Part One: New Job
It had been a few hours since Robotnik got back to Earth. He was wandering around, looking at all the trees and the night sky above him. He had missed this, but he knew he had to get back to his lab. The only caveat was that he also knew that the government would never want to see him at all. So, he went to his secret lab.
When he got there, he typed in the passcode into the key pad. He was shocked to see that it was incorrect. He typed it again, but slower. It still didn't work. He got frustrated and slammed his fist against the door, unfortunately, that activated the security drones and he ran away as fast as he could.
Sadly, his drones were too advanced and they caught him. He stood still and waited for someone to arrive. In the distance, he heard a truck coming. It was his old lab truck. "Who would dare take my robots?!" He asked himself in his head.
Out of the truck stepped someone he couldn't believe he was seeing. It was Stone. He had a large black coat on and a turtle neck underneath. He walked towards Robotnik and stared him straight in the eyes. "Ivo. I didn't think you'd survive." He said with a stern voice. It seemed that he wasn't at all surprised that Robotnik had lived.
The doctor scoffed. "I didn't think you'd survive with me, agent." He replied. "Actually, it's Dr. Stone now." Stone said. Robotnik's jaw dropped. "DOCTOR?! BUT I'M THE DOCTOR! YOU OBEY... me...." he was caught off guard by drone pointing lasers at him. "I wouldn't say anything like that if I were you, Ivo." Stone said, grinning. He motioned the drones to stand down, and they did.
Robotnik couldn't believe what he was seeing. His life's work was taken over by what he called his lackey, his servant, his sidekick. "But if you're the new doctor... then what am I?" He asked with a sad tone. Stone thought about it for a bit, and then got a brilliant idea. "You could be MY agent!" He said happily. Robotnik started at him with a blank face for a moment, and then he laughed.
"ME?! YOUR AGENT?! BAH! YOU'RE CRAZY!" He shouted, laughing hysterically. Stone shrugged. "Welp, enjoy being homeless and alone then." He said, walking off. Robotnik then realized that he couldn't do that. He stopped Stone. "W-Wait!", he said, "I changed my mind!"
Stone smiled. "Alright then. Come on. I'll get you to a shower first, you smell and look awful." He said. Robotnik rolled his eyes. "Ugh, whatever you say.... sir...." he said, his face turned red with embarrassment.
They got into the truck and it started to drive down the highway. Stone and Robotnik sat down and it was very quiet. Very awkwardly quiet. Robotnik spoke up.
"So, why are you deciding to take over my whole thing?" He asked. Stone was confused. "What are you talking about?" He asked in reply. Robotnik rolled his eyes. "You know what I'm talking about", he said, "You took my job position and took all of my machines!"
Stone sighed. "Ivo-" he said before being interrupted by the truck door opening. Robotnik got out first. "Have fun being successful, Stone! I'm gonna go use my genius elsewhere." He said, walking towards the forest. Stone wanted to say something, but the right words never came out of his mouth. So, he watched in silence as Robotnik walked away.
Stone went inside the lab and sat down at his desk. He wanted to tell Robotnik the truth, but he didn't know how to say it without sounding stupid. He always thought that was his problem, he wasn't smart enough. Sure, he had graduated top of his class, but that meant nothing compared to what Robotnik had accomplished.
He was about to play some of Robotnik's old songs, when he heard the door open. It was Tom. They had talked for a while after Robotnik was blasted to the mushroom planet. Stone had promised he would be kind and never lay a finger on Sonic or anyone for that matter, and he kept that promise.
"Hey man, sorry to interrupt whatever you were doing." He said, taking a seat. "Mr. Wachowski, what are you doing here?" Stone asked. "Oh, well I was wondering if you had anything that could fix this." Tom handed him a tablet.
"What's wrong with it?" Stone asked. "It's screen is perfectly fine, but the inside is jacked." Tom replied.
Stone grabbed a small device out of a drawer and used it to safely open up the tablet. It looked perfectly fine, but that obviously didn't mean it was.
"Well, I'll see what I can do. Come back in tomorrow." He said. Tom nodded. "Thanks, man. Knew I could count on you." He said, patting Stone on the shoulder. Tom left and drove away.
Stone put the tablet aside and started playing the music. It was all going well until he heard a loud boom in the distance.
He stepped outside and saw a large fire in the middle of the forest, that was where the secret lab was. His immediate thought was that Robotnik was there, so he rushed over there.
