience of my life, beaches, lakes, waterfalls and streams always fascinated me and right now I wanted to out there and feel that water under my feet, but Maaz pulled me with him towards the group of men and introduced me to them and they all started talking about business again, same boring conversation! I looked around and saw Haya sitting with her groom, they both were looking so adorable that I silently send prayers for them and smiled at Haya when she saw me, she waved a us and got down from the stage and went somewhere, but she returned in a few minutes with a very strikingly handsome man,

"Maaz, Meet my brother and his wife Mahrosh, and Mahrosh, this is my best friend and his fiancé," Haya introduced us to them, Maaz coldly shook his hand with Mr. Ehteshaam and gave him a serious glare, in return he also was a bit cold towards him, but when I saw his wife standing next to him, we both squeal!

"Areesha Bakht! Oh my god! I can't believe it!" she said coming towards me and hugged me, I was also delighted to see Mahrosh after a long time, she was my school friend and her mother was a really good friend of my mother, they were just a perfect family, she had one elder brother, Arham Bhai, he was really so caring and her father was just like mine,

"You know her?" Ehteshaam asked her, "Yes, she is my school friend," she answered, Aliyaan excused Haya from us.

"Can I take her with me?" Mahrosh asked Maaz, he was silent for a moment, but nodded whispered, "be careful," in my ear, I nodded and left with Mahrosh.

"We have so much catch up to do," she said excitedly, holding my hand, "your dress is so beautiful," I said looking at her adorable dress, it had diamonds on them!

"Jazak Allah, but I really like your dress as well," she said, looking at my white dress, it was the coincidence that we both were wearing the same color and same design dress, in response she just smiled,

"How are your parents?" she asked, and I drop the smile from my face recalling my parents.

"They both died," I said sadly, "I am sorry Areesha," she said, hugging me, I hugged her back as I recall our good memories together, but due to my grandfather and some of his men, we had to move away from that city and we didn't contact anyone after moving away from there.

"Hey, everything is going to be fine, come on let me introduce you to Baba Jan," she said, and started walking towards the group of elder men.

"Who is he?" I asked,

"Ehteshaam's father," she answered,

"Oh, how is uncle Ehsaan, Aunt Shumaila and Arham Bhai?" I asked her,

"They are fine," she said, discontentedly,

"Hey, is there something wrong?" I asked,

"I will tell you later, we have so much catch up to do, but Alhamdulillah, I am happy," she said confidently, and this was the thing I adore about her was the way she looks everyone, her trust towards Allah SWT was so strong, I wish I could be near to Allah SWT like her.

"And how did you get engaged to Maaz Jaferi," she asked

"Long story Mahrosh, I will tell you later," I said, looking at Maaz, who was now talking to some girls,

"Is there something wrong?" she asked,

"Everything is slipping out of my hands yaar, I don't know what I should do," I said in a hoarse voice, as tears started welling up in my eyes.

"Hey... don't be sad, I am with you, if you need any kind of help, just let me know, okay, I will be there to help you," she said,

"You didn't change a bit Mahrosh," I said, giving her a weak smile,

"Why would I ever change?' she asked,

"Whatever happens in our life changes us, the experiences we gain change us Mahrosh," I said, telling her my own experience, but the thing was I didn't want to change myself for anyone I like the way I am.

"No, whatever happens in our life happens for a reason Areesha, there is a meaning behind it, we don't understand it at that time, but later we know, what that means to us, we just have to stay strong and trust Allah SWT," she said,

"You are right," I said, as we both reached Baba Jan,

"Baba Jan, meet my friend Areesha, and Areesha meet my father," she introduced me to him,

"Baba Jan smiled and put his hand over my head and gave me lots of dua, Mahrosh introduced me to other people and to all the children who live with her in a building on their estate, littlegirl named Fatima was so fond of me, that she didn't let me go anywhere without her. When the dinner was served Ehteshaam make her sit next to him, on the next table I was sitting beside Maaz, but he was not paying attention to me, he was busy chatting to another woman sitting at his other side, he didn't even glance at me for a once during the dinner, I was totally okay with it, I focused on the divine food in front of me.

After the dinner there was a session of photography and everyone was taking pictures with each other and with the groom and bride, after that session, it was time for Haya's rukhsati, (departure from parent's house) Ehteshaam, hold her hand and led her to the main entrance, Mahrosh stood near Baba Jan.

I came back inside with Maaz, he asked, how I was feeling, I assured him that I was fine, but for his satisfaction he played doctor with me again. Making me huff in annoyance, but he ignored me and continued his task, he took out a bottle of asprin and gave it to me with a glass of water, I tried to refuse,but his one warning glare was enough for me to quietly take the pills and gulp down my throat.

"I will be right back, don't go anywhere," he said and left me standing in a corner,

"Come on lets go outside," Mahrosh said coming to me and started taking off her heels, I looked at her surprised, "No, I don't think it's a good idea," I said looking at the sea behind her,

"It will be fun," she said, pulling me up, "Mahrosh, I still don't think it is suitable to go out there with this dress," I said,

"Come on, we are not going into the water, let's just have a walk on the beach, look, it's looking so beautiful and relaxing," she said,

"Okay, let's go," I agreed and took off my heels and placed them right next to hers, we both exited the hall and made our way towards the beach, we chatted about some random things and then she told me how she met Ehteshaam and all the things happened in her life, she told me about a guy named Arsalan, who tried to kill her family in front of her own eyes and how Ehteshaam came to her rescue that day.

"In Sha Allah, Mahrosh, you will meet your family one day, Ehteshaam Bhai really loves you, you are one of the luckiest girl," I said, as I recall the way he was looking at her.

"Well, you are the fiancé of Maaz Jaferi, don't you think, you have broken so many girls hearts, they must envy you," she said playfully,

"I wish! But Mahrosh, this is not the real marriage, it's a business deal, nothing else, I am just nobody for Maaz, I am a deal for him," I told her,

"What?" she asked, astonished

"How does that happen and why did you agree on that?" she asked as we stopped on our tracks, I was quiet for some time and watched the waves in front of us,

"I had no choice other than this, I had to do this in order to save Adil and myself," I said,

"Adil?" she asked,

"My younger brother," I replied,

"What happened Areesha? You can tell me, I promise I will help you as much as I can," she said, I sighed audibly,

"From where I should start?" I asked and was silent for some time, but I started telling her about uncle Javed and Alex, we both looked around us, there were only a few people, it was getting dark and quiet,

"May be we should go back," she said, looking around sensing something is going wrong as few men passed staring at us,

"Yes, I think we should go," I said, holding her hand,

We both started going back towards the doors when someone grabbed me from behind and placed a cloth over my mouth, silencing my loud scream and the last thing I saw before darkness overcome my senses was the limp body of Mahrsoh lying on the floor.
