We've supported, we've purported,

We've soothed, we've moved,

We've walked, we've talked,

We've cried, we've tried.

But now she knows,

Life has its highs and lows,

Life's meaning changes; it's just a maze,

This desperate, downward spiral, only a phase.

This may give her emotions a violent stir,

But she's got other things going for her,

Sometimes our troubles make us scream and shout,

But given time and patience, they often work out.

But to get these things, understand them, learn,

She may have to go it alone, crash and burn,

It's painful to see but we've done it you and me,

And we all know, deep down, so will she.
