"I-..." Nathalie froze "I-I a-am h-here because-"

"Are you two sleeping together?!?!" Audrey screamed. "Are you together, AGAIN?!"

"No!" The butler interrupted "Nathalie simply came over because-...b-because she needed to give something to Gabriel about a fashion show and I had it."

"Bullshit!" The designer woman laughed "You couldn't care less about fashion Armand, I know you." Audrey looked at the man and rolled her eyes sarcastically before turning her head in the dark haired woman's direction "And you Nathalie..." the designer lady scoffed after she laid eyes on the assistant. "...you also don't look like you're very in-touch with style, therefore, I doubt what Armand was saying happened to be the truth."

"I-" Jean would've wanted to argue, but for the manyth time his boss shut him up;

"No more lies!" Audrey emphasized with a loud voice. "I don't even care why she's here, just don't shout like before! I could hear it from the goddamn reception."

"Sorry." Nathalie and Armand apologized at the same time.

With this they thought that Audrey's speech of humiliating them would be over, but they couldn't have been more wrong.

As the woman made her way over to the door she took one last look at the 'couple', then, with an intimidating grin she pierced them both.

In this moment Jean could already sense that she'd say something utterly embarrassing, however, he had no chance to stop her.

"Do me one favor." Audrey began "just fuck quietly."

"We aren't-" but before the butler could've finished his sentence the door slammed shut with a loud bang.

After the noise from the slam faded away, the two adults who remained in the apartment shared an awkward look.

"Wow, she's-"

"A lot to handle." Jean finished Nathalie's sentence.

She nodded in agreement which eased the tension, slightly, as well as encouraged the man to say: "I'm sorry for this humiliating experience, but I can't do much about it, unfortunately."

The butler's eyes moved down to stare at the floor in shame.

He felt so stupid and embarrassed by his boss, to be honest, even the dark haired woman couldn't blame him.

All she could do was feel sympathetic.

So with a tiny bit of courage gathered up in her, Nathalie placed her hand on the man's shoulder reassuringly, and said:

"Don't worry." The assistant returned an understanding little smile. "She's almost just as arrogant as Gabriel."

Suddenly, the butler's expression lightened up to the sweet gesture of his ex.

"Really?" He chuckled. "I thought he was the quiet type of man."

"Well yes, that is true until something isn't the way he would like it to be. Then he gets grumpy and makes sure to ruin everyone else's mood too."

"At least he doesn't make awkward comments like Audrey just did."

"At least." Nathalie didn't even notice how much she was giggling by now.

In fact, they both were.

Happy tears emerged in their eyes as the jokes of their superiors were becoming funnier and funnier.

The two adults haven't experienced this much 'fun' in quite some years, that's why once they calmed down with the laughs, they stared at each other astonished.

"Wow." The dark haired woman broke the silence. "Those were funny."

"Indeed." Said Jean while smiling at the assistant in front of him more than ever.

Now he just missed her even better.

No one ever made him laugh like this.

Nathalie could relate too; she wasn't laughing much around others like she was now, however, she didn't want to admit that.

So the atmosphere around the two adults turned a bit awkward yet again; they quieted down and both of them avoided eye contact.

Nathalie would've thought that like before this would cause the two of them to suffer in silence for many painful minutes, except, she was greatly mistaken.

Before she knew it the butler's expression lit up:

"Nathalie." He said her name with such enthusiasm that even the woman's eyes widened in a surprised manner;

"Yes?"

"Do you wish to go?"

This question of his caught the assistant very much off guard.

She became uneasy as she didn't know what to answer.

Part of the woman wanted to leave since she wasn't fully allowing herself to trust the man because of how strange he acted previously, yet another part of her stupid and foolish brain that wasn't thinking right told her to stay.

"I-..." Nathalie was lost for words "Armand I-"

"You?"

"I-I don't k-know."

In the meantime of Nathalie being hesitant and unable to choose weather she should stay or leave her ex'a house, her boss, Gabriel was doing much less stressful things;

He had just taken a shower and cleaned all evidence of him as Hawk Moth falling into a dumpster.

So the designer was in a good mood while feeling all clean and refreshed.

Almost as if everything would've been perfect.

"Strange." He uttered, taking a careful seat on the side of his bed. "Very strange."

"What is it master?" The little floating kwami beside the tall man wondered.

"Nooroo I feel as if everything would be so...peaceful right now, it feels wrong." Gabriel sighed deeply. "I think I am forgetting something really importan-"

"Mayura?" The purple thing interrupted, and just like that all the things the designer was forgetting came back to his mind.

"Mayura!" He exclaimed happily. "You're right, I need to go back, I must find her!"

Gabriel didn't even hesitate any further;

He quickly said the transformation words and swiftly made his way outside of the house by jumping out of the window.

Now, with his mind racing as well as his whole self racing to get to Mayura's apartment as fast as possible, Hawk Moth was making his way from the Agreste mansion, above Le Grand Paris, beside the Eiffel Tower to the small place where the woman lived.

However, while the supervillain was jumping high above the hotel (Le Grand Paris) he spotted some movement down at the entrance of it; more specifically, he recognized familiar face there.

Nathalie.

His assistant was walking out of the entrance with another person who appeared to be a man dressed in a suit.

Hawk Moth didn't know his employee had such an interesting night life, in fact, he never would've imagined the dark haired woman to be such an outgoing type of girl.

Nevertheless, now what he was seeing changed his opinion of Nathalie a lot.

In addition, if spying like this wouldn't have been bad enough; Gabriel was also the curious kind of man, therefore he couldn't have just watched from a distance as his assistant had a scandalous encounter with a man in the middle of the night, the designer had to get closer.

Carefully, he jumped a little lower onto some rooftops before sneaking into someone's balcony on the hotel and poking his head out from there to face towards the street.

In that moment that he took another, this time closer look at the man, Hawk Moth realized who that was.

Jean.

The butler of Audrey as he liked to call him.

Gabriel knew that man and his employees had a shared past, but tonight he couldn't even attempt to imagine what the two were doing out together.

Maybe a date?

Maybe just...nothing?

Hawk Moth pondered through all the options, yet in the end he was still clueless which one it really was.

There was nothing significant which he could've analyzed in the two individuals's body language or gestures because they simply appeared to be awkwardly trying to talk to one another.

Regardless of not having much clue on what was going on, the designer had fun, or at least that was until he didn't get hit with a broom on the back of his head.

"AAAAAAA" A bloodcurdling scream echoed through the whole of Paris.

It was so loud that the grey haired man became almost paralyzed and was too afraid to move away, instead, Gabriel just closed his eyes and covered his ears while begging for mercy;

"I-I-I have no bad intentions-" the villain was about to say, but once again, another hit striked him.

"ITS HAWK MOTH!!! HELP!! SOMEONE HELP!!"

Everyone, including Nathalie and Jean began to look up to that one balcony on which this chaos was happening on, and when both adults saw who were involved in the trouble, they gasped.

"AUDREY?!"

"HAWK MOTH?!"

They shared a terrified look.

"I-I t-think I n-need to go-" both people apologized before running their own separate ways.

The assistant sprinted back home to make sure she could lock all of her door and windows.

This way Hawk Moth couldn't be looking for 'Mayura' and as much as Nathalie's 'escape' plan was destroyed by now, she could still try to make the most of it.

All she needed was a little privacy to think.

So she needed to be home in her apartment before the tall villain would be.

In the meantime, Jean ran back into Le Grand Paris and hurried his steps towards his superior's room in order to 'save' her from that Moth man everyone in the city feared.

To be continued-
