"You're strange." Commented Mayura as she kept her eyes on the man for a little longer. "Why are you so afraid of the public?"

He sighed, and shook his head, breaking the eye contact that the two individuals had.
"I-...it's complicated." Hawk Moth mumbled before awkwardly moving his hand a bit closer to Mayura's.
Thankfully though she didn't notice, or at least he thought so, but once Gabriel glanced up to see his friend's face, he spotted her staring back at him, her lips forming a soft smile whilst her eyes sparkled in the light-toned moonlight and not in tears.

"Complicated huh?" She began, moving her hand also closer to his, so a few of their fingers touched "Did someone hurt you or what?"

"I-..." That question sounded almost unbelievable to the villain who suddenly didn't even notice that he teared up "I-...well-...y-yes."

"So now you just isolate yourself from everything and everyone as a coping mechanism?"

"I-..." Hawk Moth couldn't even respond, he was too overwhelmed to, in fact it almost felt as if something was holding him back from speaking.
Like an imaginary knife that would slash his throat open the second he uttered a word.
Yet in real life there was nothing holding him back. Gabriel was free. It was only his fears which made him imagine such horrid things that got him in tears.

So he was about to lift his hand to wipe away his tears, however before he could do so, Mayura grabbed onto him stronger than ever  and didn't allow the man to lift his hand, instead she leaned closer, and with her own hand wiped away his tears.

"You know just because you had a bad experience a while ago doesn't mean that-"

"I KNOW!" He shouted out of nowhere, making the bird woman flinch and back up a little bit "I know that not all people are evil! B-but-...I can't! I can't d-do it again! I w-won't ever trust anyone again! I-I won't! N-no I-I won't!!"

"Alright, alright calm down Mothy." She whispered scooting closer once more and placing her arm around his back "There's no need to shed tears over something that's in the past and you can't change."

"B-but I...b-but I could change it!" Gabriel sobbed "If I could once finally win, then I could get those two wicked miraculouses and change all my past mistakes! I could save myself and-...and..."

"And?"

"And...her." The villain whispered so quietly that even his closely sitting friend had trouble hearing.
But after he had repeated "her" many many times with a shaking voice, Mayura understood that her villain partner wanted someone very special back.
So to know exactly who Hawk Moth was talking about, the bird woman asked:

"Her? Who is her?"

To that question the man beside her shook his head, wiped his tears away, and squeezed her hand that he was holding tighter.

"The person I lost." He began slowly "the person I loved and still love." Hawk Moth went on, even with his weak, trembling voice "The person who made my life worth living. The person who eased my pain every second. The person who constantly put a smile onto my face. The woman who mesmerized me. The woman who gave me a family. The woman who made me who I am today. My love. My only love. My sweet, sweet wife. My life. My breath. My one and only reason to live." He sighed "I want to save...her!"

As he finished speaking, Gabriel lifted up his fallen down face, turned to the woman beside him, and as he saw her shocked face he gently lifted her hand up, before placing a kiss on it and smiling.

"I hope you understand." He whispered "That I'd do quite literally anything for her."

"I-"

"Even if it meant fighting you" he cut her off and continued to speak "I still wouldn't hesitate. Especially now that you've made it clear that you'd also fight me."

"I-"

"I'd kill for that woman! Please understand May. She's my everything. My whole entire existence is her. I need her, I want her. I am desperate!"

"I-..." the villain woman was left absolutely speechless "I...I understand. Of course it all makes sense! I-I-...I just didn't think that your reason would be so-...logical!" Mayura spat as a tear drop accidentally showed up in her eyes, instantly alarming her friend next to her.

"What do you mean?" He leaned closer to her, attempting to wipe away those tiny forming tears, but as he tried, the woman smacked his hand away.

"I mean that I-...you see my reason to win is so-...so pathetic compared to yours." She sighed awkwardly, then hid her face away in her palm.

"Well what is it? What do you want to achieve?"

"I-...world domination." She chuckled in embarrassment "How basic of me I know! Just like every other villain!! B-but-...well-...I have my reasons."

"Which are?"

"You know nothing ever goes my way." May cried "So if I could have power over everything t-then-...pathetic I know."

"No-no. It's alright don't worry" Gabriel smiled, placing his hand over her back and pulling the woman into a tight embrace "I understand you completely. In fact I'd also like to achieve that, but my love comes before all other plans."

"Yes of course." The bird lady sighed as she has felt something she hasn't quite yet felt before.
It was a bit of regret, mixed with the strong emotions of love.
She felt something for the man beside her, but since he had just done a heartfelt explanation about his long lost wife, Mayura knew that she didn't have much of a chance.
In fact he quite literally said that he'd kill her for that mysterious "her".
So obviously the villain woman wasn't exactly feeling the best, yet she still hoped with all the power in her that the stupidly dressed guy beside her saw, or at least felt a tiny spark between them, and maybe, if it would work out, in the future they could get closer whilst fighting down those idiotic teenagers.

"Well anyways May!" Hawk Moth's voice brought her back into reality "I must make my way home."

"You must?" A faint little whisper came from the woman who suddenly grabbed her friend's arm instead of hand, because that way she could hold him back better.

"Yes May I must. I have-...I have a family, and I need to-"

"Please take me with you." Mayura uttered without noticing that she just spoke her mind out to the man who wasn't supposed to know anything about her.
She was supposed to remain that cold, mysterious, villain woman everyone knew, however it was almost as if Nathalie couldn't help herself in this situation, because those words just effortlessly slipped out of her mouth and before she knew it Hawk Moth was staring down at her with a rather shocked face.

"Pardon?" He asked "Did you mean that?"

"I-...what of course not hahah!" She mocked her own self, concerning the man a little bit "Why would I want to go home with a guy I've just met a couple hours ago!?" Mayura laughed hysterically "Please!! I have better people to be with!!"

"I-...alright then." Gabriel shrugged "Have a good night with those people. And see you again soon?"

"Y-yes please" she smiled before watching her new crush hop away as he ran through the secret route on top of the buildings, and as soon as he was gone May almost instantly gave herself a slap.

"Stupid!" She shouted "You're so so so stupid!! Idiot!! You totally lost him!!" She now cried and curled up into a ball before closing her eyes in hopes of that calming her down a bit.
However there was no way to heal a broken heart, and Mayura knew that, she just couldn't accept the fact that she liked someone she had no chance with. So even though she didn't want to, she fell asleep completely crying her eyes out.

Meanwhile that, that moth man himself had arrived home, and after he changed back into his normal human form he went downstairs into his basement as always.

There he found his perfectly preserved wife who looked just as gorgeous as she always had.
Her flawless porcelain skin, her stunning rosy lips, and her breathtaking little smile.
It all made the man blush, however the longer he stared he began to see something he hadn't quite ever seen before.

That wonderful skin of hers suddenly switched to blue in his vision, and her mesmerizing blond hair morphed into a short blue hair cut.

Long story short, before Gabriel knew it he was no longer imagining how pretty his wife was, but instead he saw the woman who sat next to him this very night.
Mayura.

To be continued-

Goshhh I'm proud of myself for this.
