"It's fine." Mayura shrugged, still trying to act as if she wouldn't have care, but it was obvious that deep down this was all over her mind.

She couldn't escape being overwhelmed about her constant sickness and she also couldn't get rid of the thought of Hawk Moth.

Almost like a curse.

She constantly had to be thinking of things that made her nervous, though at least the man didn't affect her terribly compared to the broken brooch.

"May?"

His voice on the other hand, it didn't help, more like worsened the situation in which the dark haired woman could no longer pull off her ignorant behavior.

Nathalie's teary eyes looked up at the tall man close to her and soon, when the villian saw this; her blue skin appearing pink as the salty tears began to irritate it, he had to worriedly ask:

"What is it?" His eyes became filled with concern and now both of his hands began to reach out for Mayura.

"What have I done?" Gabriel's unsteady voice whispered, only a few centimeters away from her face, then, softly, Hawk Moth's hands rested on the sides of her cheeks which felt unusually warm, almost as if she would've had a fever.

"Is it the 'sickness' that's making you so sad or me?" he pulled her even closer to himself, completely ignoring the unusual behavior of his partner.

Her eyes filled with tears, her whole body looking as if it was about to collapse, but once she rested against his chest, Mayura seemed to relax a bit.

She tilted her head against him and the woman's breathing became more steady as the minutes passed by.

Nathalie couldn't have even lied to herself, it was a pleasant feeling to have him this close, it always have been.

The assistant allowed herself to sink a little deeper into his touch before whispering.

"I'm sorry." Her words were quiet. "Everything is so much right now."

Gabriel could sense her emotions, he knew it wasn't a fever type of sickness that made the woman tremble so badly, it was something else terrible as well as his own doing that affected Mayura this much.

The only thing the designer wasn't aware of, was that he didn't do any harm, instead, he flustered her, now she just couldn't hide it, not to mention that the 'sickness' forced the dark haired woman to exaggerate her emotions all the time.

Therefore, Nathalie couldn't help it, she had been cursed to act this way.

"May" his voice so nicely begged. "please tell me exactly what's wrong. I want to know more about this sickness, I want to know all that's bothering your soul."

However, the woman just shook her head in a protest.

"Please!" Hawk Moth's voice now grew louder. "I'll do anything in return."

"You don't need to." The assistant sighed. "J-just...leave me-" her voice sounded uneasy, too anxious to simply finish her sentence.

Mayura couldn't have told her partner how bad her sickness was, or how much she loved him.

Though while she felt powerless, Gabriel took this time to his advantage and instead tried to tell her what he's been wanting to say for a long time now.

"May." The man's voice confidently began. "I will leave, I promise, but I need to tell you something before I do that."

Those feelings he tried to push down to the very bottom of his heart began to bubble up like a fizzy drink some kid had shook for way too long.

This unexpected excitement of Hawk Moth could barely be contained, though the man tried his very best to remain calm and collected.

"What is it?" The woman against him hesitated a bit, she didn't know how much she could trust her partner or what he would say to her, but from what feelings she could sense, they were only positive.

"Well..." Hawk Moth took a deep breath in. "The night that I met you I didn't think we would become such great friends. In fact, I didn't even think we would talk anymore, but I'm so glad we did because you're-"

"Enough!" She unexpectedly cut him off. "I don't want to hear it!"

"What? You don't even know what I have to say."

"Oh I think I know it a little too well!" Her eyes glowed from what seemed to be frustration, but Hawk Moth didn't have time to process what was happening or to understand why she had gotten mad at him because Mayura began to speak again with a loud tone, trying to sound like the man in front of her.
"You're a really great friend." she mocked Gabriel." I hope we can stay friends, if not more...because you know I have feelings for you-"

"May what the-"

"And this all plays out so you can fuck me!" She now screamed with her own voice, placing her hands against his chest so she could put some distance between the two of them.

"Wha-"

"Listen Mothy," she grabbed the collar of his costume. "Every single man on this planet is the same! I have been through this thousands of times, so spare me."

