3: Oleander

"The MEANING of Oleander is you better watch out as it is a toxic plant especially towards animals, it is used for someone you dislike or plan on getting revenge on."

---

TULIPS SUMMERS sat in one of the three main "Flowers Delight" shops - that she owned, her brother and sister owning the other two. She sat patiently in her swivel chair - awaiting her next available customer. Suddenly the bell above the door rang - "Welcome to Flowers Delight, how can I help you?"

A tall - rugish - looking teen stormed up to her, his hair a black mess and his clothes tight fitting. He slapped a handful of crushed up money on the counter infront of her. "How do I passive-aggressively say "fuck you bitch" in a flower?"

Tulips expression stayed in its smile as she hopped off the swivel chair, the strangers eyes stayed trained on her, eyebrows arched as she walked around the counter to him.

"Well, we don't have that in an exact flower - unless I go around the back to get some of the withered flowers - although I don't have any right now but..." she trailed off, walking around the shop, the teen following. He took in the sight of old flower seed packets that had been plastered to the wall along with over hanging pots filled with beautiful flowers. She picked up a herb like flower. "Basil - actually means 'I hate you' the Greeks came up with this as it was believed it was a symbol of hatred - but perhaps not because it was linked back to the -uh- devil." She fidgeted, placing the flower back. The man watched her in interest, not even knowing someone would bother to remember what flowers mean other than they're flowers. She picked up a beautiful pink flower, the teen went to protest because it was so beautiful but then she started talking. "Peony means that 'I'm angry at you' - the reason for this is because these are a butt to grow, because if they don't like being moved - repotted - and if you do do it they won't flower for like - seven years." She laughed, twirling the flower in her hands. "But this - my personal favorite - the Oleander, means 'You better watch out' - but you - uh - need to watch out because if you consume them it's quite fatal." She gnawed her lip, the teen raising his eyebrow at her.

"Are you allowed to sell it?" He asked in disbelief.

"Yes - as long as we give you the whole disclaimer. Because if someone were to eat it - it's either their fault or the person who bought it." Tulip replied, giggling slightly. "My names Tulip." She pointed to the badge with her name on it that was attached to her teel coloured uniform, a white apron covered in a floral design. "My mum was thinking of the maroon-black tulip when she named me, which means 'my tower of strength'." Her eyes unconsciously went up, where she knew her mother stared on.

"Uh - my names Begonia." Her head snapped to him and a smile bloomed on her face, like a flower.

"I love Begonias." She pulled the wavy collar of her dress, which had a few flower pins, one of them was a begonia. "They're like my favorite flower ever, that is so cool that that's your name." Begonia was taken aback, no one had actually liked his name. Most the time people and his friends made fun of it - but this girl was staring starry-eyed at the mere mention of the flower.

"The flower buisness must be difficult." He cleared his throat. "Is it a part time job or?"

"Actually it's a family thing." Tulip shrugged. "Sorry! We're off topic." She giggled.

"I like the Oleander." Begonia shifted on his feet, wanting this transaction to end and leave.

"Sweet, do you want it in yellow, coral, white, pink - " she started to list them off.

"Shit just give me the flower." He rolled his eyes, annoyed when all she did was giggle.

"Floriology is actually really cool." Tulip laughed, picking up the coral coloured Oleander.
