Jenny walked with the old man while Michael was walking ahead of them with the child in his arms. Old man talked loud for Michael to hear too, "Worst thing was even she didn't knew that this is her child. She gave this child to me when the child was 5 months old. Now child is 5 years old. She didn't ever visit the child again at all."

Michael couldn't hide his shock. Child didn't know that they were talking about her as she was busy poking Michael's cheeks while showing off her cute smile.

Michael couldn't stop himself from hugging the child tight. He even kissed child's forehead.

Jenny couldn't smile on seeing it.
When Michael's lips touched her forehead child closed her eyes and opened it with a blush.

Michael couldn't hide his delight, "Did you see her blush? so cute!."

They reached the home and Jenny asked, "Did she leave this child because of her gender which is female? She doesn't look like poor even then why?"

Old man smiled at Jenny and said, "Do you think Indian poor hate girl child to give up on her? They think of girl child as a blessing."

He continued, "Discrimination on gender is seen to a extend on rich and to a large extend on middle class but Poor do not show any discrimination at all."

Michael spoke while still making the child laugh, "Discrimination on gender is on poor is a word only on books. If we open our eyes and see, you can find the poor woman selling vegetables on market in city when their husband works on field in village. But think of how many woman are allowed to work on cities and towns."

Old man continued, "Yes, Dowry is a big issue but it is present on every level of society. You can't just blame the poor."

Jenny couldn't stop herself from asking, "If poverty is not the reason then what's the reason for this stone hearted action of abandoning this child then what is?"

Jenny was shocked by old man's answer, "Lust."

But Michael was not stunned,  he even guessed it. After all lust has been the reason for many horrible incidents for centuries.

Old man continued seeing Jenny's helpless state, "Teen pregnancy. She was pregnant with a guy when she was a teen. Parents wanted to marry them, they agreed too. So decided not to undergo abortion but they broke up before child was born. They didn't marry but had child."

Earth was now spinning for Jenny. Michael made child to play to with other and he watched her play before coming to Jenny.

He sat near Jenny and said on a pleasing voice, "Can I stay here for sometime?" after seeing Jenny nod he continued, "Okay then you go and enjoy Jenny. "

When he saw her shook her head as no he asked, "Why not? This is a important day for you. Don't waste it with me."

She got angry on hearing him say 'Don't waste it with me' Time with you is not wasted, it's blessed time.

She said with gritted teeth, "Everything are over. Photos are the only remaining. That's nothing."

Michael thought she is angry as he is coming inside her things so he decided to keep quiet. She is definitely angry on me.

Old man came inside and sat on the sofa. Jenny couldn't stop herself, "Okay she broke up but It's their daughter. Didn't any one of them wanted it?"

Old said with a smile which was impossible on the present situation for Jenny, "However modern we claim ourselves we still have many backward ideas. Even now most people doesn't want to marry a single dad or mother on India due to unwanted responsibility."

Jenny was angry and it was evident in her voice, "Then stay single throughout your life for the child. This is how she should have decided."

Old man's face was now stone cold, "Leaving marriage life and sex life for a problem which could be avoided for them. For these people sex is just a way to get pleasure but it is some serious thing."

Old man continued, "Two youngsters had pleasure and a child is born. They are still having pleasure but see what has happened to this child" He showed the child she was trying to trying to wash a big plate but couldn't lift the plate due to heavy weight.

It broke Michael so much that he ran with teary eyes to help the child. Jenny wanted to run behind Michael too.

But she shouted at the old man, "Can't you take care of these children properly? How can you let them wash their plates! they are children for God's sake."

Old said without any change in facial expressions, "We have 50 children below 7 years and 25 children between 7 to 15. There are 5 children below 2, 5 staff of my home are taking care of them. We are taking care of 75 children with 10 staff."

Jenny felt bad for shouting at him. He continued, "Rate of child being ignored by patents are on an alarming rate. This is worse than abortion but still no one fights for this. We are doing our best."

Old man closed his eyes and Jenny felt bad. She went out to see Michael. He was helping Child wash plates with tears flowing on his cheeks. 

Child sensed his silent tears and wiped his years while shaking her heas conveying that Michael shouldn't cry.

It broke Jenny so much. This would have broke anyone even.

How was the chapter?

I felt like writing "What makes me a man" on this chapter.

People are fighting for abortion when something like this happens too.

These are inspired from a movie on teen pregnancy on tamil. That movie was a good change to the movies which show love as something so pure that people forget it could be lust too.

Song is from that movie. This song made me depressed for two days.
