Gabriel wouldn't have expected himself to be heading back to Mayura's house for what felt like the millionth time by now.

However, Nooroo had convinced the grey haired man that they had to save the woman from the broken peacock miraculous and make sure that no one would be harmed anymore.

It didn't sound like an easy plan and it wasn't an easy plan, but it was too late now to turn back.

In the darkness of the night Hawk Moth found himself jumping from one rooftop to another, the route to her house was getting familiar since he's been there so many times before.

Yet as much as he had seen that apartment, the designer still had no clue who was hidden behind the blue mask of Mayura.

Gabriel had observed the place where she lives, her belongings and the villainous woman was even truly honest with him at times, but despite this all, Hawk Moth didn't know the 'real' Mayura.

Anyway, as he was getting closer and closer to the apartment the man hoped that he wouldn't be too late, he hoped that May would still be there and not gone to 'escape' Paris as she had always wished to.

Once arriving to the window which he usually snuck in through; the tall man crouched down to see if there was any source of light or any sign of life in the apartment, but nothing.

So, after that observation Hawk Moth gathered his courage to carefully knock on the window.

"May?" His voice whispered hesitantly if it would get an answer back. "Are you here? It's me...Hawk Moth...and I'm sorry for everything."

Now the villian waited for something to happen, a light to suddenly turn on or maybe for a voice to yell at him, however, his hopes began falling apart by each and every second he spent standing in front of the window because nothing and no one replied to him.

"May!" Gabriel tried again. "Listen I know I'm a stubborn and stupid man...in fact I know you must hate me now but-...but gosh...I-...I think I love you."

The tall man's eyes began to fill with tears as he had uttered his last words, and still there was nothing he received as a response.

"May if you're in there please say something!" Hawk Moth couldn't help but shout as his last hope, then, when it was only the wind which made a sound back at him, he sighed.

"She left." And with that the man uttered his de-transformation words. "Nooroo dark wings fall."

When his small kwami came across his owner crying he knew this wasn't good news, and from there he knew that Mayura was no longer to be found.

In the meantime Mayura too was somewhere on the rooftops in Paris, however she had been heading the exact opposite direction as Hawk Moth.

While the tall man was at Mayura's apartment, Mayura made her way over to the Agreste mansion.

The reason for this was that since she'd decided now was the time to attempt her run-away plan again, so she had to quit her job first.

Therefore, Mayura after transforming into Nathalie planned to place a letter in her boss's mailbox which whenever he'd open would tell him that she had quit.

Of course the letter wouldn't actually inform the designer where she was going or explain the true reason as to why the assistant was leaving her job, it would simply be some made up lie that hopefully sounded believable to Gabriel and wouldn't make him think something suspicious about this.

Nathalie hoped with all her strength that her boss wouldn't get skeptical of her sudden, unexpected quitting.

After all if he'd sense that something isn't right and would get the police involved, then the dark haired woman's escape plan was all going to fail.

So, as the assistant reached into her pocket to grab the letter, she squeezed her eyes together tightly whilst mumbling:
"Please don't care please don't care please don't care!"

Now she had grasped the letter and was about to put it in the mailbox in front of her, but a voice stopped her;

"Miss, are you sure this is a good idea?" Her little floating friend whispered from underneath the woman's coat.
"I mean are we definitely sure we want to leave behind Mr Gabriel who has helped us so much over the years? Is that a smart move?"

"Not rotting here in Paris anymore being someone's servant is a smart move Duusu!" Nathalie spat back. "I'm tired of always working for someone and that being all that I do! I don't even have a life outside of this stupid fashion thing! I'm not even interested in fashion, not to mention that I don't have any friends either to at least ease the stress of this all!"

"B-but-"

"Look Duusu I know Gabriel paid me well so I was financially covered, but living in an old, crusty apartment with a creepy landlord and constant repair issues was not the life I was to live forever! I don't want fashion shows to be my only vacation times and I don't want sit behind the same desk until the day that I die."

When the woman was finished with what she was saying she turned her head away from her kwami and once again faced the gate of the Agreste mansion.

The mailbox was right in front of her, all she had to do was to reach her arm a little up and drop in the letter, however, something held her back.

It wasn't an actual physical force this time, she just simply had the feeling that she needed to ask Duusu before dropping in the letter.

"What do you think though?" The assistant whispered in an embarrassing tone.
"Do you think this is crazy of me to do?"

"Miss I shouldn't judge how you wish to continue your life, I'll just always be beside you, or at least I hope so."

"Oh Duusu." Nathalie sighed with a heavy heart.

Not only did the words of her kwami make her soul feel warm, but now she was also hesitating about what she should do.

She didn't know if she wanted to leave or to stay.

Which one would be the safer decision and which one would be the better decision?

The dark haired woman shook her head;

"I don't know!" She shouted. "I don't know what I want! I keep changing my mind almost every second and the peacock miraculous only makes every emotion much worse!"

"I'm sorry Miss." The kwami murmured a quiet apology. "I really don't mean to hurt you!"

"I know Duusu, but maybe...maybe I should take a break from using the miraculous and see what my mind will tell me then."

"S-so you're renouncing me?" Now the small creature trembled from the thought.

She didn't want to be left alone again for centuries, she was already lonely enough.

She couldn't even have the love of her life, and now she could possibly lose all her power too, it seemed all so scary to Duusu.

"Oh I'm sorry." Nathalie looked at the ground with a depressed expression. "I don't mean to do this to you...but the peacock miraculous makes me-...sick."

While these two were having a breakdown in front of the iron gates, Hawk Moth had started to make his way back from Mayura's.

Needless to say he was in the worst of moods, the villian's heart ached since he thought he had lost it all.

The woman who made him feel a sudden spark in himself was no longer in his life, and to Gabriel that felt like the greatest loss of them all.

Almost as if he had lost Emilie all over again.

However, just when he was about to hop into his own house through his upstairs bedroom window his eyes spotted someone's silhouette before the entrance to the mansion.

The designer wasn't expecting guests, so he had no idea who it could be that was before the gate at the crack of dawn.

Nevertheless, it didn't take the man too much time before he hopped down on rooftops and balconies to investigate this strange phenomenon.

As he got closer and closer to the ground the outline of the stranger began to clear up, but when he realized who that person was, the designer didn't want to believe his own eyes.

His assistant!
His assistant?

What on earth what she doing there? He thought that to himself.

Was she coming into work that early?

After all Gabriel knew that Nathalie liked to start an hour early to answer all the emails, but it was barely 5am and still completely dark outside due to the rainy weather, so then why was she there?

More importantly; why was she on the floor and...crying?

There were too many questions spinning in the curious man's mind, so although he also shouldn't have been where he was at this time of the day, he couldn't help but want to ask what his employee was up to.

To be continued-
