"Hey baby?" Nao mumbled something unintelligible and Jin smiled. Her hair was scattered across the pillow, her t-shirt was bunched up on her back, exposing part of her waist. His gaze drifted down her bare leg to the blanket she had tucked between her legs, but one end of it covered the more racy parts of her body, leaving the picture to his imagination. His gaze darted up as her hair stirred and a gray ball of fur appeared between the strands, accusingly at him for interrupting their sleep.
Jin smirked and nuzzled the kitten, who seemed to respond, licking and snuggling back under Nao's hair, leaving Jin to examine her in peace. The stitches on her wrists had been removed a few days ago and the bandages no longer hid the scars, which were red and growing in a slightly jagged thin line. Jin felt guilty, if he hadn't left her alone, maybe her wrists wouldn't look like this now.
The more time passed, the more his conversation with Yoongi made sense to him and he couldn't help but wonder if it would work out between them. Nao had started to relax in front of the boys as well, except for Namjoon, of course, but that too would happen with time. And yet, it was becoming increasingly clear that she didn't particularly like big company, so he had asked that if the boys wanted to see her, they wouldn't all be on her head at once.
The insecurity in her eyes most of the time just killed him. Beautiful women were usually confident, knew they were attracting attention and reaped all the benefits of it, but not Nao. She was shy, worried, restless around other people, but with him she began to behave more and more calmly, which gave him hope. "Baby?" he smiled and sat on the bed next to her, pulling the covers up over her leg so she wouldn't feel uncomfortable that he had seen more than she would let him on right now.
"Nao baby?" the nickname had flowed easily from his lips since day one, but then it made her go wild, until in the last few days it had become a signal that meant Jin was somewhere around her and she was visibly relaxing, a sure sign that she had started to build trust in him. "Mmmm" she turned and rubbed her eyes, opening only one slightly. "I have to go out with the boys, if you need anything, Tina will be here early in the morning" Tina was the girl who worked as their housekeeper, but Nao somehow refused to communicate with her, looking at her suspiciously.
"What time is it?" Nao asked and sat up yawning, Jin smiled at the way she was rubbing her eyes making funny faces trying to open her eyes. "It's 3am, I just wanted to let you know I won't be here so you don't have to worry when you wake up in the morning" he gently pushed her shoulders back against the pillows and tucked the covers around her again, making sure she would be fine warm.
"Be careful and take care" she murmured and pulled Pooh to her chest, falling back into sleep. Jin stared at her again, her words affecting him in a way he couldn't explain, but he was definitely pleased that she might be worried about him. "I promise" he leaned down and lightly kissed her on the head, making sure she didn't feel it, and then he left the bedroom, his whole demeanor and posture changed. Tonight they were going "riding" as Jimin liked to call their missions.
They had a suspicion that the spy they were looking for was one of their men, who was working undercover in a harborside bar and apparently considered himself shrewd enough to pass information to both sides. Almost everything led to him, as well as the fact that Woobin had been a frequent visitor there for the past four months. If the two factions clashed, it would get bloody.
"Is she okay?" Namjoon walked beside him towards the door. "Yeah sleep" Jin nodded blankly. "It's going to be fun, according to my guy, Woobin was there until an hour ago, but some of his people are still at the bar, as is our guy" Jin nodded and Taehyung sat next to him in the passenger seat. "Take it" he handed Jin a wireless earpiece which was immediately placed in place. "Jungkook and Hoseok are already there watching the bar, Jimin and Yoongi will try to track down Woobin" Namjoon explained and Jin started the engine, driving in the direction of the bar.
Bangtan were a group of well behaved seven men who considered each other more like brothers than friends, they shared both good and bad and it was always fun to be around them if you were in their circle of friends. With their enemies, however, they were something entirely different. The ruthless manner in which they dealt with their problems could not fail to go unnoticed or to instill fear. This in large portions mainly applied to Jin, Yoongi and Jimin, who seemed to carry the devil in their hearts and cold-bloodedly use their skills to sow death.
