Arundhati walked back from the building to the bus stop. She looked tired with many cases handled that day.
As she waited for the bus, she saw a car pass by, it stopped in front of her for a moment and rushed through.

"Hello there!" Came an excited voice from behind. She turned and smiled at its owner.

"Wont you celebrate your birthday?" She asked, checking the time.

"That's exactly what I am here for..." Vasisht said in a hardly audible tone. "Would you mind joining me with the celebrations?"

She gave a serious glance and looked beyond.

"...dont mistake me...I just have no one..."

She looked at him once more and was about to say something when the honking of the city bus disturbed them. She gave a smile and climbed the bus. To her surprise, he did too.

Realising he had his car parked in the middle of the road, he immediately climbed down, having a confused stare.

She chuckled and waved her hands at him when the bus rolled its wheels.

Vasisht sipped his late evening coffee when he heard loud bangs on his door. A little worried with the knock he immediately rushed to open it to find Surya in the most devastating state.

"Surya! What's this!? Are you alright!? What happened!?" Vasisht closed the door behind his friend.

Surya panter for breath and sat on the couch, when he was offered to.

Vasisht sat beside him, holding him by the shoulders. "What happened!?"

"Saanvi..." Surya chocked. "She's missing from afternoon...and I'm really worried..." he uttered.

Vasisht straightened, realising the tight situation.
"Have you called the police?"

Surya replied in affirmation.

"Any information from them?" Vasisht asked again.

Surya nodded in negation. He was expressionless.

Vasisht wiped the beads of perspiration from his forehead.
"Did you call her? Did someone in the house see her go out or something?" He again tried.

"Her phone is in the house and no one saw her since afternoon...I'm... I'm...I just hope she is fine..."

"She will be...dont worry. I'm there with you... wait...did you check the CCTV footage?"

Surya's eyes widened. "No...No...I'll be back.." saying so, he left in a hurry.

Vasisht was called on an emergency to treat a baby which had less chances of survival. He immediately rushed and began the treatment.

He was checking the eyes of the baby when a nurse rushed in. She seemed to be tensed.

"Doctor..we need Dr. Arundhati immediately. The mother is having labour pain...two months before due."

"Did you call her?"

"Yes, but she isn't receiving the call. Since she is the closest to you here, I thought you could help..."

He nodded and instructed his staffs to take care.

In less than fifteen minutes, he reached her house, and it was unusually lit, at 1AM.

He knocked the door twice when a maid opened it.
"Who are you!?"

"I'm Arundhati's colleague. There is an emergency and I have come to take her."

"Are you all a gang of thugs? First him...now you.. want do you want from that poor girl!?" She shouted.

"Him? Who had come before? What happened?"

Without waiting for her to answer, he rushed in, only to find her, sobbing loud covering her face below the sofa.
