Chapter 2

Juvia smiled at the ceiling as she layed in bed, "it's been a great 2 weeks, don't you think?"
A man rolled his eyes and said, "I'm surprised you did all that and you can keep a smile on your face when you know your dying."
"How can I not? My friends, my family, are amazing and I don't want my last moments with them to be sad." Juvia responded with.
"And by the end of this week, you'll be dead and they will either care, or won't," the man said in a gruff voice.
Juvia sighed, "they'll care. Just because you didn't when she died didn't mean they won't when I die."

Juvia slowly walked down the stairs, gripping tight to the railing.
"Juvia," Gray said, walking up to her. "Are you okay? You look worse."
Juvia weekly smiled and said, "I'm fine, Gray. Just, a little tired I guess. I couldn't sleep last night."
Gray helped her walk down the stairs and sat her onto a stool at the bar.
"Hey Juvia," Mira gave a small smile, "what would you like?"
"Just a water," Juvia said making both Mira and Gray Frown.
"You haven't been eating a lot lately," Gray said as Mira fetched a cup. "You should eat."
Juvia looked at him and said, "I guess I lost my appetite, but nothing I can do about it."
Gray sighed and asked, "what kept you up at night."
"A friend did." Juvia responded with. "The old man sure is talkative."
"Wait," Gray said. "Who? Shouldn't everyone know not to keep you up?"
Before Juvia responded, Mira sat down a glass of water in front of her and a bowl of soup, "eat. It's unhealthy too starve yourself like this."
Juvia was about to protest when she saw a glare coming from Mira, causing her to nod her head and begin eating.
"How are you feeling today, Ameonna," Gajeel asked, walking up to the two.
Juvia gave a slight frown and said, "oddly better."
"Isn't that good?" Levy asked, tilting her head. She had followed Gajeel over, with Lily in her hands.
Juvia shrugged and said, "it's hard to tell. I've never been through something like this before."

"So you plan on spending everyday as busy as possible, hoping it'll distract them from you dying?" Then man asked.
Juvia shrugged as she sat up, "it's been working for the first two weeks and I've only got 4 days left."
"Why didn't you try to get that Gray kid to confess too you?"
Juvia laughed and said, "if I couldn't get him to confess before, he'd never confess now."
The man shook his head and said, "and I'm assuming he doesn't know about the whole 'confess and you'll be better' ordeal?"
"If he did, he's force himself to confess and it can only break if it's a real confession, not a forced one," Juvia told the man.
"So what are you gonna do on the last day?"
"The day before, I' gonna go to mothers grave and fall asleep there. That way I'll die where mother, Rose and Eva were buried." Juvia responded. "In the flower garden next to the lake."

"So Juvia," Wendy said to the blue headed mage. "What we're your sisters like?"
Juvia smiled as she sat at a table with Wendy, Lucy, Levy, Erza, Mira, Natsu, Gajeel and Gray.
"Well, Rose died when she was one, so I couldn't tell you for sure, but I'm pretty sure she would've grown up to be very smart, independent, cold but secretly cares, and can be really sassy. Eva was an interesting one. She was actually really smart and beautiful but whenever someone told her that, she'd say they were only saying that to be nice. She loved the idea of being in love and wished to have a family. She wished to be famous for her voice, as she sung like an angel. She was kind and caring, and she always kept a smile on her face because she truly loved everyone. Everybody aspired to be her, in fact I did too."
"What did she look like?" Mira questioned.
"She had beautiful blue eyes, like our mother, and long blonde hair like our father. She wasn't very tall, a little shorter then Levy, and had a porcelain face." Juvia responded with, a smile on her face.
"She sounds beautiful," Erza complimented.
"I wish you could tell her that," Juvia said, her smiled turning sad.

"So you told them about you sisters," He had said to her.
Juvia nodded her head and said, "of course I did. Wendy asked and she's to cute for me to tell her I didn't want to talk about them."
"Next thing you know, they're gonna ask about your mother."
"Then I shall answer," she told him.
"And what if they ask about me?" He questioned, raising his eyebrows.
"Don't worry about it, I know what I'm going to do," she told him, waving him off.
"3 days left, Juvia. 3 days until the day of your 19th birthday," he told her. "You know, I could fix it. Juvia you know I love you, I can make sure you live till your old and grey."
Juvia smiled and said, "but then my children would get cursed. And of they don't, my grandchildren will. I cannot let that happen."
"But now your not gonna have children," he told her.
She shrugged and said, "I'd rather have no children then make them suffer for mothers doing."
He sighed and said, "what'd I do to deserve you?"

"So Juvia," Mira said as Juvia ran to the request board, wanting to do one last mission. "Feeling better?"
Juvia nodded and said, "1000 times better."
"Maybe you'll actually get some sleep tonight then," Gray said, joining in on the conversation.
Juvia smiled sheepishly and said, "haha maybe."
"So Juvia," Levy said, going to the girl. "Tell me about your parents. Specifically you dad. There's a lot of things in the books about your mother, but nothing about your father."
Juvia bit the inside of her cheek and said, "well my mother was an amazing, kind, sweet, and caring person. She was loving and always had the brightest smile on her face. She was very intelligent. But aside from all that, she had quite the sassy side."
"And your father?" Gray asked.
Juvia puffed her cheeks and said, "I'm not supposed to talk about him."
"Can you at least give me his name?" Levy asked.
"I'll tell you what," Juvia said. "Technically I'm not supposed to do this, but I'll do it for you Levy. I'll give you his initials. P.L."
With that, Juvia took Gajeel and a mission, and she left for it.