The moment Bangtan entered the bar, there was indeed a commotion. Woobin's men attacked them instantly before Dean and Namjoon could get to the spy, which only solidified their suspicions as to who it was. "Take cover!" Taehyung yelled and he and Namjoon stood on either side of the door. Jin, for his part, moved forward and turned a table, taking cover behind it. "I want him alive!" Namjoon screamed from the door and Jin gritted his teeth.
"Wait your turn bro, it's mine!" he hissed into the receiver and heard Namjoon growl on the other end. "Jungkook, with Hoseok block the back entrance!" Taehyung's voice was heard and Hoseok's confirmation that it was already done. Namjoon rolled over to Jin and sat next to him as they both reloaded their weapons. "We need to pin them down and catch the bastard who betrayed my wife" Jin muttered and Namjoon suddenly gave him a strange look, but Jin didn't notice, rising over the edge of the table, resuming the shooting.
"Hyung, more are coming!" Jin and Namjoon looked at each other and then turned to the door that Taehyung was shooting from. Behind him were the headlights of at least three other cars. "Damn Tae, get out of there!" Taehyung glanced at them briefly, then behind him and ducked in time to avoid the bullet, but it went through the thin planks of the wall and into Namjoon's shoulder, who had turned, straightened slightly, and was firing at Woobin's men in the inside of the bar.
He collapsed with a groan and Jin stood up in his place as Taehyung moved to the inside of the wall, almost entirely from a distance but hidden by the table Namjoon and Jin were hiding behind. "We have to get Namjoon out!" Taehyung demanded and Jin crouched down again. "Jungkook, Hoseok, go around and pin them on both sides" Jin ordered, nudging Namjoon forward to look at his shoulder. "The bullet's still in there, dammit!" he nodded again, firing a few bullets to keep Woobin's men at bay while Taehyung did the same to those outside the door.
"I'm fine," Namjoon hissed, but Jin shook his head. "My wife will kill me if I let her brother die" he looked around, most of Woobin's people inside were dead. His gaze accidentally fell on the man they were looking for - Kuga, who was currently escaping through the window. The bastard thought he could betray his wife, go against Bangtan and get out alive! Jin smirked and stood up, changing the magazine, he pulled out his second gun and not caring that bullets were flying around him, he pointed both barrels at the man who was hanging on the windowsill and started firing.
"Jin!" Namjoon tried to get up, but several bullets above his head knocked him back to his place. The headlights of the cars in front of the bar went off one by one as Jungkook and Hoseok emptied their automatic rifles at them, aiming at everything and nothing. Taehyung was shooting from the inside of the door and Jin was stepping into the bar, deftly changing his refills on the fly.
"Namjoon, the back entrance" Namjoon slipped and went around the other side of the table, watching Jin who was blankly spinning around, aiming his muzzle and firing in all directions. "Freaky bastard" he muttered and stood back to back with him, aiming his guns. "Namjoon?" the two emptied magazine after magazine, slowly moving towards the back entrance. "What?" his brother-in-law snarled in annoyance and pushed Jin away, crouching to avoid another bullet.
Almost to the back door, the two looked at each other briefly. "I'm in love with your sister" Jin smirked and pushed a startled Namjoon out, looking at the mess left after their bar shooting. Satisfied, he began to reload, but a noise caught his attention and he looked up. "Taehyung!" as if time stopped for Jin, he raised the loaded gun and fired, Taehyung turned to look at him and his eyes widened, his body flew to the side with the second shot and he fell flat on his face behind the overturned table.
A third bullet flew past and grazed Jin's neck, he swore and jumped after Namjoon. "Tae, the back entrance, dammit!" he roared and looked at Namjoon who was running past the bar, circling him. "I'm coming" Taehyung replied and Jin followed Namjoon, seeing Tae stand up and run towards him. "Help?" Namjoon stood next to Hoseok, who just shrugged. There was almost nothing left of the four cars in front of the bar, painful moans could be heard and the gunfire was slowly dying down.
