Chapter 37
"I'm sorry for causing a scene at the hospital." Tim says as he sits down on the side of the bed.
"Can I ask you something, Sweetie?" Adam asks as he sits down next to the blind man. He waits for Tim to nod before continuing. "Could it be that you might be just a wee bit jealous of Kelsey?"
Tim thinks for a second before answering, "No, I don't think so. I happy that Rob has found someone."
"I know you are. But that someone has taken over the job of worrying about Rob." Adam replies.
"I know that. BUT she doesn't need to shut us out of his life. We were worried about him too just as much as she was. I just wanted to see for myself that he was going to be alright." Tim says with a shrug. "That's all I was asking."
"I know, Sweetheart." Adam smiles as he brushes Tim's hair behind his ear. "The others are lucky to have you. You have the sass to speak up when you think you guys are getting a bad deal."
"Actually, your grandmother taught me that. She told me that if I didn't speak up for myself, no one else would." Tim says with a smile.
"I will." Adam says as he kisses this boyfriend on the cheek.
"I can pretty much take up for myself but it's good to know that you have my back." Tim chuckles.
"Always." Adam smiles. "Let's get some sleep. Rob will be released later and I know you want to be up when he gets home."
"I am tired." The brunette nods with a yawn.
"Get ready for bed while I go get your eye drops." Adam says as he pats Tim on the leg then gets up to go to the bathroom.
By the time Adam used the bathroom, washed his hands and got the eye drops from the medicine cabinet, Tim had already stripped done to his boxers and was lying down.
"My eyes are so dry." Tim groans as he hears the blonde come out of the bathroom.
"Well, I'm fixing to take care of that." Adam says as he crawls onto the bed next to his boyfriend.
Adam carefully puts the drops into each of Tim's eyes.
"You have the prettiest brown eyes that I have ever seen." Adam smiles as he looks down at the brunette. "They're like pools of milk chocolate."
"If you say so." Tim chuckles as he closes his eyes, waiting for the stinging to stop. "I have no idea what milk chocolate looks like. But I know it's tasty."
"Very true." Adam replies as he sets the eye drops on the nightstand. He gets up and begins to get ready for bed.
"Just don't try to eat my eyeballs while I'm sleeping." Tim laughs as he rolls over on his side and gets comfortable.
"Ewe. That sounds disgusting." Adam laughs as he crawls back into bed. "Good night, Gorgeous."
"Good night, Beautiful." Tim says as they snuggle closely.
~~
"Just look at them. Sleeping like innocent babies." A voice says.
"Yeah, but we know differently." Another voice chuckles.
Tim slowly opens his eyes and turns his head toward the voices. His mind too groggy from sleep to make out who's voices they were. Did he really hear voices or had he been dreaming?
"Hello?" Tim says quietly. If it had been a dream, he didn't want to wake Adam up by him talking to himself.
"I figured you'd have breakfast waiting on me." Rob chuckles.
"ROB!!??" Tim shouts as he quickly sits up.
"What?" Adam mumbles as he rolls over, rubbing his eyes.
"You two gonna sleep all day?" Austin asks.
"Rob?" Tim asks again as he reaches his hand out for the bearded man.
"I'm right here, Timmy." Rob smiles as he takes the blind man's hand.
Tim gets up from the bed and pulls Rob into a hug.
"What time is it? We wanted to be up when you got home." Adam says as he sits up in bed.
"It's about 8:30. The doctor came by earlier than we thought he would." Kelsey replies. "We knew you were all exhausted so we just called a uber."
"How are you feeling?" Tim asks with a worried look as he rubs the bearded man on the jaw.
"I'm feeling great." Rob smiles, he takes Tim's hand in his and gently squeezes it. "Just starving. We left before they served breakfast."
"Say no more, breakfast will be ready soon." Chris chuckles as he turns to head down to the kitchen.
"I'll help you, Chris." Kelsey says. "I have a list of the things that Rob can and can not eat."
"Oh, great." Rob replies in a sarcastic tone.
"No complaining. We don't want this happening again." Tim scolds.
"Yes, sir." Rob fakes a pout as he hangs his head being over dramatic.
"Suck it up, Buttercup." Austin says. "You gave us all a scare."
"Yeah, I know." Rob says as he hangs his head even farther.
"You do know, Rob, that you're going to have these guys and Kelsey fussing over you like a mother hen, right?" Adam asks with a smirk on his lips.
"Yeah, I know." Rob says as his shoulders slump.
"Only because we care about you." Tim adds.
"Yeah, I know." Rob replies.
Chance reaches over and takes the blind man's hand and lays it on top of his.
"If he slumps any farther he's going to fall out of his chair. Lol." Chance signs.
"And no slumping. It's not good on your back." Tim says with a slight smirk.
"What? Who's slumping? I'm not slumping." Rob says as he quickly straightens up.
"Really? That's not what I heard." Tim says as he raises a brow.
"Tattletale." Rob signs to Chance, causing the mute to hang his head and chuckle. Rob turns back to Tim. "My body is just weak from starvation."
"Whatever." Tim laughs as he reaches out to find his clothes. "It's good to have you back home." He adds as he sits back down on the bed and begins putting on his pants.
"It's good to be home and trust me, I'm going to do whatever it takes to keep from going back." Rob says.
"Cool." Adam says with a nod.
A flashback hit Tim of when he and Adam first met. How he wondered if Adam's vocabulary contained more than the word, cool.
"Oh, God." Tim laughs as he falls back across Adam's lap. "And you were doing so well."
"Huh?" Adam asks as he looks down at his laughing lover.
