Chapter 8~Behind her smile, she's falling apart
Pari POV
"I had no idea," I was shocked. Shraddha, one of my closest friends had such a sad past. She never deserved to suffer.
"But why did Varun's and Shraddha's friendship break?" Alia wondered. She would have never expected, the girl who made everyone smile and laugh, in the inside, she was falling apart.
"That comes in the next part," Kriti said quietly. "A lot happened and some of it is difficult to talk about."
"Kriti, you are a true friend," I said, tears started to fall from my eyes. "All this time, I thought you were avoiding me but you weren't. You were as hurt as Shraddha was. Seeing someone in pain."
Kriti held my hand and gave it a squeeze. "Pari, I am sorry too. I was a bit harsh. Disha told me everyday to go to tell you about Shraddha."
"Why didn't you?" Alia wondered.
"I was stubborn. I wanted Varun to come and ask about Shraddha." Kriti sighed. "I regret it now."
Flashback: August 2018
Shraddha POV
They say it hurts the most when your heart breaks. But you are the only one who can feel the pain. It hurts to know when you love someone but in reality you are not meant to be. This was exactly was case. Varun and Pari are perfect for each other. They found their happiness in each other.
They are made for each other. They look at each with happiness and butterflies. They look at each other with immense love displayed in their eyes. It's only the start of their fairytale full of love and happiness.
It hurts to know that you aren't as important to someone as you thought you were.
I forced a smile as he winked at me.
It's just easier to smile rather than explaining why you are sad.
Kriti POV
She does it again. We are at Pari's place. Varun and Pari are completely into each other. Alia, Arjun and Sid are arguing about something. Shraddha is deep in her thoughts and I am glaring at Varun behind his back.
I want my old Shraddha back. The girl who always bought a smile on to my face. The cute, chirpy angel I knew. Not a broken soul. She needs him the most. She needs to be healed, healed by love, which would never happen. She knows, I know, that Varun and Shraddha are not meant for each other.
Can no one see the depression in her eyes? He hurt her once again without realising. He never knew that even the smallest actions hurt her. He was blind, blind to see the love in her eyes, but he could see the love in Pari's eyes.
Shraddha POV
I went up to the terrace. I wanted to be alone. If Varun is happy, why can't she be happy? Why is it her who always has to suffer from heartbreak? I struggled to stop back tears this time.
I let the tears fall. I felt weak. It hurts. It's fine though. I am used it to it.
"Shraddha," a voice called from behind.
I knew it was Kriti. What did I do to get such a beautiful person in my life?
"Kriti," I smiled weakly. "I'm fine."
"Stop hurting yourself more Shraddha," Kriti whispered. "You shouldn't be going through heartbreak. Please stop fake smiling. You are a fabulous actress, but this isn't going to work with me. Those smiles of yours hide your pain."
Author POV
Shraddha tried to choke back her tears but the pain came from her throat. The tears burst, streaming down her face, just like water from a dam. The strong walls that held her tight collapsed. The flood coming from her eyes seemed to go on like a rainful which never seemed to stop.
Kriti hated the fact that her friend suffered when she never should have. Her silence was one of them. She keeps her pain silent. Kriti wanted Shraddha to have the happiness she always deserved. Kriti hugged her friend tightly. Her tears hit her like bullets. She wanted to help her but right now she could not change anything. Life is never fair.
"What's happening here?" Arjun came to the terrace.
Shraddha quickly wiped her tears and glanced at Arjun.
"Have you been crying Shradz?" Arjun came near us.
"Heartbreak?" Arjun sighed and looked down.
"How did you know?" Shraddha started, she was shocked. Kriti stayed quiet.
"Because both of you love the people that you are not meant with," Kriti said softly.
"You're in love with Pari?" Shraddha said.
"Yes but not the way you have been with Varun. I've noticed it a couple of years back." Arjun said slowly.
"I am glad that someone noticed. Sometimes I feel that everyone is blind." Kriti shook her head in disbelief. "People forget that sometimes their eyes say a lot more than their words."

Author POV
With Kriti, Disha and Tiger busy with their film schedules, Shraddha spent more time with Alia and the others. She watched Varun and Pari spending their time together happily.
Natasha was also hanging out with Varun. She was clinging on to Varun much to Pari's and Alia's annoyance.
