We finally are back at New York to our house. Janet was so excited as she showed her mother around the house. Lydia and Conner got back to their jobs and I went back to the hospital. I was glad nothing bad happened. Before anything else, I even made some experts check the house to find anything unusual. I had some new, advanced locks installed in the house so only we can enter. Janet is also back to her appointments with Dr. Renne and today he will make her talk about mostly everything she had gone through and I am highly hoping it goes well. "Near the house at the back alley." I told him as I pressed my hand on Conners head to stop the blood. I didn't knew if it was okay to even to do that.

"What happened?" He sounded angry as he was breathing heavily.

"S- Seirra caught me and Conner tri- tried to defend me but got hit i- in the head. He is bleeding badly." I told him everything while trying to wake up Conner.

"Apply pressure to his wound. I am just a minute away." As soon as he said that he was standing right infront of me. He caught me in his hold and checked Conners injury. He took a piece of cloth and wrapped it on his head. We carried Conner to the hospital and he was quickly taken care off.

"I can stay with him for the night." Lydia suggested as Nathan agreed with her. I was glad that Conner was alright nothing too severe. The skin under his head, on the back of his neck was bleeded and lost alot of blood. So he will wake up in the morning. Conner had no family members so Lydia was staying with him.

"Come lets go home." I nodded my head as me, Nathan and mom walked out of the hospital and back to home. As Nathan parked the car, he turned around to face my mom Mom.

"Riley, I want to take Janet to her appointment with her doctor. Stay in the house and lock the doors." Nathan said as mom nodded her head and got out of the car, waving at us she went inside and then only Nathan reversed the car and went along the way.

"Janet, we don't have enough time. I want you to recover fast and I want that bitch in jail. So this might take some time and I want you to promise me something." He said as his palms fisted the steering wheel making his knuckles turn white. He was angry that was for sure.

"Promise you what?" I asked him as he glanced at me.

"Promise me, no matter what the consequences, you do not go to that woman. Even if she threatens to kill me." I gulped as I thought of what she said.

Get away from them and come back to me or I will kill each and everyone you know one by one. I might deliever their body parts to you.

I can't do it, I can't put anyone's lives at risk before mine. In this case, I can give myself away for them to be happy and breathing.

"She threatened me." Nathan parked the car as his attention was now full on me. His jaw clenched hearing my words as he raised his eyebrow.

"What did she say?" He questioned, his voice low and menacing.

"That if I don't go with her willingly, she will kill everyo e around me." When those words slipped my mouth, Nathan couldn't stop cursing and hit the steering wheel making me get scared. All of sudden, he took me in his arms and hugged the life out of me.

"Never Janet, I won't forgive you if you leave me. I will catch that fucking piece of shit. That bitch! And you will always stay with me. Okay?" I was already crying as he kissed my forehead multiple times, I didn't want to lose him either and I was scared of what could happen. My world will crumble if I lose him.

We stayed like this for so long, kissing each other like our life depended on it and stayed close to each other as if we were about to part our ways. Finally we went inside Dr. Renne as he sat with that big wide smile.

"Hello again, how was Maldives?" I instantly smiled as I told him every place we visited in Maldives. It was great to talk to him, my heart felt at ease. He was like a father figure and he made me feel free, that I could talk to him about anything.

"Janet? I got a question for you." I nodded my head as he spoke again.

"How was your life when you lived with your aunt?" He asked making me shiver as I remembered all those horrific beating and even some peaceful nights where she was away.

"It was great when she wasn't home or with anyone of her guys. But when she was home, her voice was all I could hear. As she shouted at me, blaming me and my parents for ruining her life. I always thought my parents left me because I wasn't needed but then when I met them. I came to realize that she was just trying to get in my head and she did." I told him with a sad sigh as he gave me a smile.

"Did you indure any physical pain?" He asked making me gulp.

"Yes. And I don't want to talk about it."

"Very well. Thats all I need to know. But I want you to look at yourself now Janet. I know you are thankful of what you have now and thats great. So don't go to the past, look at yourself now and keep moving on." I nodded my head as we kept talking for a little while before going out towards our house. Nathan was real quiet as I turned to face him.

"Why are you quiet?" I asked him.

"You didn't promise me." He said, his face emotionless.

"Promise you what?" I said as I took a hold of his hand.

"That no matter what happens, you won't go to that woman, even if my life depends on it." I hesitated as I turned to face away, towards the window. I can't do this, no I can't. He is all I have. I am selfish because I don't want to lose him, he needs to live his life and I am just being a obstacle.

"I promise." I lied with a smile as my heart started aching. I wish I didn't had to lie but it's the only way.

I am doing this only for him.
