Mission Impossible- August - Reunion.
I knew he'd show.
Whispers through the grape vine had told me so, and those whispers are never wrong.
From the way my men filed out the room less than a minute ago, I knew it wouldn't be long. I also knew it would be the last time I would see them, because he was already here, within the building.
I can feel him, our souls like magnets drawing closer to each other, creating that crackle within the air. Until snap!
The doors to the ballroom are thrown open and my guests who have been enjoying their evening had no idea what is about to unfold.
Maybe it's the bodies of my men littered in the reception area of the hotel?
Maybe it's the state of the hotel itself after facing the whirlwind of a man?
Or maybe it's just... Him?
The classical music which has been playing throughout the night is an ironic twist to the next scene of events.
Chaos erupts, like hot water poured onto an ants nest.
As people begin scrambling, screaming and running for the exits, we remain still, focused entirely on each other. Chairs toppling over with the sound of glass smashing. All whilst the sound of violin strings bleed and piano keys plink.
The gun which was held at his side when he entered, but once his icy blue eyes found mine, he raised it. Training it solely on me.
There's blood on his clothes, but I'm no fool into believing that it is his.
The trained assassin.
I hadn't move from my position, stood at the bar with a glass of champagne in my hand. I didn't need too, because I know, he won't shoot me.
Sipping from my glass, I blink softly, allowing my guests to fall over themselves, scurrying away from the danger that's presented itself.
Once upon a time, I craved that danger. I needed it, like a drug. My body would ache without it, but then came the moment, where my body failed. My mind too, as my heart took over.
It was an issue, which was soon rectified.
It was short, sharp and effective..
This man, who I let into my life, my heart and my bed, double crossed me. So I returned the favour.
He broke my heart, so I broke the one thing most important to him.
His kill streak, his reputation as being the best of the best.
I'm the Alpha now and it's something which grates him raw. Which is why he is here, now with a gun on me and a murderous look in his eyes.
It's our foreplay.
When the last person leaves and the doors that he had erupted from close, I speak.
It's short, deliberate and soft. I use his name because I know him, I know the parts of his soul he claims are too dark.
He had shared them with me. Pillow talk. I was now privy to the knowledge of what affects him.
His weaknesses became my strengths, all for this moment... Our reunion.
"Hello August."
