•Chapter Four•
Hidaya had no idea how time flies, they've only two weeks to vacate their house. They still haven't found a solution to the problem on ground. Her father is trying his best tho, but to no avail.
And Hidaya is also trying her very best to steer clear of Muneer as much as possible, but he is always around her with the excuse of picking up Zahra.
As if.
Hidaya is now afraid of picking up her phone to chat with her friends, because immediately she turned her data on, his message is always the one to come first.
Yep, they're now friends. His words tho.
Not being impolite, she is just trying to keep the promise she made to her mother. It's very hard for her, but she'll keep on trying and in no time she will be able to forget Muneer, muster up the courage to tell him the truth. Their relationship will never happen.
He should know that too before it's too late.
Hidaya left to meet her father, she found him going through some files in the living room.
"Hida, you're here."said her father with a small smile. He looked at her and almost immediately took his eyes back to the pages of the files he was going through.
Hidaya said nothing. She knew his smile was a forced one. She had not seen him look so tense and upset for a long time.
"Don't get worried my dear, I'm looking for a job."He continued.
A job ?
It's too late now, even if he gets a job how much will they pay him ? 50 million ?
What a joke !
Hidaya sat beside him. "Dad, what really happened?"She managed to say.
Alhaji Hussain looked up at her, he was obviously in no mood to relate the story. Hidaya noticed it, she did not want to force him into a narration.
Thus there was silence, a long one. Hidaya's thoughts wandered from the probable to the foreboding: suppose her father couldn't arrange for the money, they will loose the only thing they've remaining of them, their house.
"Forget about what happened it's in the past."He was interrupted by the appearance of Hajiya Mairo.
"We can't forget it so easily. When we don't have a roof over our head, that is enough to remind us of what you did."Hajiya Mairo didn't care if she sounded churlish, it's all his fault, he called it upon himself by being so doltish. How can a man borrow a huge amount of money that he himself wouldn't be able to pay even if he is to sell both of his kidneys.
"I'll get going."Hidaya rose to her feet. She didn't like seeing her parent fight everyday like this. Hidaya went back to her room and sprawled herself on her bed, picked up her phone and rummaged through Twitter, where a particular tweet that caught her eye. It was by Muhammad Areez, the son of the owner of the company where her father loaned 50 million.
He has been given the position of the CEO of the company now. Hidaya knew Muhammad Areez well, so well that they even share a relationship with each other, which is none other than hatred for each other. He was her senior in secondary school, she was in Jss 2 while he was in ss2 , story for another day.

Amb. Sadiq threw the magazine Muhammad's way and hissed loudly. "Just a month of being the CEO and you've brought the company shame!"he blared, staring intensely at Muhammad.
"How do you explain this to the world? How do we stop all there rumors? That you don't want to get married because you think relationship and marriage is a stupid thing and you even went on and gave example of my marriage to your mother! I never knew you were this careless Areez!"
"I didn't say any of that Baaba."he replied unable to meet with his father's intense gaze.
"If you didn't then who did? It was your interview Areez. I didn't want you to go on with this interview because I knew something would happen but I didn't know it's going to be as bad as this! You've ruined our reputation and we've lost all our clients due to your stupidity and foolish mindset. Is it because I sent you abroad to study?"
"Baaba I said it wasn't me. I had issues with the reporter hence she made up all those lies to defame me."he stated rubbing his neck anxiously.
"Issues? Personal issues right?"he questioned and Muhammad remained silent. "Don't tell me you played with the reporter's feelings like you always do Areez."
"She was the one who took it seriously, I didn't even tell her we were a thing."he replied shamelessly.
Amb. Sadiq picked up the magazine and threw it away. "You're going to fix this! I can't go through loss when it's your fault. I'm giving you a week or I'll fix it myself."
"Baaba"he dragged. "How I'm I going to fix this? I can't."
"Are you asking me that?"
Muhammad nodded quietly, he really wasn't interested in the topic anymore, it has already been done, how is he going to fix it, do another interview?
Oh please!
"Okay then! Why would I even trust you to fix it when you got us into this in the first place. The only way to fix this is to get you married as soon as possible."
Muhammad was on his feet, shocked by his father's words. Is he really serious? Marriage?
Oh please!
"Yes!"he reassured, pointing his index finger directly at Muhammad. "Get married and prove the world wrong!"
"That's my final say on this!"with that left the office not leaving room for Muhammad to even argue and voice out his own opinion.
