Chapter 10
Adrien's POV
We canceled our plans to go out after school and instead, we are going to help Marinette out at her bakery. She insisted she was fine on her own but, we were still going to help her. We made it to her bakery and she unlocked the door.
She handed us an apron and she put on hers. She smiled and took a deep breath. "So, we need to assign jobs. Als, do you mind being the waitress?" "Course not!" "Nino, can you do the cash register?" "Sure, dudette." "And Adrien?" "Yeah?" "Do you mind helping me with the baking?" I nodded.
"I don't mind baking. I would rather do that than man the cash register or be a waiter and have a bunch of fans swarm around me." She giggled and smiled. "Alright, lets do this then!" She flipped the sign to open and me and her headed into the kitchen.
She grabbed a bag of flour and placed it on the counter. She grabbed a bunch of eggs and a gallon cooking oil. I stared at the normally clumsy girl then, remembered she is Ladybug. She grabbed some more eggs and put her hair in a bun.
Nino came in and handed Marinette a piece of paper. "We have a lady that needs a shit ton of food for a party and we have a bunch more customers wanting a few more things." He left and went back to the cash register. Mari nodded and rolled up her sleeves. "Let's do this."
We started baking and we did pretty good. I had no experience in baking so, I messed up a lot of the time. I would steal her croissants just because they tasted like a little slice of heaven. She whacked my head with a bag filled frosting. "Stop eating the croissants!" I rolled my eyes and went back to mixing the cake batter.
We finished the food for the lady rather quickly and Marinette grabbed it and walked out of the kitchen to give it to the lady since, Alya was taking care of some other customers.
Mari's POV
I walked to the lady and handed her the pastries. She scowled. "How long does it take to make this! I have gotten it in half the time. Honestly, you would think a baker would know how to do this. How disappointing!" I stared at the ground and tears pooled in my eyes. I started climbing the stairs to get to my bedroom.
I felt a hand on my shoulder and I turned around. Adrien. "Don't listen to that lady. The only reason we didn't get it done quickly is because I don't have any experience baking and I kept stealing treats." I shrugged my shoulders. I still blamed myself. It wasn't his fault. A tear slid down my cheek and Adrien pulled me into a tight hug. I cried and when, I was done I wiped my eyes with the bake of my hand.
He led me back to the kitchen and we continued baking. He kept making jokes and puns that were similar to Chat's. We closed the bakery after the last customer left at 5 PM. Alya flipped the sign to closed and I locked the door.
We hung up our aprons and I rubbed my hands together. "Now, who wants a Dupain Cheng style dinner?" Nino's and Alya's hands shot up while, Adrien looked hesitant. "I don't think my father would allow that." I rolled my eyes.
"Fuck what your father wants. What he doesn't know won't kill him." I dragged him into the dining room and pushed him into a chair and the four of us had dinner.
