"Can you believe him?!?!" Gabriel shouted, one hand in the air, waving around carelessly while the other was on the wheel of his car as he drove back home furiously.
"Jean is so pathetic! And to think of the fact that he has slept with both of them disgusts me!"
Nooroo only swallowed hard to that last statement, knowing some things his owner wasn't thinking of whilst raging.
"Why won't he let me have that stupid address?!?!" The grey haired man continued. "What are they hiding?!?!"
In the meantime, while the designer was basically shaking his car through these sudden yells, Nathalie was making herself tremble through tears.
She felt that she had nothing left.
After all she had gotten rid of her best friend and now the apartment felt awfully quiet.
The sole sound that could be heard other than the woman's very own sobs was the drunk shouts of her landlord saying he needs rent money.
"Shut up Kevin!" The dark haired woman screamed. "No one wants to pay for this shit hole!"
Her head crashed against the wall.
Only wishing for a faint hug of some sort, or a kiss, telling her it'll be alright.
Her eyes opened, tears making it impossible to see anything at first, but as she took the sleeve of her pijama shirt to soak them up, she could make out something blurry of her apartment.
The vision she had wasn't the best without her glasses, but she was too drained from energy to reach over to her beside table and grab it.
Instead, she searched for the next closest object, which ended up being her brightly shining phone with five new notifications.
At first she thought it was some random work email, possibly a new costumer.
Then, as she leaned closer she could see the icon symbolizing personal messages, therefore Gabriel came to mind.
However, to her surprise the name which had been looking for her didn't being with a G, instead it was a J.
After they broke up, the dark haired woman had changed the butlers name back from Armand to Jean, just so his contact would feel less personal to her.
Since the assistant was one of the first and few individuals who got knowledge of the real name of Audrey's employee, she felt very honored and close to him.
However, after they ended what they had shared for years, Nathalie wished to get rid of all those feelings of closeness.
Therefore, she pretended to be one of the majority that had no idea of his name.
Anyway, at first she shook her head and pushed her phone away.
Though as a couple minutes have passed the dark haired woman seemed to have began the process of changing her mind.
The message appeared almost alluring, and the fact that she didn't fully know what it said since only a small portion of what had been written could be seen, the woman had to open it.
Apologies for the disturbance, but your superior had made a rather strange visit at the hotel this evening, demanding your address and yelling at me about how sick you've been.
Is everything alright Nathalie?
Is this still apart of your escape plan?
I didn't tell him where you live, but I'm worried.
I sincerely apologize for all of these, maybe it isn't my place to ask such questions and feel such emotions, but if you need anything, I'm here.
The young woman gasped as she saw what had been written.
The format, the wording, the events.
It reminded her of things she wished to forget and it concerned her as to why Gabriel was so nosy and demanding.
The woman also felt a sudden jump of her own heart, as the line "I'm here." felt like something she would want to agree into.
Once again, Duusu was not there to get her owner out of the foolish thoughts and the awful decisions which she was about to make as she didn't even start to write, but instead pressed the call button straight away.
Within seconds; as if he was sitting right there, phone in hand, the butler picked up.
"Armand." Nathalie whispered to which a 'yes' answered.
"Are you with Audrey?" The dark haired woman asked, wrapping her arms around her legs and bringing her knees up so that she could lay her head on them while sitting on the bed and sobbing into the phone line.
"Not anymore." He answered, his breath scared, shook from what had happened previously with Gabriel.
"You were with her?"
"She's drunk."
"That's not what I asked." The assistant's voice became stern.
"Yes." Jean sighed. "I was with her."
"For how long?"
"Nathalie." The butler breathed, falling back on the chair in which the was sitting, his office chair, and closing his eyes as his head tilted back. "No emotions are involved whatsoever. You know she is with everyone."
"So are you."
"And? What do you want? We are not together. Am I not meant to do anything because I need to save myself for you, or what?!" By now Armand's voice was loud and clear, he had gotten up from his chair and stomped his feet on the ground as he finished his sentence.
The assistant on the other line looked to the side, away from the call where him name was flashing brightly.
She felt stupid for asking such question, it wasn't her place to be and it wasn't even the reason as to why she called, however, something in the dark haired woman seemed to have felt the need to know.
"Jean?" She mumbled, barely audible.
"Who's that?"
The woman rolled her eyes while she let her legs stretch out and her head rest back against the soft, fluffy pillows.
"Armand." Her voice was much more delicate through the pronunciation.
"Yes?" He answered with a smile.
"Are any of the cars free?"
"Absolutely." He began buttoning up his shirt and grabbing the nearest sort of coat or warm price of clothing.
"Come." She sighed, knowing it would be the worst decision of the week, and these past seven days have been her all time low in life choices.
"On my way Nath."
The call had ended and Nathalie pulled her blanket over herself in shame.
She couldn't believe that she was really doing this.
It would put her in a lower place than where she was at now, and this felt like absolute rock bottom.
If her peacock friend would've been floating around here, then no such nonsense would be allowed to pass by, but without her trusty guide, Nathalie let her feelings pick freely what they wanted.
Now there was nothing that she could do.
The dark haired woman simply had to wait until her worst decision would ring the doorbell and make his way up the stairs smoothly.
It would be any minute, considering how crazy he drove when he had somewhere to get or at least convinced himself that he did.
In this case Nathalie was sure that all the red light would seem green to him, as if the only way to stop the car would be a huge brick wall.
Anyway, eventually the consequences of her actions caught up with the woman and her doorbell did indeed ring.
It forced the assistant to get out of bed and let in what she shouldn't have even thought of.
"Nath." He hugged her immediately, as soon as her apartment door had opened.
The thick coat in which he was basically absorbing the dark haired woman too while she was in his embrace.
"Are you okay?" Jean questioned, one of his hands quickly reaching to lift up the fallen, embarrassed expression of Nathalie.
"I'm fine."
"You actually look sick, like how Gabriel said."
"Thanks a lot." She turned her back to the butler who hurried to take off his coat and then reach after his ex.
"I didn't mean it like that." He swung her around, making the woman have no choice but to face him. "You know it."
"Alright!" She waved her arms in the air to put some distance between the two of them and it actually ended up being successful.
"Just stop all this caring and come inside."
Armand immediately shut up and followed behind the assistant.
As predicted, she had led him to the bedroom, though the true intentions not fully crystal clear, some ideas lingering around in the air, waiting to be caught.
"So." She put herself back in the bed from the exact spot that she had called him from. "Sit!" Nathalie's hands pointed to a place beside her.
Jean smiled for a few seconds prior to taking his seat and scooting closer, like how Nathalie instructed him to do so.
"You and Audrey." She began, to which Armand rolled his eyes and groaned;
"It's nothing." She sighed. "Please Nath, this isn't what I came for. And I didn't come for anything bad. I just-...want to make sure that you're alright. Your boss had actually scared me, a lot!"
"He shouldn't have." Her eyes rolled around and she shook her head the same time she thought back to her and Gabriel's phone call.
He did sound concerned, but never in a million year would've the assistant thought that her boss would get in a car at night and investigate this much.
It stupidly filled her head with ideas so romantic that even a romance novel couldn't handle it.
Though Nathalie was already in a bad state of mind tonight.
Her surroundings wouldn't fix it either, so for just a split second she allowed herself to think of all the things Duusuu would scream at if she could sense this.
To be continued-