"But I genuinely care about you a lot-"

"That what they all say!" Her eyes teared up.
"And that's just to lure you in!"

"May, I promise I'm not-"

"-oh don't you dare say you're not like other guys. You're maybe even worse!"she pushed him away, trying to get herself away as much as possible.

Nevertheless, there was no way that Mayura could've fully gotten rid of the tall man.

He still stood near her, too close to be honest, and she could feel it too.

The assistant knew she wasn't safe from his words or emotions, she could sense them, she knew what he would say next.

"Well I don't know what to say to that."

Ironically enough that was Hawk Moth's sentence she predicted he'd say alongside a deep, depressed sigh, before beginning again in a low tone: "I can't argue that I am the best man on this planet while I stand in front of you dressed as some supervillain, but I can assure you that I'm doing this for love, and I'm willing to-"

"It's not me you're fighting for. It's your wife!" May tried to keep her voice as loud as possible, but unfortunately for her, each of those words sounded weaker and weaker.

With every breath she took she seemed to have lost more and more of her confidence, the woman wasn't even strong enough to push the villian further away from herself as he walked a bit closer.

"Yes but-"

"Don't say your feelings changed because they haven't!" Nathalie cried.

Deep down those words hurt her to say more than anything else, but she had to pretend that she wasn't on the verge of giving in to her enemy.

"I'm just easier to get than someone who would need to be brought back from the dead! But I won't give in. Go back home! Your family is waiting for you!"

At last the dark haired woman could take a breath to calm down after all that draining yelling.

She didn't expect that she would get this mad at him in such a short time, but Mayura knew she couldn't have allowed herself to believe whatever type of 'I love you' bullshit her partner was about to say.

Nathalie had to resist him and all those alluring thoughts.

However, as much as she tried to pour all of her strength into hating him, the situation was tense and only got worse from there.

The next words of Hawk Moth made the assistant more worked up than before.

"Why are you so damn-...heartless and stubborn!?" The man spat, and the second which Nathalie heard the word 'heartless' her whole heart shattered.

"Excuse me?!?!" Her voice mumbled in agony.

"Why won't you believe what I say!" The villain was too careless to notice how unwell the woman in front of him looked, instead he simply continued arguing on about his stupid point; "You can even sense my feelings! So why don't you understand that I think of you as more than just a partner in crime-"

"-Because you're a criminal!" She interrupted him "And you have a family, so don't try to convince me that you suddenly want to pick me, an unknown person you met a few days ago over the woman you promised to marry, had a family with, and probably much more."

"May I need to let go and-"

"-Well, with all due respect I won't be your way to 'let go' of your wife."

By now Mayura had turned her back to him and opened the window through which Hawk Moth came in.

Then, while the designer stared at this strange sight in confusion, the assistant gathered every last bit of her power to say:
"Now go home Hawky!"

"Seriously?" With a strong tone of disgust present in his voice that was all he could respond.

"Seriously! I don't want you here!" Mayura's intimidatingly red eyes pierced the tall man who had not much of a choice but to make his way over to the window and squeeze himself out of the apartment.

He didn't want to, in fact Hawk Moth felt that his partner's attitude as of right now was very much unacceptable and ignorant.

Of course, he didn't take into account how utterly ridiculous he was acting too.

Nonetheless, after a few seconds of leaving Mayura's apartment totally fed up, Gabriel looked back to her;

The window was still open and the villain woman was still standing there, watching as Hawk Moth turned to her for one last time.

"You're very heartless." He spat. "And I guess it's better if we part ways because you just can't seem to comprehend that I can love someone else."

"Get lost!" The assistant shook her head in order to immediately forget her partner's words. "I never even wanted to be your friend! You're the heartless one here by saying all of this while knowing damn well how badly the powers of the miraculous make me feel!"

Gabriel didn't even bother to respond to that, he only rolled his eyes in annoyance, scoffed while giving her a disgusted glare and then jumped away into the darkness of the night.

To be continued-

Oh I'm so sorry this is terribly written.
