"HOW DO YOU KNOW THAT DUUSU?!!!" Nathalie exclaimed loudly which she shouldn't have.
The woman only realized a few second after she yelled that she could've been heard by the man who she was hiding from.
Instantly, she hurried to cover her mouth so nothing more would be heard, but while she wasn't speaking, her little friend was:
"How could I not know?" The peacock smirked.
"I'm the kwami of Emotion, I know everyone's every emotion ever."
"I-I-...so he likes me?" The assistant whispered curiously to which Duusu's smirk only widened.
"Likes?" The kwami chuckled. "Please! He has an obvious crush on you."
"Seriously?"
"Oh yes! He just doesn't want to admit it, and you also don't want to admit that you like him! You two are the same."
"Duusu!" Nathalie whined, her eyebrows furrowed and her eyes narrowed in anger, the woman's stare was louder than the painful noise of nails on a chalkboard.
"Stop it!"
"Just admit it Miss, and I'll stop."
The assistant deeply sighed to the sound of that.
There were many reasons which restricted her from being able to admit such things;
Firstly, her feelings towards multiple people had been heavily influenced by the peacock miraculous, therefore, she couldn't have known if what 'love' she was feeling was pure, or just a side effect of the broken brooch.
Secondly, Nathalie was aware Hawk Moth had someone else who he loved, in fact, the supervillain said to have had a whole family.
If those reasons wouldn't have been more than enough, she also dreamed to escape Paris and change her identity, because of this, loving whoever the villain man was would've been absolutely impossible.
Explaining all this to Duusu was more than complicated, even the tiny kwami felt quite overwhelmed by the end of it.
She also felt unexplainably sorry for ruining her owner's life and causing her to be sick as well as emotionally unstable, but she couldn't help herself either.
Ever since the peacock miraculous had been damaged Duusu too has had terrible mood swings and painful sicknesses.
They were basically suffering together and neither of them could be saved.
"I'm sorry." The little kwami's trembling voice whispered. "You're the best owner I've had so far Miss Nathalie, and I'm very sorry for hurting you."
"Oh Duusu." The dark haired woman smiled as her heart felt warmed. "I wish we could fix this for both of our benefits."
"Me too, if it wasn't that terribly risky."
"What?" The assistant questioned as she'd heard something her miniature friend has never said before.
"If it wasn't that terribly risky."
This immediately caught Nathalie's attention, since by phrasing herself in such a way, the kwami basically indicated that there was a secret way.
So the woman almost instantly wondered:
"Is there even a way at all?"
"Well Miss..." Duusu couldn't lie to her.
She had been told never to reveal this information to a human, except the small peacock knew she had to make an exception with her owner now.
They were both dying, but maybe with the assistant's help the two of them could fix it, or at least that's what Duusu hoped.
"There is a way." She went on. "Though it's too much of a risk and it's utterly complex." The kwmai made sure to warn her owner. "We'd probably get even more hurt in the process of doing it."
Yet this didn't break Nathalie's spirit.
Regardless of all the life threatening risks, she wanted to know it.
"I want to hear it!" The woman said with a loud, demanding voice.
Now, all the promises to 'stay quiet' and 'make sure Hawk Moth wouldn't hear her' had been completely forgotten by the assistant.
She was speaking with her normal tone, no longer whispering.
"Miss Nathalie it's dangerous!" The kwami also ignored her owner's instructions of talking in a low voice.
"I don't care Duusu!"
"Fine." The peacock sighed.
She seemed to have a defeated expression at first, though in reality Duusu wanted to tell Nathalie this piece of information.
"I will tell you." The kwmai made sure to overdramatize every one of her words since Duusu was sneaky and wanted to ask for a favor from her owner.
"However you must do something for me in return..."
"Alright!"
It seemed like a fair trade at first, so the woman agreed.
Little did she know, she had fallen into Duusu's evil trap.
"....you must let Hawk moth inside!"
Nathalie's eyes widened in fear to the sound of that.
"Duusu this isn't fair!" The assistant gasped.
She eagerly wanted to know the way to fix the broken peacock miraculous, but she felt completely disgusted by the idea of letting her villian partner inside her home.
