Chapter IV
Louis's POV:
The security at this campus was total shit if they let me get away with smoking on it, but I did anyway. No one seemed to mind. Being a demon, I could barely feel it, nor did it harm me. I assumed it was the kind of addiction like humans had that they didnt know why they had it in the first place; they just do it to do it.
I took a drag on the new and white cigarette, watching my prey as she had a lunch break inside. I couldn't keep watch of her all day, lest shed be suspicious, and then I'd have to take her the unpleasant way. Which I wasn't about to do to her. She was so pure, so beautiful, even for a human. In the demon plane of my vision a shroud of pure, shining white light emanated around her to show just how pure her soul was.
I groaned just at the thought of devouring that energy whole, that raw and wickedly good ball of sweet energy, and licked the corner of my lips with the tip of my tongue. This was going to be one of my best meals ever.
Tugging my lips into a small smirk when Abby spilled some of her drink on her shirt, I let out a breathy chuckle and shook my head, breathing out the carcinogic vapor into the Earths air. I had to admit, she was cute. I never thought of a human as cute before, save some of the children. Oh, some of their souls were the purest. But they were quite undeveloped, so, in my experience, didnt exactly taste delicious.
I shivered slightly, tapping the end of my cigarette and watching the loose ashes of tabacco fall to the mowed grass. I messed with it with my boot before resting my head on the back of the tree behind the concrete bench I sat on. My side was turned towards Abby, and I was a good distance away, and if she was a good little girl like I knew she was, she would pay attention to her job only and not look at me.
I thought she was a regular college student that attended here at first, but the woman that was now walking towards me was no human at all.
"Louis?"
I looked up to see a pretty blonde face with striking blue eyes, ad pink lips to add to her beauty, with an almost flawless body, covered in skinny jeans and a small, black leather jacket with a white crop top underneath that showed her stomach. I sadly recognized her more than I should've. "Marsha.."
She smirked at me. "What the hells a handsome devil like you doing up here?"
I avoided her gaze and looked back down to the ground, my cigarette tucked in between my index finger and ring finger. I said to her without looking at her, taking in a drag. "I could ask you the same thing Marsh.." I glanced her as a the corner of my mouth tilted into a smirk.
She laughed softly, putting on hand on her hip. "I asked you first Demon Boy..."
I chuckled to myself and tapped at the end of my cigarette again, then drifted my eyes up again to check up on Abby, doing it quickly so Marsha wouldn't notice.
She sat next to me on the bench. "New little play thing of yours?" She giggled.
I rolled my eyes at her and breathed out the smoke. Of course she would notice.
"Oh, and like you're up here for a different reason?" I quipped, raising my brow at her.
She rolled her eyes too. "I'm actually here on buisness, thank you very much."
"Wonder how many poor slobs you dragged down to the dorm bathrooms today..." I mumbled.
She slapped my arm and we both laughed. "Shut up, I've evolved my methods you know..." She smirked, giving me a little nudge with her elbow. "You could find out...you know..." I watched her as her dainty hand slid onto my leg.
I gave her a look. "Oh, could I?" I smirked back at her, taking in her body. I remember it quite well.
"I'll have to pass on that Marsha, sorry..." I declined and took in another drag as she huffed, pulled her hand away and crossed her legs.
"You never have time for me Louis.." She laughed as she said so ironically. I joined in at laughing.
"Darling, that was an eternity ago...get over it."
She laughed and leaned into me a little. "How can I? You were ever so good in bed...and the table.." I bit my lip, keeping my eyes away from her. I glanced her seductive smirk, bringing back painful but memorable memories.
I rolled my eyes playfully, gently nudging her to get her off. "Marsh..."
She sighed and quit the act, pulling out an unlit cigarette. She gestured for me to light it for her, and with yet another eye roll, I did. She giggled in thanks and took in a drag.
"I never knew you were into brunettes Lou..." She said as she blew out her long drag.
I sighed and looked over at Abby, who was now off her lunch break and standing at the front desk, like an obedient girl. I couldn't help but smirk as I looked at her, watching her lips from afar as she spoke to the customer. I sat up against the tree, putting the cigarette back to my lips for the countless time. "Never knew you were the jealous type..."
She scoffed. "I'm not jealous Louis."
"Sure, keep telling yourself that sweetheart.." I chuckled and kept the cigarette tucked into my mouth.
"So full of yourself..." Marsha rolled her blue eyes to the sky, taking a drag. "Still the same Louis I remember..." She giggled, and when we made eye contact she winked, making me laugh and turn back to Abby.
"Hmm. I don't know why you have your pretty little eyes on her, she's not a virgin you know.." Marsha mumbled almost to herself, but I could hear.
I almost spit out my cigarette, coughing roughly and taking it out with my hand. After my fit and watching her laugh at me I cleared my throat and looked at her, narrowing my eyes. "What do you mean? Of course she is! Look at her! I mean, really look at her Marsha.."
Marsha took no time to reply. "I am Louis. She's not a virgin.."
I stared at her with slightly surprised eyes, then back at Abby. Her soul was still as bright and as white as winter snow. "That's impossible...how the fuck you know anyway?"
I watched as she tilted her head back in laughter, hitting my shoulder. "I'm a woman Louis. She's a woman. It's a woman thing! We can just tell..."
"If you can't fucking see Marsha, her soul is as white as a fucking vanilla ice cream cone!" I said a little louder than I wanted. I was growing a bit angry with the siren. It made me more furious when all i got out of her was a giggle and a wink.
I watched her cigarette fall to the floor and rise up from the bench, her blue eyes clouded into a darker shade. "I'll see you around babe..." I clenched my jaw as she winked at me, not even bothering to watch her blatantly walk away from me.
--------
All Marsha did when she swayed her hips away from Louis was grin widely and let a innocent chuckle from her mouth, glancing over her shoulder to see Louis still gazing at the bookstore in confusion.
