"Mr. Kim!" Jin leaned against the door frame, hands on his chest, looking at his former housekeeper with cold hatred as her gaze sparkled with hope. "Mr. Kim, please tell them to let me go, I haven't done anything wrong!" Jin raised an eyebrow and pushed away from the door frame, approaching the woman tied to the chair. "Nothing bad, huh?" he leaned over her, placing his hands on the armrests of the chair, and looked her straight in the eyes. She truly believed she had done nothing.
"You tried to kill my wife, poison her, and you almost succeeded" Jin reminded her calmly and in an even voice, and Tina's face instantly changed at the mere mention of Nao. "That bitch doesn't deserve you Mr. Kim, she belongs in hell, not next to you!" the girl hissed with such hatred that Jin's throat tightened in disgust. "And what makes you better than her?" he tried to keep his expression indifferent but it was hard, the desire to kill her was so great that his fingers dug into the chair and his knuckles turned white.
"I love you, I have always loved you, I was by your side before her, I will stay by your side after her!" Tina nodded confidently and Jin's eyebrows shot up. "You're wrong here, Tina" a confused expression appeared on the girl's face and she blinked in surprise. Jin watched as her pupils dilated as the realization that he hadn't come to set her free crept into the back of her madness-clouded mind. "So you choose her!" her voice sounded more like a scolding scream than a desperate plea for help.
"Did you expect anything else?" Jin asked coolly and Tina nodded curtly. "I'm sorry to disappoint you then, but you see, firstly, I love my wife and secondly. With her, at least I'll be sure that the children she will bear will be mine and not one of my bodyguards" Tina took a deep breath and looked guiltily at her lap. "I...I did it for you, Mr. Kim, please..." she raised her watery eyes and Jin wondered for a moment exactly how crazy you'd have to be to think that by betraying someone you were doing them a favor, especially if you claim to love that someone.
For a moment he even felt sorry for her. Tina has always stood silently by his side, quietly fulfilling her duties. But just at the thought of what he and Nao had been through for the past two weeks because of her, that regret melted like a snowflake on a flame and turned back into icy hatred. "You will never be on Kim Nao's level, Tina, you will never be as innocent, nor as beautiful, nor will I ever love you, let alone let you approach me or enter my bed. You you're nothing more than a venal whore" he watched with satisfaction as his words seeped into her mind and stood up, smirking.
"You know, a creature as low as you is not worth getting my hands on" he took a step back and nodded at the man behind him. "You will never be good enough to even kill you personally." the man behind him stepped forward and the sound of a bullet being loaded into the trigger of a gun rang out in the dark dungeon where Tina had spent the last almost three weeks. Her eyes widened almost to the point of popping out of their sockets.
"Ah, one more thing" Jin tilted his head slightly. "While you're burning in hell, try to remember what I hate most about claiming to know and love me. Then you'll understand why your life isn't worth a damn to me" he turned and walked towards the exit . "Lie" was the sigh of her last breath, before a shot rang out and the room smelled of gunpowder and blood. Jin stopped for a second and slightly tilted his head, but he didn't turn around, he didn't feel an iota of pity for Tina, if only for the fact that she had betrayed him out of love.
Each of them had at least one weakness and each of them was evil incarnate in their own right. The world was never just black and white, so were people. Kim Seokjin, the oldest, the calmest of them all and the most - dear, he could bear a lot as far as he was concerned. But when someone hurt his family and friends, he had no mercy and the monster in him woke up. And Tina had hurt his wife-family as well as her brother-friend, the combination of the two had killed any chance that she would even be listened to by him. No matter what she had said to him and what he had replied, the moment she had betrayed him ,she had ceased to exist for him and for the world, and how can you regret something that does not exist.
This laughter awakened in him something that could not be described, as a dying person discovered a life-giving source that not only brought him back to life, but also showed him its meaning and the reason to continue fighting. That smile melted his being and made him weak and at the same time gave him the strength to carry the world on his shoulders, as long as her gaze continued to shine and those incredibly endearing dimples winked at him.
They say love is pain, and it sure is. If it is unrequited or shared, but with the wrong person. However, this love was not painful, it was tender, warm, kind and caressing, it gave strength to meet difficulties, to face everything and everyone, it was a catalyst that caused a smile when you wake up in the morning and another when at night, going to bed, you feel the warmth of the body of your beloved, who found happiness and peace only in your arms.
