VI
Lucifer's POV:
A presence I couldn't fathom.
And when I sensed this aura of death, my body forbid itself to move.
" Who are you?" The voice echoed, sounding familiar. Extremely.
I stood silent, confused why the corridor was flooded with darkness and as to why I became a frozen Popsicle.
And as soon as I got out of the glitch in my body, the voice repeated the same question. Just this time, the voice was more like deep static, filled with malice and anger.
" WHO ARE YOU, ANGEL?"
I ignored the voice and tried to focus on what I was in until I heard the word ' Angel'.
I flinched and as soon as that happened, a palm shot out of the veil of darkness, snatching and clipping itself against my neck and slamming me against the wall which was in front of me a moment ago, bashing me inside the wall and immediately dislocating a lot of bones in my back.
And once the silhouette came closer and let out something that travelled resembled a low gasp.
" WHAT. ARE. YOU!?" The voice was now visibly angry as the structure of the wall surrounding me started to crack under the pressure he was choking me with, finally revealing himself as I grabbed for desperate air.
But it all went on hold when I saw...me.
He had the same exact features as me, the same messed up hair. The only two things that were dissecting us two were he had a soulless eye and wings as dark as obsidian if you don't count his broader shoulders and his silver hair as opposed to my white.
" ANSWER ME!!" The guy in front increased his grip on my neck as he spun me around and so did he, a moment on air as the next thing I felt apart from the hellish pain on my next was on my torso, sending pangs of pain up my mind.
I yelled in agony as he simply pushed his feet deeper as I heard my bones crack and my heart beat more, sending adrenaline up my blood stream.
My limp body crashed through the walls of the Madison family and when I got past the room of the girl who was supposed to be protected by me, my leg which was suppose to almost decapitate her neck passed through, as if it were nothing more than mere mist.
And before the explosion of smoke affected my thought process, the crisis of me flying out the window, shards of glass impaling my face and the couple hundred feet fall I was to endure came first as priority.
But I couldn't scream for help or activate my wings.
Even though it had already been a week since I was impounded of them.
And when I forcibly turned by body around, the body who had been thrashing me around looked at me.
His dead eyes looking at me as if he was disappointed even in the very fact I was alive.
And that hurt more than what I felt when my body hit the asphalt, barely missing a nearby bus.
I couldn't breathe as I was sure every single one of my inner workings would be in ruin and failure leaving me to die a slow death.
But he wasn't done.
And just as he broke me, he stepped off the window and pencil dived down.
And landed right on my chest as I felt my body reach a point of no return.
I was sure my body had a huge gaping hole and once he stepped off, I would die.
Since reality is contrary to that, he looked at me, right as he had a sigh of dissatisfaction.
" I'm sorry. I shouldn't have been too hard, huh?"
" Hard...? F*ckward you RIPPED OPEN MY CHEST AND YOU'RE KILLING ME!"
The jacked version of me kneeled down beside me as he placed his hand on my wrist and pulled me up, the pain in me slowly dissipating somehow even if I had myself flattened and then cut in two.
He flinched, looking once again at me like he was disgusted by me as he reassured me," This world is not real, just your imagination, clone."
All I could do in that case was grunt incomprehensible sounds as he balled his fists putting his thumb within his palms, opened them again and repeated the process.
And things shut off like a switch being in a short-circuit.
" -nda w-" The girl's voice linked in and got cut off as quick as it chimed in.
And I felt the presence again.
This time, I knew what was happening.
" Just how is he doing this?" I scanned every inch of my memories for a hint at how this doppelganger of mine manipulated the very concept of time and space.
Because I knew what he said was true.
It must have been my imagination because none of the nerves in my body seemed to remember the pain that it went through mere minutes ago.
And this time, I took a more hands in approach.
" WHOEVER YOU ARE, I MEAN NO HARM! EVEN THOUGH YOU DO, LET US TALK THIS OUT!" I yelled at the opened door.
There was a chilling laughter. Much like a frenzied hyena but it was also inviting.
Somehow, it felt like it was meant for someone other than me.
" That's fine, clone! Come out where I can see you! I'm not aggravated this time around." And he peeked around the corner of the door.
I repeat, he f*cking peeked out the corner of the door with a smile after what he, the obvious f*ckward did to me!
" Not aggressive my *ss."
I nodded, my breathing stabilising as he sighed again, supposedly believing his own words.
" What's your name then, clone?" He calmed down from his previous rampage .
I opened the door as he entered the living room, as he shot a look at Rebecca and then at the half closed door to her room.
But with a childish smirk, he leaned and fell on the sofa, putting a leg upon another, his arms, one each to his sides.
I looked at him, seeing his soulless eyes stare rather confidently at mine, sending a series of warnings up my brain the moment I saw them.
" Lu-Luh-Lucifer" The dark being whipped his head at the angle where my face was with a blank expression by the time he sat comfortably, accompanied by a squeal of panic, quickly by stuttering a certain word.
Sorry.
Apology.
" Suh-suh-suh-sssuh-SORRY, FUH-FATHER!! I-I-uh-I didn't know it wah-was you!!"
And I repeated the same favour to him, of course.
" Fffffuh-ffffff-fffah- father!?"
And he frowned, as he stopped the stutter and shiver as his face took on a more complicated expression.
As if not knowing what I was.
Well for starters, I'm definitely not his clone.
" I'm just the Madison girls guardian!" I replied yelling back, not catching what he had said because the only thoughts were to protect the girl and to prove I wasn't his illegitimate father or vice versa.
And he laughed. Again.
That sinister chuckle that made my teeth clench.
The voice of which undermined my entire existence, as if it were the gravel upon which empires rise.
And that this time, it would be the same as if it were the course of fate.
I would be trampled upon to create the future. Or that I would shoulder the same.
The man before me shifted his body and looked at me again, his expression changing to one of death.
" Let's see who wins the war then." The face of the one before me turned stern as the look was of pure determination.
He raised a fist, and then clenched it, sending a whirlwind of caution in me flying.
And as he tapped my shoulder with that same clenched fist, the world began to crack.
The pieces of the glass that now formulated this world fell apart showed me the room where it started to form.
" Don't let her die then, clone!" One last, aggravating roar of laughter.
It seemed purely of challenge.
And when every single piece fell over, there I was ,back in the position I was.
As if this was all just a vain dream.
" -ant my name in it too. After all I was the one who bestowed your name upon you, wasn't I?" She giggled with a proud smile, as I gasped and caught the air, unable to resume my breathing.
I panicked from the sudden change from monotonous colors back to a more vibrant palette causing me to fall off the bed again and started catching any of the oxygen in the air I could get my hands on as I started to choke again, startling the poor girl on the bed.
At least until she yanked me by the collar and started to shake me, all while yelling," I should have stopped you! Stop! STUFFING! COOKIES!!"
And that's how I was knocked out and nearly strangled to death by the same girl who I nearly died for...twice?
She IS a mean person, I guess...at times...
Boy I'm in for a hell of a ride. Literally.
