Chapter 17~Home
Author POV
"I'll come to Mumbai with you," Shraddha said quietly and closed the door.
Varun had always remained her weakness. She wanted him to live a happy life because she loved him and he never understood that. Even if it meant that he didn't need her anymore in his life, she kept her distance. All these years, she had a chance to hurt him, but she knew she never could. Even though she was finally over him, deep down she still cared about him. She wondered if she was making the right choice to go back to Mumbai. She knew this only time would reveal.
Varun quickly put the moustache and other things on and walked away with a satisfied look on his face. After throwing Shraddha out of his life, he realised her worth. He wanted his Chirkut back in his life and he was going to do that but he wasn't sure how. He remembered her sobbing furiously after her family's car accident. He regretted not going over to her and being there for her by consoling her and giving her a hug. That was all she expected from him as her best friend but I failed to do so. Shraddha fell in love with him, the guy who was her best friend, who loved another women and now, he is married and has a daughter. She loved him enough to let him go. She had already accepted her destiny and all he did was misunderstand her actions and threw her out if her life just because Natasha whom he planned to have a long chat with as soon he returned to Mumbai.

"Any news from Varun?" Kriti asked anxiously as she helped Pari take a seat.
"Kriti, I told him to bring Shraddha home," Pari said quietly. "I don't care how. He has to do it and I am glad he finally came to his senses and went willingly. I didn't force him to do this. If he wouldn't have done this, well then we would forced him. But that isn't Varun. You and I both know that."
"He isn't like that all," Kriti admitted. "He was one of my best friends but I guess everyone makes mistakes and no one is perfect. I wish I handled this situation like Disha did. She advised me to keep it cool and be gentle but no, I couldn't keep my cool and I took out all my anger on you."
"Kriti, how many times do I have to tell you," Pari sighed. "It's fine. We should have come earlier. I know Varun kept avoiding it and made us avoid it as well but we should have taken more action. Shraddha...I can't imagine what she went through...Sometimes I can't believe all this occured behind our back. Someone like Maya existed in your, Tiger's, Shraddha's, Varun's...It seems like a plot from a movie honestly. "
"Yeah It's been ten years since Maya's death..." Kriti spoke in quiet voice as memories of Maya flashed in front of her.
"She seemed like a wonderful person," Pari said sympathetically, noticing Kriti had stopping talking.
"She was amazing," Kriti said tearfully. "You know, she and Disha are very alike. Both are so wise and understanding. When Disha entered Tiger's life, Shraddha and I were so glad and happy. Tiger believed that he would never fall in love again but he did. No one can replace Maya but we needed Disha to be with us, to help us to heal from the past."
"I hope Varun returns soon," Pari hugged her friend tightly.
"Me too," Kriti said as the tears trailed down her face. She wiped her face.
"Have you found out the gender of this little one," Pari asked, pointing toward Kriti's belly.
"No, Sushant and I want to keep that a surprise," Kriti said as a small smile begin to form on her lips. "Have you made a decision yet about the tumor..."
"Yes, I will announce when Varun returns with Shraddha," Pari said slowly.
************
The next day, Varun knocked on Shraddha's door. The door opened and Shraddha walked out, wearing a disguise, dragging large suitcase.
"We will reach in the evening," Varun said, attempting to start a conversation but Shraddha stayed quiet and nodded slightly. She placed her luggage in boot of the car and took a seat in the back seat while he took one in the front. He has already texted Pari that he would be coming home at the evening today. The driver started to drive the car. He glanced at Shraddha through the rear mirror several times. She avoided meeting his eyes and stared through the window. She couldn't believe that she was going to Mumbai with Varun. This was not something she had planned on doing when she left Mumbai so that she could go to Lonavla and start a new life. The car stopped and the driver left to eat."
"Are you hungry?" Varun made another attempt to talk to her.
"No," she responded and looked away.
"Shraddha, I'm sorry," Varun didn't know what to do and he was hating how distant they both were. The silence was killing him.
"Varun, I need more time," she said quietly and looked away once more.
He sighed and stared at the window. He hoped this journey would end soon.
************
"Shraddha," Varun shook her slightly as her eyes fluttered open. "We have reached."
He took out her suitcase and his baggage, paid the driver as Shraddha stared at his house and started pacing forward. Varun walked forward, dragging Shraddha's bag along so that she wouldn't insist on taking it. Using his house keys, he quickly unlocked the door and entered. Shraddha slowly followed him.
"Papa!"Annie shouted in excitement as she rushed to her father and wrapped her arms around her father. A smile formed in his lips as he scooped his little girl in her arms.
"I missed you Princess," he said, holding his daughter tightly.
"Who's that!" Annie said, noticing Shraddha standing and staring at them.
"Shraddha, this is Annie.
Annie, that is Shraddha Massi, your mother's and my best friend," he said as Shraddha smiled faintly.
"Hello Annie," Shraddha couldn't help but smile at the adorable girl.
"Hi Shraddha Massi," she said cutely. "Everyone's in the living room. Guess what, I became friends with Tanya."
"Disha Massi's daughter," Varun asked and she nodded. Varun, holding his daughter in his arms walked to the living room.
"How much longer?" Kriti complained. She was finding it annoying to wait any longer for Varun and Shraddha.
"Varun!" Alia exclaimed she noticed a figure walking towards them. Pari rushed to him and hugged him. Kriti's eyes stayed fixed towards the corridor. Shraddha stepped into the room. It was her after three whole years, Kriti's eyes slowly filled with tears. Before she knew it, she was hugging Shraddha tightly. Disha smiled at seeing her two best friends.
"Never leave again," Kriti said tearfully.
"I promise I won't," Shraddha whispered as tears traced down her cheek. She wondered how she lived without her friends for these three years. They were always there for her. Tiger and Disha both enveloped her into a tight hug.
"It's good to have you back," Tiger said softly making Shraddha smile.
"I missed you so much," Disha said and stepped aside so that Pari, Sidharth and Alia could greet her.
"Pari, Alia, Sid," Shraddha said and hugged each of them.
"How could I have been so blind," Alia said angrily. "You went through so much pain and I didn't even notice that. I'm sorry Shraddha."
"No, don't be," Shraddha said firmly. "Pari, I'm so sorry about your tumor. I..."
"We'll discuss that later," Pari said slowly. "Now, that you are back, we have a lot to catch up on."
"I met your daughter, Annie," Shraddha said, starting a conversation. "She looks so much like you."
"She is daddy's girl," Pari admitted, giving a look to Varun. "But yes, she looks like me."
"Sameer, Kabir, Tanya," Sidharth called out. The three children came rushing down and stood next to each other.
"Sam, Kabir, Tanu," Alia smiled at the three children. "Meet Shraddha Massi."
"Hello," Shraddha said sweetly.
"Hi Shraddha Massi," Sam and Kabir said in unison while Tanya ran behind Tiger.
"She is very shy. Wonder where she gets that from" Disha said knowingly, glancing at Tiger who blushed slightly.
"It's good to be home," Shraddha said with a smile.