"I knew they were gonna ask," the old man said.
Juvia giggled and said, "they're curious souls, of course they are."
"You know, Juvia. This might be the last time we talk to each other. Unless I find a way into the afterlife."
"I hope uncle lets you." The young women said. "You know, my only regret in this life was not knowing you for as long as I wish I had."
He smiled and said, "me too, but i was forced to leave and am barely allowed to talk to you now."
Juvia nodded and said, "I love you father."
Her father walked over to her, kissed her forehead and said, "I love you too, Juvia."

"Juvia," Gray called out as Juvia opened the guild doors, already finished saying goodbye to everyone.
"Where are you going?"
Juvia smiled sadly at the man, not wanting to leave but also knowing where she wanted her final resting place to be. "I... I want to die where my mother and sisters were buried, so I'll be right next to them. And it takes 12 hours to get there so I decided to leave now."
There was a pained expression on Gray's face and he said to her, "I'm going with you."
Juvia shook her head and said in a saddened voice, "I couldn't allow that. If I... if I'm going to die tonight, then I couldn't bare letting you watch me die like that."
Her voice caught in her throat and she turned around to walk out of the guild, wanting to act strong for them.
Gray hugged her from behind and whispered, "please. I want to be there with you till the very end."
Juvia sniffled. She grabbed onto his hand for comfort and decided to bring him with her.
She nodded her head and dragged him to the train station, holding his hand the whole time, afraid of letting go.
He did nothing to stop it, afraid that if he let go, she'd be gone. This time, forever.
Neither of the two wanted that. They wanted to stay by each other's side for the rest of their lives. And for Juvia, looks like she got her wish. As for Gray, he knew he'd never love anyone like he loved her again.

They made it to the town as the sun was starting to set, making the town that much more beautiful.
Juvia's eyes sparkled and she looked around at the knew beauty.
"Have you not seen it like this before?" Gray asked as he watched Juvia, amused.
Juvia shook her head and said in a soft voice, "when I lived here, the rain followed me everywhere, so I never saw it in daylight."
That made Gray slightly frown at the thought of the beautiful happy mage always so sad and never seeing what she looks forward to everyday. Every time it rained, she normally stayed home that day, Mira and Erza said she sat in her room, in fear of it happening again.
Gray swore to himself he'd never make her sad again, and everyday she'd wake up to the sun, and so far he managed. The thought of Juvia leaving him so soon was hard to process, and he probably wouldn't fully process it until she was officially gone.
"Look who's back boys," a man said, walking towards the two. "It's the rain women. You know, the reason we had no fun."
Two other men were behind the guy and Juvia looked down, ashamed.
"Who are these guys?" Gray asked Juvia.
"We went to the same school together. The whole class always picked on me, but these three did the worse."
"Why don't you just get lost?" One of the three said.
"Yeah, nobody wants you here!" The third one added.
"Hey!" Gray yelled. "Why don't you three scram so we can enjoy the rest of the day together."
The leader of the group seethed and said, "and who do you think you are?"
"Gray Fullbuster, a Fairy Tail wizard and very capable of beating your ass." Gray lifted his shirt, showing them his insignia, making the the three run away in fear.
Juvia shook her head and said, "the towns people were brutal." She looked up at Gray and said, "let's go."
She grabbed onto his hand again, and continued walking towards the three people she knows and loves graves.

"And here we are," Juvia said as the stars began to shine. "This is my moms, this is Rose's and this is Eva's."
Juvia slowly started to cry and hugged Gray, "I don't want to leave Gray! I want to stay here with everybody else! With you! Why do I have to leave! It's not fair!"
Gray started crying too and said, "I really wish there was another way Juvia. I kept looking and looking and didn't stop, but I came up empty. I'm sorry. So sorry."
They began to cry together, holding onto each other as of their lives depended on it. To Juvia, it did feel like her life depended on it. She didn't want to let go, but she had no choice. They held onto each other like that until Juvia finally fell asleep.

The sun started rising and Gray woke up to see a still Juvia.
He began crying harder then before until her body started glowing.
"J...Juvia?" He questioned, wiping his tears away.
Juvia's body started lifting, ascending to the heavens. But as her body did that, her spirit stayed.
Her spirit smiled at Gray and said, "I'll see you on the other side. I love you, my darling."
Gray started sobbing, tear after tear falling from his eyes as he struggled to say, "I love you too Juvia."
And as soon as it was there, both her spirit and her body were gone.

Gray stumbled inside the guild hall, not saying a word, sadness yelling in his eyes.
When he walked in, everybody went quiet, sadness written on their faces.
"Let's... let's get to work," Gray said, knowing he'd never smile again.
