UNWANTED ENCOUNTER

A new day crawled in followed by Bhrea's excessive turmoil throughout the college hours. She scooted out with a heavy skull weighing upon her shoulders. Guiding her hands to knead the edges of her shoulder blades, she sighed heavily. However, out of the blue, an alarming voice ran to her auditory nerves, startling her entire bony structure straight away.
"Hey! You're here, finally."
Bhrea squinted her eyes. "You again? What are you doing here?" Bhrea asked, mustering all her inbuilt valour as she watched the other one approaching her.
The opposite individual stalled for a few seconds before replying, "Uh, I was just passing by. So, why not see you for once? Fair, right?"
Clearly, she was trying to get under the skin.
Bhrea pressed her lips together as her frustration level signalled an ultimatum. Clenching her fists into two light balls, she burst out, "Lie. A sour lie. Why don't you speak the truth? Just say that you're here to stalk me yet again!"
The other personality felt the acid in Bhrea's voice, interpreting the actual stress.
"Wooah, you really got me this time. That's good though..."
"Heck? What's good about this? What do you want? Why do you keep following me every day?"
"You..." the newer person smirked devilishly, making Bhrea's stomach roll in annoyance.
"The hell do you mean?" Bhrea spat with a glare.
"Chills, I ain't asking you for anything bad. It's clear as pure water and you know it very well. I love you. So, be my girlfriend, as simple as that."
"What is it? Some kind of stupid joke?" A long sigh escaped Bhrea's lips and she resumed, "See, I think I already told you before that I'm not interested in you. I'm not gay!"
"Shut the fuck up! I saw you kissing a girl at the cafe two days back. The one with a nose pin. Who do you think you're fooling, huh?"
Crap. Was she even real?
"You- you seriously stalked me to that extent? Wow, fantastic! You invaded my damn privacy! You freak!" Bhrea gushed out as her patience approached rock bottom.
A chilly breeze blew Bhrea's hair strands and the other figure rolled her eyes while fixing her own long wavy dark hair. Her almond eyes hit Bhrea's vision as if she was reading her capacity.
"Funny, but not my style. You dumped me."
"I dumped you?" Bhrea cocked her eyebrows to which the opposite creature nodded in riposte. "Hold up! It was you who disappeared as if you never existed. And now, after so long, you came out of nowhere and recommenced stalking me again. Why? Just why? How do you even have the audacity to say that I dumped you? Take a break already!"
"My break was long enough and I realised how crazy you got me in love. It affects me, my sanity. So, you gotta help me out. It's all your fault."
"Wait, what? My- my fault? Seriously?"
The acquaintance shook her head up and down to retort yet another time.
Bhrea slightly dropped her jaw being unable to believe and process the entire striking conversation. And sooner than later, she lost it. "Listen, let me be very clear to you. If you would've only sought friendship, I would have never denied your proposal but sorry to say, I can't afford to accept your request. Don't make me regret my life decisions by saying that our meeting was one of the worst and unwanted ones. So cut this out and never think of showing me your face again."
Terminating the last statement, Bhrea stormed away towards the parking lot, leaving behind the obsessed stalker biting her gums. Her visions trailed Bhrea's movements as she got into her car and within moments, disappeared into the distance.

The front door opened and rewind with a thud. Bhrea plopped down on the sofa, her backpack accompanying her. Her fingers kept fidgeting as her palms became sweaty. Her lips lightly trembled as she ran her thoughts back in time, to the moment when the weird stalker caught up to her in the late afternoon.
Sometimes, acting out of repulsion can invite a huge tremor. Especially if it was for a personality like Bhrea.
As she was busy judging the fairness of her words told to that uninvited personality, a ringing tone emerged from her purse. She flinched a bit prior to grabbing her device.
Checking the caller's name, she swiped the screen.
"Hello, sis? It's Grace." Grace waited for her response.
"Yeah... I know that already. What is it?"
"Will be a little late today, okay? I'm in the school library with my friends, preparing for a class test."
She answered patiently, "No worries. Complete it, I can wait."
"Mmm, just spare me an hour more, okay? I'll try to make it as fast as possible."
"Suit yourself. See you soon, Tae." And they hung up on each other.

Two hours later, Bhrea walked out of the restroom after taking a long warm shower. Perching down in front of the dresser, she gazed at her reflection. "Was that really the right thing to do? I really messed up this time..." She bit her lips while blow-drying her hair.
Soon, a few rounds of knocking at the main door drew her attention. She rushed to the entrance and stalled before swaying the door open.
"Hey, Tae..." Bhrea forced a smile to which Grace squinted her eyes.
Something felt off. Like really off the track.
And it didn't take long for Grace to interpret that.
"Lemme guess. YOU SCREWED IT UP. Is that so?"
Bhrea nodded her skull lightly out of a motor reflex and gasped on realizing what she did.
Grace gaped at her till what seemed like half a minute and later she passed her on the way inside the hall, undulating her head from side to side.