"What's wrong with her? And why is Varun so close to her." Pari complained.
"Pari, Varun dosen't want to hurt Natsy's feelings." Shraddha tried to calm Pari.
"Shradz is right," Alia said.
"Well he can tell her to go away," Pari exclaimed.
Alia and Shraddha shared a look. They knew the couple were going to be having some trouble.
"Fine," Pari said angrily. "This is so not fair."
Varun finally managed to talk with the girls and more importantly, his girlfriend.
"Pari..." Varun started.
"Stop it Varun," Pari cut him off. "You told me to come here because you wanted to spend time with me and why is she clinging on to you."
"She's just a friend," Varun tried. "Just from a long time. I don't want to be rude."
"Does she know about us two?" Pari questioned and Varun nodded. "If she does than, why is she so close to you?"
"Alia, Chirkut," Varun looked at his friends, hoping they would help him.
"Sorry Varun," Alia said. "She's doing it intentionally. Well, it looks like that and you need to tell her that you aren't interested in her the way she is in you."
"But," Varun protested.
"Alia is right," Pari agreed.
Shraddha walked to Natasha. She couldn't help it. She was going to help Varun so that nothing hurts him. He was her weakness.
"Shraddha," Pari called out. "Where are you going?"
Shraddha ignored Pari.
"Natasha," Shraddha gave a tight smile.
"Hey Shraddha," she gave a small smile.
"Look, I know you like Varun but you have to accept that he has moved on. He is madly in love with Pari and both of them don't like your closeness with Varun. Please try to understand this. You and I have known Varun for a long time. He's found his match." Shraddha said, sofly.
"I didn't want a fight to occur," Natasha sighed. "You are right Shraddha. Don't worry, I will apologise."
Shraddha and Natasha walked to where Pari, Varun and Alia were standing.
"Parineeti, I am sorry," Natasha smiled apologetically. "Don't blame Varun. He was being nice, that's all."
Pari still looked unconvinced while Varun mouthed a 'Thank you' to his Chirkut.
"Come on now Pari," Alia encouraged her best friend.
"Pari," Shraddha forced a smile which broke her heart. "You and Varun are made for each other. Don't let these silly things get in between you. Be strong."
Shraddha held Varun's hand in one arm and Pari's arm in her other one. Then, she joined their hands together.
"Shraddha's right," Alia agreed. "Come on both of you."
Varun and Pari embraced.
"Pappu is sorry," Varun held his ears.
"It's fine Baby," Pari smiled.
"I have to go," Shraddha said and hugged everyone goodbye.
"Shraddha," Alia came running towards her. "I just wanted to say thank you again. I never want Pari to get hurt. You are the sweetest girl ever."
"Thanks Alia," Shraddha smiled. "I hate to see my friends in pain. I rather face the pain myself then let anyone else go through it."
"You don't deserve to go through any pain Shradz," Alia smiled and hugged her friend.
But she already was suffering. Everyone sees her as a girl who is full of smiles and happiness but never notices that she is falling apart from the inside because she lost what ever wanted. Behind her smile, there is a hurting heart. Behind her laugh, she has fallen apart.

Shraddha POV
I sat on the couch.
'Please be involved in getting them together.'
Kriti's voice echoed in her head.
I am sorry Kriti, but I want Varun to be happy. He deserves to be happy.
I felt the lump in my throat. I heard the knock on my door. I opened it.
"Natasha," I muttered.
"Shraddha," she smirked. "We need to talk."
And the chapter ends in a cliffhanger😆
Your views on the Chapter😅
Note-Natasha will play a negative character and I really don't want to offend anyone about it.
Shraddha helped Varun and Pari with their relationship but she ended up hurting herself more. Do you think she did the right thing?
Arjun also loves Pari but he's happy for her😔
What does Natasha want with Shraddha?
I know I haven't updated this book for a while and I am sorry. I will update it in the coming weeks, I promise. Meant to Be, sequel to You are Mine is out now. Please do check it out.
We might see Varshra again for ABCD 3. I want them to do a romantic movie together but I am really desperate now so even a dance movie would do. My fingers are crossed❤
Ps. Sara looks so pretty in this song...she's definitely going to rock bollywood.
