3. He Is The One
I heard a knock on my door, which brought me out of my thoughts.
"Come in."
As I looked up at the man, he stirs up so many emotions in me that I can't even explain. He is unlike any other man—a mystery, a puzzle I am eager to solve. His presence alone evokes a mixture of curiosity and attraction, feelings I've never experienced with anyone else...
There he stood, holding my black coffee, his nerdy glasses perched on his nose along with ripped jeans and a black shirt. I felt an inexplicable attraction toward him. Those eyes behind the glasses were something I wanted to study—they seemed to speak more than he showed. I didn't believe in love, but this attraction to him, perhaps it was lust. After all, in this world, I believed there was no such thing as love—just people satisfying their physical desires and needs under the guise of love.
"Ma'am, here is your coffee," Armaan said.
"Keep it and make all preparations for the presentation of our new project. You're leading the team this time. I have high expectations for you. Don't make me regret my decision," she instructed, taking the coffee from his hand.
"I will ensure you never regret anything related to me," he murmured to himself.
"What did you say? I couldn't hear you properly," Eshana asked, not catching his words clearly.
"Nothing, okay ma'am. I'll do my best for this project," Armaan replied before leaving to attend to his duties.

Author pov,
Eshana had attended three video conferences and was deeply engrossed in her work on the laptop when suddenly, a beautiful young woman forcefully opened the door to her cabin and barged inside without knocking.
The sound of the intrusion angered Eshana. How dare someone enter her cabin without permission? But as she glanced up and saw the woman approaching with a smirk, spinning her chair and sitting cross-legged, Eshana rolled her eyes and shook her head.
It was Aavanya Chaturvedi, her best and only friend since childhood. Eshana loved her for her personality and fearless attitude—the most successful young lawyer in the country.
"What the hell, Anya? Can't you at least enter like a human being and not like a fucking storm?" Eshana said, trying to focus on her work.
"Oops, not sorry, babe. And look who's talking—the person who is a hurricane herself," Aavanya retorted.
Eshana ignored the comment and asked, "So, how was your trip? I assume you won the case again?"
"Of course, I never lose. Everything was fine, but I met an idiot there. A fucking arrogant bastard, full of himself. I really hate him. And I hated my luck—I had to see his face every day," Aavanya replied in an irritated tone.
Eshana looked at her friend, surprised. Aavanya usually ignored every guy, unaffected by them. Yet here she was, clearly affected by this one. Something significant must have happened, and it definitely wasn't just hate.
"I guess then someone is finally here to handle your crazy ass," Eshana said, smirking.
"Shana, stop it. I'm just relieved to be back and not have to see that idiotic jerk. So now, tell me about you. I heard that your grandfather passed away," Aavanya asked, changing the topic.
"Don't even ask. After his death, he's put me in a difficult situation. I just don't know what to do now," Eshana sighed, causing Aavanya to raise an eyebrow inquisitively.
Eshana proceeded to tell Aavanya everything, making her friend deep in thought.
"What are you thinking?" Eshana asked impatiently, knowing that only Anya could help her in this situation.
"Shana, can you show me the will of your grandfather?" Aavanya inquired.
"Yeah, I have it here. Wait," Eshana said as she fetched the keys and opened her drawer.
She handed the files to Aavanya. After examining them, Aavanya spoke up, "You have only two options: either marry for real or go for a contract marriage."
Eshana sighed in frustration. "I guess I have to go with the second option."
"Do you have anyone in mind?" Aavanya asked.
Eshana nodded and replied, "Armaan."
"Oh, that hot-ass mysterious secretary of yours?" Aavanya chuckled.
"Yeah, because I trust him more than any other man," Eshana replied firmly.
"Shana, he may be super hot and handsome, but think carefully before making any decision," Aavanya advised seriously.
"First of all, I've told you many times not to talk about him like that, and yes, I know what I'm doing. I've thought about it," Eshana said, her tone tinged with anger.
"Oh, I see someone's jealous," Aavanya teased, giving Eshana a mischievous smile.
"Shut up, and I'm serious," Eshana retorted firmly.
"Okay, Ms. Serious. So, tell me, why do you think he's perfect for this?" Aavanya asked, intrigued.
After a few moments of silence, Eshana replied thoughtfully, "I don't know much about him personally; he's always been mysterious to me. There isn't much in his bio either. But he's incredibly intelligent and excellent at his work. I've entrusted him with many important deals, and he's been my secretary for over a year and a half now without any issues. He's quiet, obedient, and excels in his role. He's the first person I've relied on as much as I have, and I didn't even have a secretary before him. I can't afford to lose such a brilliant employee. I think he'll be perfect for this contract too. I'll talk to him about it soon. He's the only one who can help me now. Besides, I don't want to admit it, but I'm attracted to him. When the opportunity arose, I couldn't resist the desire to have him as mine, something I never thought I'd feel for anyone. But I can't quite understand why I want him. This is the first time I've desired someone. I haven't dated since college, and even then, it was never serious. After that incident, I focused solely on my work. Anyway, now isn't the time to dwell on all this. None of these things are the most important right now; I need to focus on getting the property in my name."
"Okay then, I guess he's the one. You tell me the clauses, and I'll draft something for you to review. Once you're satisfied, I'll finalize the paperwork," Aavanya suggested to Eshana.
Eshana nodded, and the two friends began discussing the details of the contract.