That's exactly what Nao was to Jin. His only and irreplaceable destiny, the woman who was born to awaken in him that male instinct to protect the family nest, to fight against anyone who tried to take away what was his, to make him nest and to feel ready to leave something and someone behind. And now, as he watched his wife, Tia, and their new housekeeper, Mrs. Choi, a woman in her late forties, laugh about something that probably didn't concern him at all while they prepared some sort of dessert, every once in a while one of them glanced at the dinner , roaring on the stove, the sense of wholeness just took over his whole being.
Namjoon had made a great choice. Mrs. Choi acted motherly with Nao, which made her feel relaxed and at ease around the older woman, which was all Jin wanted. "Can I try?" he hugged Nao around the waist from behind and rested his chin on her shoulder, earning a sweet look from Mrs. Choi and a raised eyebrow from Tia. "Sure" Nao took a spoon and took a bite of the cream, but Jin grabbed her wrist and made her put the spoon down, he then cupped her fingers and dipped her index finger into the cream, then raised it to his lips and sucked it, licking it.
"Jin...." Nao blushed so much that Tia burst out laughing, Jin chuckled and Mrs. Choi mumbled something about perfect mates and true love and some arrows. "It's delicious" he hummed approvingly and kissed Nao on the cheek. "I have some work at the office, have you taken your meds?" Nao nodded, still as red as a tomato, and Jin smiled. "Call me for dinner, I don't want to miss dessert" he winked at Tia, who was fully aware that he wasn't referring to actual dessert and kissed Nao on the cheek again, smiled at Mrs. Chao and left for his office, taking one last look at his wife.
"I'm sorry, Jin sometimes don't think that he could embarrass someone" Nao apologized for her husband's behavior. "Apologizing for being in love is like apologizing for breathing, honey" Mrs. Choi smiled and Nao blushed again. "Just look at her, she's been married for almost a year, and at the mere mention of the word love, she blushes like a boiled crab" Tia burst out laughing again and Mrs. Choi shook her head.
"Jin?" a knock at the door made him look up from the folder he was frowning over. "Come in?" Tia poked her head through the door. "Dinner is ready, we're just waiting for you" he smiled and nodded, hoping Nao would call him so they could steal a few minutes before the dinner, which, at Nao's insistence, everyone would attend. He put the folder down and stood up. "Are you okay?" Tia suddenly asked and Jin looked at her in surprise. "Why shouldn't I be fine" he walked around the desk and walked towards her, unbuttoning the top buttons of his shirt.
"The last few weeks and with everything that's happened, we haven't really had a chance to talk" Tia explained and blocked his way so he wouldn't run away from their conversation. "I'm fine Tia, as long as Nao is fine and safe I'll be fine too" he sighed and she raised an eyebrow. "Nice try, but that might still fool Nao, but with me, you have to be more resourceful, Kim Seokjin!" Tia snapped and he looked at her with a small smile.
Before the appearance of Nao in his life, as the only woman in the group, Tia was a confidant and source of useful advice for everyone. So, Jin wasn't at all surprised that she was reading him like an open book. "Okay, what do you want to hear?" he asked, crossing his arms over his chest, ready to answer according to all the rules of good interrogation. "Truth" Tia answered simply and tilted her head expectantly. "The truth about what?" Tia growled not very decently and Jin's eyebrows shot up.
"Fine, fine" he shook his head and surrendered, either way, Tia wasn't going to let him get away with it until he heard what he wanted. "I'm scared Tia, I'm so scared I'm worried I'll make a mistake that could cost my friends dearly" his eyes darkened and he lowered his head thoughtfully. "Do you really think the decision to attack Woobin is the right one?" Tia asked and he looked at her. "Until now, we've only been taking hits, fighting back enough to show that we can fight and as much as possible to not let him play his horse as he wants" Seokjin nodded.
"That doesn't answer my question, Jin?" she snapped and he rolled his eyes. "Individually, we each have our own little army and strength, but together, and if we're smart enough, Woobin doesn't stand a chance. Do I think it's right? Me, Namjoon, and Tia lost our parents because of him, revenge never comes alone ,but now we're not doing it for that, but to protect the families we're creating, you, the baby,Nao,our future children. That's worth fighting to the last drop of blood. So,yeah,it's right" Tia looked Jin testily then smiled and nodded. "Just make sure my husband will be with me when I give birth to his son" Jin nodded seriously and she sighed. "Let's have dinner" he smiled and followed her into the kitchen.
"Is everything alright?" Jin leaned down and gently touched Nao's lips before sitting next to her, cupping her fingers in his hand on her thigh. "It's perfect my love" he looked around the table, his friends, their family, it was definitely worth fighting for. Watching everyone talking, laughing and having fun, hearing the gentle voice of Nao, who even though she was eating, didn't let go of his hand, he swore to himself and his life that he would do anything to keep this which they had.
