"I should go now." Ash said looking at his wristwatch for the hundredth time but still he didn't move.  Melanie pretended not to know the reason why he was reluctant to go and she pretended not see how he and kat had been eying each other. "Sure, but then this is the third time you're saying it and you haven't moved an inch which makes me want to ask...what's keeping you waiting?" She asked with one of her eyebrows raised.

"Ah, yeah I was..uhm yeah I should go now. It was nice seeing you again kat sorry Mel I mean yeah the both of you." He stuttered and then blushed when they looked at him weirdly. He sighed then stood up.

"I'm going now. Bye Mela." He smiled and pulled her in for a hug.

"Kat." He said and pulling her hand he placed a lingering kiss on it staring right into her soul he said. "I wish to go on a date with you someday." Dropping her hand he nodded and turned to go.

"Some day." Kat whispered. A trace of smile on her lips and Melanie could tell she was in another world already so she escorted Asher out.

"Her dude, what did ya do to my best friend?" She asked scowling at him. He cocked his head to a side and gave her a knowing smile. "Nothing." She rolled her eyes and prepared to enter the house when Asher called her back.

"Wait." He climbed up the two stairs and held her both hands in his. "Don't forget the plan. 6pm sharp meet me at the front of Loner's." He said. Looking deep into her eyes and hoping she doesn't change her mind. She sighed.
She wasn't sure if their plan was going to work but with a lot of persuading from both Kat and Asher she decided to give it a try. "I won't." He nodded.

"Bring Katrina along with you will you?" He asked sheepishly. She rolled her eyes at his demand and nodded.

"And wear something pretty, preferably grey, he loves the colour." She nodded again and he was off.

Walking back into the house she saw her friend staring at the hand Asher kissed and grumbled. She knew how Katrina can be when in love and it was really frustrating. The sound attracted Katrina who looked up as if in a daze. Melanie shook her head at her friend. "He said to bring you along." Kat squealed and rushed into the house, obviously to find something nice to wear even though they still had over 10 hours left.

"Fuck you moley, you've gotten my friend in love with your annoying ass." She grumbled and walked to her room ready to sleep her ass off..

"Omg, Mel wakey wakey we're almost late." Katrina jumped on her friend's back and started bouncing up and down while tickling her.

"Leave me alone kat". She groaned and managed to push her off but only for a while as kat jumped right back on her.
" I swear if you don't get the fuck off me I'll cut off your breasts and shove it down your throat." Mel threatened to which kat just giggled.

"I'd like to see you try, come on sleepyhead we have a lot to do and we're almost late." She said screaming the last part. After lots of pleadings, threats and shoving, Kat managed to get Mel into the bathroom where she could still hear some profanities being thrown at her.

She rolled her eyes at her friend's childish behaviour and ran to Melanie's room. The girl surely had lots of clothes most of which she had never worn before. She entered into the closet and started throwing clothes after clothes out soon. She found a green strapless gown that reached just above her knees and threw it on her shoulder.

"Grey, we need something grey." She muttered to herself. She rummaged through the closet again almost spilling all the clothes on the floor but still didn't find any.

"God, what is she going to wear now! Of all colours not to have it had to be grey." She was about to shut the door of the closet when something sparkly caught her eyes.

"Wow! What the hell! How come I didn't see it?"

"Didn't see what?" Melanie asked as she emerged from bathroom with a towel wrapped around her. She looked up at Katrina with a sleepy eye and yawned.

"This my dear, this. Look".

Melanie collected the dress from her and her eyes widened. "Where did you get this from?" She asked still wide eyed.

"From your closet of course, silly."

"B-but how did it...'

'No buts now, all you have to do is throw on this dress and let me do my magic on you. All at once, Melanie's towel was knocked off as Kat tried to dress her herself. "hey, I can dress myself up okay?'

"Alright alright I'll leave you to it." She said as she opened the door and ran out,taking the green dress with her.

"Annoying bitch." Melanie scowled and stared back at the dress.

It was beautiful.

She couldn't remember buying anything like it but shrugged and blamed it on her unreliable memory.

She put it on and admired herself in the mirror. The dress fit perfectly and brought out her whole curves. The crystals in it at every movement she made and she was satisfied.

"Wow! I swear if I wasn't a girl and straight I'd hit on you." Kat swore. Melanie turned to see her friend in the same green dress she took away. Her more prominent curves were eye-catching and even though Melanie knew she couldn't hold a candle to Kat's shape she felt confident in hers which was a first but she felt it had something to do with the dress.

"You look amazing, cat." She said honestly and was rewarded with a shy smile. "Thanks, but do you think Asher would feel that way?" She asked nervously.

"Of course, moley would definitely drool once he sees you."

"Moley?"

"Long story."

"Oh, alright."

They stood together staring at each other In the mirror and avoiding each other's gaze. They both bursted out laughing at the same time.

"I swear, those fuckers be making us act like some fucking teens." Melanie complained bitterly.

"And the problem is that we like it
" kat added.

"Yeah, we do." Mel agreed. They held each other's hands and walked to the front door and let go of each other's hand.

Melanie drove the car up to the club's garage and turned off the ignition. She looked at her friend at the passenger's seat who was wringing her hands together which she does anytime she's nervous.

"You know, I should be the nervous one. After all I'm the one trying to make a man fall for me not you. You already have Asher wrapped around your fingers so I wonder why you're still nervous."

"Mel, I'm not like you?"

"What do you mean."

Kat turned in her seat to face her friend.

"Look Mel, you're confident, bold and you normally don't fall in love. In fact you've never, all you've done your whole life is play boys and dump them so you won't understand when I tell you that love doesn't work that way. Even after one whole year of dating it's normal to feel nervous around the person occasionally, not all the time but there'll be sometimes when you don't know when to expect from your partner and you're nervous."

"You're right, I guess."

"Are you nervous?" Kat asked Mel.

"Hell yeah."

"Then you love him." Kat said and after smiling at her friend she got out of the car and banged the door shut.