"Kuga?" came Jungkook's voice, which was not visible from behind the smoke screen. "Dead" reported Jin. "The others got away" Hoseok sighed, shaking his head, smiling at the punctured cars and the corpses of the people who had tried to get out of them."We've done what we came for, although I wanted to question him" Jin muttered, putting away his weapons. "Let me look" he stood behind Namjoon and opened his jacket and shirt to look at the wound. "Are you sure?" Namjoon asked and Jin hummed in question. "That you're in love with her, and it's not just an infatuation?" Jin's hands froze and he sighed. "I thought you knew me, I'm not in the habit of playing with women" Namjoon nodded and Jin continued his work.
"It's not deep, but I'll call Dr. Sang" he walked past Namjoon and surveyed the bloody scene. "This won't stay like this" he shook his head and took a deep breath, letting it out noisily. "Ahem, we angered the beast" Taehyung chuckled, joining the small group. Jungkook cut through the fog, appearing with a rifle on his shoulder and a big bunny grin. "But it was fun" he chuckled and he and Jin shook their heads. "You all are sick minds" Hoseok looked at him with a raised eyebrow and Jin gave him a "what" look pouting.
"Let's go home before Nao wakes up, she doesn't like Tina at all" Jin walked towards their cars and his eyebrows shot up at the bullet marks on his. "Great, new repair" he muttered and got into the driver's seat. Taehyung announced that he was leaving with Hoseok and Jungkook, leaving Jin and Namjoon alone. "When?" Namjoon asked, removing the wireless earpiece from his ear. "I don't know, a few days, weeks, the first night, the moment I saw her, somewhere in between" answered Jin calmly.
Nao sat up and rubbed her eyes, pricking up her ears. The noise that had woken her came from downstairs and she furrowed her brows, getting off the bed and heading for the door. She stopped at the living room door and her eyes widened in horror. "Jin.." he turned at the sound of her trembling voice and grinned. "Sorry, baby, did we wake you up?" she gaped at him and her eyes filled with tears. "Hey hey" Jin pulled her closer and cupped her face. "Why are these tears?" she blinked and pointed at his neck. "You're hurt" Nao sobbed softly and he shrugged, grinning.
"Just a scratch," he reassured her, but Nao didn't seem to believe him. "Namjoon is much worse" Nao bit her lip, looking down. "Baby, he's your brother and he loves you" Jin whispered so only Nao could hear him. "Today he risked his life to find the traitor that led to the revelation of your true identity" she didn't answer and he sighed lifting her face. "Give him a chance Nao, Namjoon has been feeling the pain of being away from his sister since you were born, you can't be mad at him for trying to protect you?" Jin gently smiled and wiped away the new batch of tears.
"He needs you, baby" Nao sighed and nodded, biting her trembling lower lip. Jin pulled away slightly and looked and locked onto Namjoon, who was sitting with his back to her as Dr. Sang worked on his wound. She looked uncertainly at Jin and he gave her a smiling nod. "It's okay, baby, you can be mad at him but don't push him away" her gaze returned to Namjoon who was just getting up trying to move his already bandaged shoulder.
He turned and their eyes met. Namjoon froze in place, his breath catching in his throat. "Go baby, he needs you" Jin urged her and something seemed to be unleashed in Nao. She sobbed and ran, jumping on the startled Namjoon's neck and burying her face in his bare chest. "Nao.." he looked uncertainly at the smiling Jin and then down at his sobbing sister. "You ruined my life and I'm mad at you for it" Nao sobbed and Namjoon gritted his teeth. "But you are my brother, and if you risk your life for me again, I will personally kill you!" she screamed, looking up at him.
"I...I'm sorry?" Nao snorted and buried her face in his neck again. Namjoon lightly wrapped his arms around her waist, unsure if he was even allowed to hug her. "Is this how you hug your sister after not seeing her for 24 years?" Jin asked curiously and Namjoon looked up at him with raised eyebrows. "You're such an idiot" Jin shook his head."For God's sake, hug your sister, you jerk!" Hoseok rolled his eyes and Namjoon held Nao tightly to his chest. "I'm sorry, Nao, for everything, I'm so sorry" tears rolled down his cheeks as well, his heart beating wildly now that for the first time he was truly hugging his little sister he had only watched from afar.
