Damon Mortimer:

I came out of the room after making sure that Emrys was tucked in and staying in bed to sleep because when I stepped foot into that door she looked like she was about to collapse.

I rolled the sleeves of my suit up and checked on Aj to see that he was still fast asleep on the sofa. I started cleaning the kitchen making sure not to be too loud so that I did not wake either of them up.

Aj was still coughing in his sleep. I continued cleaning the apartment, doing the washing and hanging Aj's bed sheets in the bathroom to dry. In these times I thank my mother for teaching me how to be a real man and take care of household chores.

I had just finished doing the second load of laundry when I heard the pitter patter of little feet and then Aj appeared at the door with his teddy in hand.

"I no feel good." he looked up and me and threw up all over himself and on the floor before I had time to blink.

I rushed over to him and picked his little body and ran him to the sink so that he could finish puking. Once he was done I put him back on his feet and checked his fever.

"You are still a little warm buddy," I commented.

I turned around and started running him a warm bath to get him cleaned up.

Aj was crying silent tears.

"I sticky." he cried standing there.

I sighed and took his so that he was closer to the bath and started to undress him.

"I know little man. Let's get you cleaned up." he nodded and let me put him in the bath.

I washed Aj and got him dried and dressed in clean clothes. I got him to wait in the bathroom on the toilet seat while I cleaned the floor where he threw up. I had to get out of my shirt too because it turns out that I got it stained when I was taking care of Aj. I did another load of washing with my shirt in and took Aj in my arms and brought us back into the living room.

"Do you want to eat little man?" I questioned, sitting him on the kitchen counter.

He just shook his head no but then asked me for water. I got him a glass and waited for him to drink it all.

"I tired." Aj pouted and did grabby hands towards me so that I could put him down.

"Do you want to go in your bed?" I asked down at him.

He was holding onto me with his head on my shoulder. He nodded his head and I walked him back to his room. I placed him in his bed making sure he was cool enough to keep his temperature down.

I got back up and was ready to leave when Aj called me back crying and coughing.

He continued coughing and coughing until I walked back to his bed.

"What's the matter, little man?" I cooed picking him back up in my arms.

I wiped away the tears from his cheeks. He wrapped his arms around my neck as he continued hiccuping and coughing.

I cradled him in my arms laying my cheek on the top of his head until he calmed down. I craned my neck to look at him and saw that he had fallen asleep in my arms. I went to lay him back in his bed but Aj was not letting me go.

I lifted him higher in my arms and moved his head because he didn't seem very comfortable and walked him back into the living room. I sat down and got a blanket to cover us and let him sleep on me.

I liked taking care of Aj and I was happy when I was here with my Sunshine and the little lad. Aj and I relationship has grown and he is trusting me a lot more than at the beginning. I ran my hand up and down his back.

I soon followed him into the land of sleep and just let the darkness take over.

Emrys Belle:

I rolled over in bed and opened my eyes, rubbing the sleep out of them and decided it was time to get up and get on with the day and maybe do a little revision and get ready for my work tomorrow and hope for Aj to be better because I can't miss another lecture nor a day of work.

I chucked a woolly jumper over my shoulder and ran my fingers through my hair and then walked out to find the boys. I dragged my feet and walked into the living room to see both boys sleeping on the sofa.

A small smile graced my lips as I made my way closer to them. Damon had his head leaned back on the sofa, his mouth open breathing heavily as he held Aj to his chest who seemed to be sleeping peacefully.

I kissed Aj forehead and ran my hand over his forehead brushing the strands away from his face to realise that he did not have a fever anymore.

I leaned over and kissed Damon's cheek to then realise that he was shirtless. I started blushing lightly seeing his shirtless all over again, his tattoos on display for my eyes to run over and admire.

"You need to stop staring at me when you think I don't know you are." I jumped back at Damon's groggy voice.

"I was not ogling you, I was making sure you were physically healthy." I justified crossing my arms over my chest.

"Well if I were you I would make the examination extremely thorough." he smirked and put on of his hands out beckoning me over.

My lips lifted up slightly as I took his hand and let him drag me next to him on the sofa. I folded my legs under me and placed my chin on Damon's shoulder.

"How did it go while I was asleep?" I questioned snuggling closer to Damon.

"We had a throw-up episode. I handled it. Aj had a meltdown and just needed a hug and some comforting and here we are." he kissed the tip of my nose making me scrunch my face.

He chuckled lowly and shook his head with amusement written all over his face.

"You are too cute." he kissed my nose again and a scrunched my nose again at the contact.

"I see that my son is glued to you." I looked down at Aj, his long lashes touching the apple of his cheeks as he breathed steadily without coughing.

"He is. I am accepted." Damon looked down at Aj still with his firm hand on his back.

"I really appreciate you staying today," I confessed placing my hand over Damon's.

"I told you I didn't mind staying. I'm glad I did because I got to get closer to the little lad and you got some well-deserved rest and I got some cleaning in so that you didn't have to do anything." Damon laced our fingers together, both our hands placed on Aj's back.

"Thank you. You have no idea how much that helped me." I ran my thumb over his knuckles.

"You are welcome. I'm glad I could help and I am free tomorrow to keep Aj again. I know you need to get back to work and studying, and I don't mind having Aj. Also, my mother wants to see him again so I was thinking of bringing him to her if that's alright with you."

He rolled his head to look at me, his warm brown eyes melting into mine.

"Thank you, Damon. And as long as Aj is fine with going and feels better than you can take him where you want."

I had full trust in Damon, there was no reason why I should not.

Aj woke up eventually acting a little more like himself. Damon left and went back to his place promising to come back in the morning before I had to go to work and babysit Aj for me.

I spent the rest of my evening revising, hoping that tomorrow will go perfectly between Aj and Damon because this would be the first time that I let Aj be with someone that was not family – apart from daycare – without me being near to watch.
