AREESHA'S POV:

Alex pulled his car on the driveway and unlocked the doors from my side, I got out carefully with sleeping Adil in my arms, I shifted him to my right side and from one hand, and I lifted my dress,

"Here, give him to me, "Alex said coming around his car, and took Adil from my hands, I glanced around to find the empty space of an uncle's car.

"Where is uncle?" I asked Alex, as he unlocked the main door with a key,

"Out with some of his friends," he answered and I knew what he meant by that, uncle was gone to having some drinks and probably he will be coming back totally drunk and I will have to secure my bedroom's door from him and most of all, I shouldn't go in front of him when he is in such kind of state. I sighed and chased after Alex, who was now going upstairs with Adil in his arms, I kneel down and took off my heel and proceeded towards my bedroom upstairs, when I reached there Alex was coming out of it after placing sleeping Adil on the mattress.

"You shouldn't come out till he is gone, I will come to get you when dad will leave the house in the morning," he said,

"I don't understand Alex, why you have changed so much suddenly, is there anything I should be concerned of?" I asked,

"Everything on the right time sister today is definitely not the suitable time to tell you anything," he said and walked off, I sighed and enter into my bedroom. I switched off the lights and lit up the fairy lights I hanged on the ceiling, I just loved the way these little lights lit up the whole room, it resembles the sky for me, which I adore to look whenever I got a chance, I don't know, but I feel relaxed looking into the depths of the sky especially in the night and when there is a full moon or the bed of stars illuminate in the darkness.

I took off my dupatta and placed t carefully on the back of chair and went into the washroom after pulling out some of my comfortable pajamas and a T-shirt and took a quick shower and came out wrapping a towel around my hairs, I quickly dried my long hairs and changed Adil into his night dress, he didn't even budge when I changed his clothes, he was fast asleep, I placed his clothes on the wrack, and lay the praying mat on the floor and offered my salah, after dua, I recited some surahs and then I got into my bed with Adil, I pulled him closer to me and drifted to sleep.

I woke by Adil, who was waking me up for water, I pulled my self up and poured him some water in a glass, he took it from me and gulp it down in one motion,

"Api, I want more! I am feeling so thirsty," he said sleepily,

I looked back at the empty bottle and got down from the bed and made my way to the door,

"No matter what happens, don't come out of the room, okay buddy?" I said, he nodded and lay back on the bed,

"I will be right back," I said and turn the knob of the door and peeked outside, the coast was clear, so I quickly ran down the stairs to the kitchen, I took out the chilled water bottle and closed the door, but I squeal when I saw Uncle Javed sitting on the counter stool, with a bottle of whisky in his hand,

"Oh, you little monsters! You destroyed my life!" he said, getting up from the stool, I quickly tried to walk past him, but he holds me from my hairs and yanked me back towards him, I cried out in pain,

"Uncle, please let me go, you are not in your senses," I said, trying to free myself from his hold, but he was stronger than I thought,

"You think, you can ignore me huh? Being with that filthy billionaire you think you can do whatever you want huh? Answer me!" he shouted and throw me on the floor,

"I didn't do anything like that uncle," I said cleaning the blood from my mouth as the side of counter hit my face when he pushed me,

"If you think you can get rid of me after marrying him, it's your biggest mistake Areehsa," he said, kneeling down in front of me, I just stayed silent,

"Where is your engagement ring?" he asked

" Why do you want it?" I asked,

"Give it to me!" he shouted,

"No, I won't give it to you," I said stubbornly, why I should give him the thing which belongs to Maaz, that ring is neither mine nor his, I will return it back to Maaz safely.

"Give it to me!" he shouted again, "I am sorry uncle, but I can't give it to you," I said, but he slapped me hard, "being faithful to that cruel man huh! I will show you what happens to those who disobey me!" he said, holding me again from my hairs, I tried to scream for help as he was dragging me towards the main door, I was beyond terrified at that time, he can do anything, I can expect anything from him, I bite on his hand as hard as I could and ran towards the staircase, I called for Alex, after shouting several times he came out of his room angrily and caught me from my elbow,

"What in the bloody hell is wrong with you two! It's 3:00 am, let me sleep for the god sake!" he said, but uncle Javed came to us and caught me from my other elbow and pushed me towards him, "Go, back to sleep Alex, we were just discussing something really important," he said and yanked me towards him, but Alex caught me before uncle could hold me, "Dad, just leave her alone!" he said standing in front of me blocking Uncle from me,

"Move Alex! Tonight I will show her what happens when she disobeys me!" he said, trying to push past Alex, but Alex pulled me back and hold uncle's hand in his,

"Dad! Just stop it!" he said, "If you want to punish her then let me do it for you, you should go and take some rest," he said and I just stared at his back, why everyone in my life turns their back on me?

"No, I won't go until she is around here! Such a disobedient and spoiled brat she is!" he shouted,

"Okay, relax dad!" he said holding him from his shoulders and turns to me, he mouthed sorry and roughly grab me from my shoulder and drag me down to the stairs and opened the backdoor of the kitchen and pushed me out there and locked the door again, I tired to open the door, but it was of no use,it was really cold outside,as the cold wild blew I felt shiver ran down my spine, I tightly gripped the scarf, I was wearing and wrapped it around my body, my teeth started to chatter from the cold, I sat near the doorstep and tried to knock but my hands just started to go numb because of the cold, I called Adil for help but I think he didn't listen to me, I glanced around myself to find something but there was nothing I could use for my defence, I tried to open the windows but they we also locked, I slam my hand on the glass with frustration.

Uncle Javed slid the curtains and looked at me with a grin plastered on his face, "That's the least I thought for you Areesha, thank my son, he chooses something that simple for you, remember, if you ever try to defy me the consequences will be more severe," he said,

"Why don't you just kill me! Ease my pain! Just go have all the money, that belongs to my father and let me live in peace with them! Just end this now! I am tired of all this!" I shouted as I lose my control on my emotions, in response he laughed and slid the curtains again, leaving me alone in this dark, cold night alone, I wipe my tears and sat under the roof near the doorstep when I hear the loud noise of thunder and in just a few minutes it started to rain,

"That's more like it!" I muttered and wrapped the damped scarf around myself, more tightly and lay my head on the door and started reciting verses which I could remember at this time, slowly my eyes were going heavier, but the cold wind and rain was not helping me out in this situation, I tried to cover my face from the cold wind and rubbed them together to warm them, I curled my body and lay my head between my hands and tried to sleep, ignoring the wind and loud sound of thunder.

I woke by the sound of the door opening and uncle Javed came through and when he saw me lying on the floor, he smirked and came to me, he kicked me hard on my abdomen that cried out in pain and tears started to well up in my eyes because of the ache in my abdomen,

"Pathetic!" he said from my behind and walked out. I stayed there trying to bear the pain, but it was too much for me, I heard Adil's voice from upstairs, he was calling for me, "Adil!"I shouted as loud as I could, he came running down to me and kneeled beside me, he covered me with his sweater he was wearing and hold my face with his little one,

"What happen Api?" he asked as he started crying,

"I am fine, just help me get in," I said, he nodded and clean my face with the napkin and draped the warm shawl over me which he bought from our room, he helped me to get up but my whole body was aching right now, I couldn't feel my legs, I stumble upon him, but he managed to steady me, "Api, you are burning," he said as he placed his hand on my forehead, I tried to look at him but before I could say anything I my eyes go heavier and my head was spinning, "Api!" he called, but I didn't replied to him, I felt my legs go weak and this time I couldn't steady myself, I fainted but before giving myself into the darkness I felt two arms wrapped around me.