"You're manipulating me!" The woman argued.
"Oh no!" Duusu also couldn't have stayed calm, she too argued back. "You're the one manipulating my powers in order to be Mayura, so that makes this favor totally fair! Secondly, I'm sure you'll enjoy him."
"Ewwww." Another wave of disgust hit Nathalie while just thinking about her little friend's words.
She tried her best to not think or miss the Moth man, so she had to act repelled by any idea of him.
"You're disgusting!" The assistant spat. "don't say it like that!"
"Mhm sure." Duusu rolled her eyes sarcastically. "Act all you want, but I know how you truly feel."
"Shut up!"
"If you don't let him in then I can't tell you how to fix us."
"Ugh Duusu you're so mean!" Nathalie stood up feeling embarrassed. "I hate you!" She yelled before stomping out of her closet and making her way over to those windows that Hawk Moth was knocking on very loudly.
Nathalie wanted to run back to her hiding place, but it was probably too late.
The man had most likely already seen her, therefore there wouldn't have been a good enough excuse to make her be able to get out of this situation.
This was all so overwhelming to the assistant that for a moment she had to hide behind her couch as she couldn't bring herself to open the windows yet.
With a deep breath the dark haired woman sighed hopelessly;
"Duusu I think you're more in love with him then I am!"
"Well." The peacock thought about it for a second before answering: "his kwami is nice."
"His wha-HOW DO YOU KNOW HIS KWAMI?!?!"
"We met before of course. When we weren't...stolen by you two!"
"Oh." Nathalie's tone quickly quieted down in an apologetic manner.
She felt quite guilty for taking the kwmai away from her past life and instead using her for what powers the peacock had.
"I'm sorry Duusu...I-..."
"No need to apologize, you're actually the best owner I've had...but I do miss Nooroo and my friends."
"Nooroo?" The woman hadn't heard that before "That's the kwamis name?"
"Yes." Duusu tilted her head down towards the ground a little.
"And you like him?"
Suddenly everything went quiet.
Even the kwamis breathing had stopped and Nathalie noticed that her friend obviously distanced herself from her.
This was very unusual for the peacock, she seemed to be acting embarrassed and shy, something the dark haired woman had never seen before.
"You like him?" The assistant asked once more again to which a tiny, weak whisper could be heard;
"As a friend!"
"Right." Nathalie rolled her eyes "Sure thing."
She could obviously tell that there was something Duusu was hiding.
That something most definitely being a big crush.
However, in that exact moment that the assistant would've wanted to smirk at her little friend, she remembered a fact that caused her to hesitate a little;
"Wait." Nathalie looked at Duusu confused. "Aren't kwamis not meant to fall in love or be able to do so?"
"W-well-...y-yes-..." the tiny creature almost sobbed.
By now she had covered her face with her small hands and turned away from her owner totally.
"...But...I'm broken..." the kwami's voice broke too "...and that also mean that he can't feel anything for me in return which hurts even more!"
Now Duusu began crying uncontrollably, her voice voice shrieking and her tears falling like a waterfall.
"Oh Duusu!" Nathalie couldn't help but feel terrible for her friend.
She had been through so much, and this was simply heartbreakingly unfair.
The assistant didn't even know how to calm her kwami down, all she could do was try to whisper:
"I'm sure he loves you back! You're an adorable little peacock who steals everyone's heart!"
"Thank you miss, but even if I'm the most amazing kwami out there, it can't make a kwami fall in love with me because we are simply not meant to do that." Duusu tried her best to not fall into tears while speaking,
but it was almost impossible.
She had to take several breaks in order to be able to continue with her sentence.
"I'm doomed!" The kwami cried. "All I can do is help you be Mayura and hope that at least you and Hawk Moth fall in love. That's as close as I'll get to Nooroo's love."
"Oh..."Nathalie's heart ached seeing her best friend in such a devastating state.
She wouldn't have imagined ever that the little peacock was hurting this much.
"So that's why you've been trying to get me and Hawk Moth together?"
"Y-yes." Duusu admitted with a crushed look.
To be continued-
I feel like this was badddd aaaa
